I-Firefox Isithangami Sokwesekwa

I reinstalled Firefox, now 119.0.1 64bit on our Mac M2 now OS13.6 via download-reinstall in the owner account on our shared Mac. The "Firefox is being updated by another instance" line in About Firefox still has not gone away after closing and restarting Firefox.

Presuming this will disrupt future updates, I seek help.

Background: Last spring, I upgraded from a 2016 Mac on OS10.15 (which still appears on my Mozilla account) to this M2 OS12 now 13.6. I had previously set Firefox to prompt me for updates because they could disrupt my work on the old Mac. It worked fine up to 118 point something. Up to my ears recently in urgent other stuff, I deferred the prompt for 119. Then, frazzled, I just closed several 119 prompts. Today, after helping my wife use her account on the M2, I found in my Dock's active apps area an icon for something like Updater something-or-other. After a while, I swiped it away.

Is there a way to enable using both a default pattern as well as a custom image for the background on Firefox Color? I really want to enable both but it is making me choose one or the other. Please help me do this or enable the ability to do so.

I was having trouble with Firefox freezing and needed to close it with Task Manager and reopen it whenever this happened. On one of these restarts, only a few of my windows opened up with the new session. All of the other open windows vanished. They're not in my history or my recently closed windows at all. There are three specific windows of the lost windows that had data I was actively using and don't want to lose. The URLs would be enough. I was also using the other windows, but I can re-find that information easily enough.

Suddenly, now on FF 119.0.0.1, JPEG Images no longer open in new tab when clicked with mid-mouse-button (previous behaviour, wanted), instead they get downloaded, safed to DL-folder, and maybe opened in 3rd-party-app. I tried to change the Open-with settings, but to no avail - there's no option to 'Open in Firefox'/Internally. (Only Open with../Download)

I've tried older guides on the topic, which didn't apply here it seems, also cleaned cache, etc.

I'm using last release Firefox in a fresh install of Debian 12 with KDE. Trying to personalize colors and get a coherent style, I've installed Firefox Color and it worked fine, except for a few GUI elements.

Is there a similar setting for the menus? I mean in Firefox's menu bar or the ones popping over the page. The dropdown of the burguer menu and the bookmarks toolbar do get styled (I will include images showing the difference).

Hi... I did a Firefox refresh today. Prior to the refresh, my bookmarks were displayed of the left side of the browser page... now they are not. I can still see and access my bookmarks if I go into manage bookmarks. But, I can not figure out how to get them displayed as before. Would appreciate any help anyone can provide. Thank in advance.

I am having this issue where Firefox only keeps "Today's" history. I have thoroughly looked at the community's similar issue fixes.

I do not have Private Browsing on. I have set "Custom Settings History:

 -Remember browsing and download history
 -Remember search and form history

I do not have CC Cleaner or like apps and the one I do is on auto-manual and does not clear FF.

There is no reason for this. I would like to know when answering, what are a couple of likely causes for this. It appears by many queries here and on Google this has been an issue for years and FF seems not to want to fix it or know about it. Your help is appreciated.

This only happens when clicking a link from an email in Thunderbird most of the time it is a news platform. I have to copy the link and open a new tab in Firefox to have it work.

When I try to watch video on YouTube or other places. I encounter green line and reverse picture. I have reinstall Firefox but it still persist. Can someone please help me understand how to fix it. As the video bug only happens in firefox. I'm tired off spell check constantly saying I'm misspelling words because I'm writing in Danish, so I decided to download the danish dictionary for it, but it isn't working. When I right click on a "misspelled" word, it will only let me choose the default English (United States).

I have triple checked that I actually do have the danish dictionary downloaded an enabled.

I use a lot of keyword search engines. This means I can type something like `kagi foobar` to search Kagi for `foobar`. However the awesome bar has a "feature" where if you type a question mark (?) anywhere it instead uses the default search engine. This means that `kagi How do I cook a turkey?` searches my default search engine for "kagi How do I cook a turkey?" rather than searching Kagi (based on the `kagi` keyword). Is there a way to disable this behaviour?

I have searched about:config and "Search Shortcuts" in preferences doesn't have a `?`. I never use `?` as a shortcut to search (I just type the keyword for the engine I want) so completely removing it would be perfect.

Hi, I would like to customize the apps that firefox shows me when I click the address bar. In the attached image, you see youtube, google, reddit, wikipedia, twitter. I would like to remove some of these apps. How can I do that?

Also, there are suggested search engines on the bottom, including amazon, bing, ebay. How can I customize the apps which appear in that list? Again, I want to remove some of these apps.

I'm not very computer savvy but I followed a website a few months ago to edit Firefox so it'd default to dark mode. I think I went in and edited source code? I can't find the instructions anymore but I'd like to revert back to the original setting. How do I do that? I tried to refresh Firefox but it's still coming back with some websites in dark mode and some not. Please advise!
