I-Firefox Isithangami Sokwesekwa

Every time I attempt to download a file today, no matter what it is or where it's from, it pops up saying that the download failed immediately. I can download through Edge or other browsers, just not Firefox (or any Firefox offshoots like LibreWolf). Not sure what's causing it, I've run a whole gambit of troubleshooting options, including:

• Checking my connection
• Checking my drive's space (plenty)
• Changing the download path
• Reset the download folder in about:config
• Rebooting my computer
• Clearing my downloads
• Trying a new profile
• Run a MalwareBytes scan
• Closed MalwareBytes and turned off my firewall
• Ensured OneDrive is disabled
• Refreshed Firefox
• Did a clean install

Nothing works. The only thing I found that gives me any kind of clue is this error message in my about:support: ""NotAllowedError: Could not create unique file in `C:\Users\[my name redacted]\AppData\Local\Temp' (NS_ERROR_FILE_ACCESS_DENIED"" It seems like Firefox is trying to write to Temp and can't get the permissions, but I'm not sure why that would be or how to fix it. I have tried googling my butt off, but I'm not finding anything helpful - I may just be blind.

If anyone has any idea how to fix this, it'd be much appreciated!

i updated my browser and now everything is gone, my extentions wont open as its in "safe mode", none of my browsing history is saved anymore. should I delete firefox and reinstall it?

When i scroll up and down on a page, it instead provides the back-page instead of scrolling up and down on the website. this is for all websites. the scroll function works oroperly in system settings, it is only with firefox. autoscrolling is enabled in settings.

I have issues since a few months that Firefox loads website only when I actively click on the app and put in foreground. Then the tabs start loading. Why is that?

After startup of Windows 10, I usually run a little batch script of mine starting various applications such as Outlook, Notepad++ etc, including Firefox along with my favourite websites, just like this:

start "" "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Firefox.lnk" https://de.wikipedia.org https://www.google.de [and more...]

So Firefox loads and opens all the tabs in the background, while other apps such as Outlook or Notepad++ come in the foreground. I read mails etc. before I decide to check e.g. Wikipedia. So it might take 5 minutes after Firefox got opened before I actively put it in the foreground. THEN I see no websites got loaded, and THEN Firefox starts to load the websites, which then takes the normal amount of time of a few seconds.

I wonder why Firefox does not load all my requested websites directly after start in the background.

An annoying side effect is, when still in Outlook and clicking on a website link in an email, it won't open in Firefox, most likely due to that reason that Firefox still waits for all the other websites to load. I need to put it into foreground, wait for the loading process to complete, and then go back to the email and click on the link again.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

I am using latest of Firefox and DuckDuckGo. When I type something in the main search bar (in the middle of screen) the text moves to the search field in the toolbar area. I find this annoying. I want to text to remain in the main search bar (middle of screen). Any solution?

Hi, I've recently downloaded firefox and trying to add extensions that were similar to the ones I used on chrome. My problem is that all the extensions (Hoverzoom, Short Keys) in the extensions tab in the toolbar and appear to not be working (both in private and normal browsing). However the extensions (Ublock, SponsorBlock) that have their own icon on the toolbar seem to be working fine.

I changed the 'mousewheel.with_shift.action' to a '5' in 'about:config' to be able to use pinch zoom on my desktop with a keyboard and mouse, like I'm able to do on my phone or laptop with a touch screen. This does work properly and I'm able to pinch zoom by holding down the Shift key and scrolling my mouse wheel up and down.

However, there is an issue of sensitivity. The pinch zoom is painfully slow, and I have been unable to adjust its speed. If there exists an option to change the pinch zoom sensitivity, I'd greatly appreciate the help.

After update to 126.0.1 I cant access two of the four windows that are open. They are still listed under the Window toolbar option but clicking on them reveals nothing, as if hidden except they are not in the Mac toolbar. Not sure if this is a new feature or glitch, any help would be great, the two windows I can't currently access contain alot of tabs I need.

There are a bunch of obsolete suggestions on opening FF without address bar, menu bar, etc., and kiosk mode.

I do not want Kiosk mode, but do need ability to open it via command line so that only the title bar (and borders around the app.

The most current available entry on the matter in the Mozilla site no longer works (at least for me) --

Also even if it did, not viable to update all FF users as these are customers, and they won't, simple as that. Chromium browsers just work by passing the command by default.

This is for use to launch a local help/users guide from a Windows application. Can do so on Chrome/Edge, but leaving out FF is less than ideal.

How can you create **multiple** Firefox website shortcuts to the taskbar in Windows 11?

I have spent 90 minutes looking everywhere on the web--few people seem to understand the question--and no suggestions I can find anywhere on the web are correct.

NOTE: not referring to one single Firefox shortcut on the taskbar--that's easy.

I'm referring to pinning an ADDITIONAL shortcut to the taskbar (in FF to another website).

NOTE: not referring to creating multiple shortcuts in Firefox ON the desktop.

When creating multiple shortcuts on deskstop--there is no "Pin to taskbar" option in the context menu when the shortcut is right clicked. The only option is: "unpin from taskbar option." see uploaded image

Previously, it was possible--in Windows 10--to pin multiple Firefox shortcuts to the taskbar. It is still possible in Edge and Chrome. [I prefer Firefox and do not like to access my Google account on Chrome or Edge.]

So: how to create multiple shortcuts in Firefox to pin to Windows 11 taskbar?

Just installed latest version of Firefox - and cannot login into the browser to enable applications menu.

I can login into my Mozilla account but how do you login to this new version of the browser?

I have a problem in Firefox where I can't log into Chewy. I get the error "Secure Connection Failed". Turning off extensions doesn't help, this seems to be a root problem with Firefox itself. I can sign in using Edge.

I cannot even download firefox because im getting an error message " cannot create temp archive folder" It wont even launch the install files. Something orgininally happened to firefox on my computer because i wasnt able to download anything with the browser download manager. I need help

I have used Firefox exclusively for years. I use Hushmail but recently I am missing the respond to email bar that was always there. I have to use Edge and Chrome (but not a fan of) and Hushmail works like it used to. Something about Firefox must be the difference. Can you help me?

There is (IMHO) some missing functionality / unwanted feature or call it what you like (bug?).

History -> Manage History

select e.g. Last 7 days, right click on Name and select at least two attributes (you can choose from: Tags, Location,Most Recent Visit, Added and Last Modified)

Select the first entry of the list, all displayed fields are selected/highlighted.

Copy (either with the menu or with Ctrl-C) and paste it in your favourite text editor.

Why is only the URL copied? Other fields were also highlighted. Why are they not included?

This is WYSINWYG (what you see is not what you get).

It is possible to export bookmarks as an html file, so why is this not possible with history?

OK, it is possible to query the sqlite3 database directly to get some history info but it's a bit cumbersome.

To do so,

  copy the sqlite (places.sqlite) database to some safe place then open the database (with 'sqlite3 places.sqlite')
  get the history info you are interested in with a sqlite query,
  e.g. select title,visit_count,site_name,url,description,last_visit_date from moz_places where url like '%support%';

But there is no simple (AFAIK) way to convert 'last_visit_date' (an integer) to something human readable.

So either include the whole selection when something is copied (WYSIWYG) or provide export history as an html file.

Any suggestions?
