Hello, My Antivirus sofware (GData Internet security) showed the attached message (in German) two times today. It says in English something like:

It was tried to access an infected archive

Virus: Trojan.GenericKD.71195125 (Engine A) File: 0B3C6E11DBBC160A3AAFC100C8BAB878F5EE0C Directory: C:\Users\re-ge\AppData\Local\Mozilla Firef Process: firefox.exe

The line ending with "Firef" may indicate that lines are truncated.

Any suggestion what to do ? Reinhard

I am having a significant issue with firefox draining my battery. I used chrome up until the new year and then switched over to firefox from chrome. Overall I love firefox so much more. The format is way more pleasing. I love how it easily signs me back into everything, BUT IT DRAINS MY COMPUTER SO MUCH. Like i used to have an 8hour + battery span my laptop neverrr died. Now I get through MAX 2 hours of full use before needing to charge, and maybe 4 hours just having it at school but not using it.

I thought my dell suddenly started crashing, ran all these tests, and then I realized the only change was that I had started using Firefox... So sad I think I am going to have to leave it.

I read a lot of articles and did everything suggested. my graphics is webreader , i turned on all the suggested features, i have 2 extensions , the only thing I could maybe think of was that I use an animated theme so maybe that was killing the battery, but like if I can't use my theme than whats the point.

I imported my bookmarks, but they're not displaying in the bookmarks toolbar. I've tried hiding it and unhiding and restarting the program/my computer. The imported bookmarks can be seen when I go to "recent bookmarks" in the manage your bookmarks section. It also says that they're listed in the bookmarks menu, but they're not visible outside of the manage bookmarks settings window.

My old email keeps showing up when Firefox is trying to auto fill email. How do I change that in Firefox. Same with addresses, My mailing address is shown in many different ways, all variants of my actual address.

Also, I have some kind of browser hijacker (BING) that keeps directing me to Bing website. I have tried the standard procedures as outlined, bu t still BING often redirects my searches. I am also working with my anti-virus people to try to correct, but thought I would ask you as well. Smaller adblocker ultimate advertising icon appears on most screens. It's annoying and typically in the way. I tried adblocker once but disabled it months ago and removed it today. The ad for adblocker ultimate still appears in the lower corner of most pages. The icon and the Expanded flag is (opened) are both attached below.

When you add a page to your bookmarks a window appears that asks for a name and which folder you want to save it on. By default it recommends you a folder but there is a button to "un-hide" your full folders list. Is there a way to make this the default? As in, i dont have to click "un-hide" everytime (...because firefox never picks the folder i want)

I used to be able to access my Wells Fargo account using Firefox (as recently as last Thursday Jan 11,2024). Now when I try to access the account, Wells Fargo no longer recognizes my sign-in information. The Wells Fargo internet customer service person I spoke to said I was the second customer within the last few days with a similar problem with Firefox. Both Chrome and Edge are not having similar problems. I have the latest version of Firefox, so possibly Wells Fargo changed something. I do not want to use Chrome or Edge because of the hundreds of trackers they allow. Does anybody have any ideas? How does Firefox check on the compatibility of Firefox with websites? Thank you. Every time I open FF it tries to download a file I previously downloaded. Even if I do it again, it won't stop it. How do I delete this queued action?

Why can't you pin the extension 'Tiny URL' to the toolbar any more?

This extension is really useful! I don't want to have to excavate Firefox to use it.

Tiny URL is more useful than the rather silly 'Pocket' which just seems to be a page full of adverts

WSJ opinion pages won't load fully on Firefox. The same webpage works on other browsers. This has been a recurring issue ever since I switched over to Firefox. It's the main reason why I still keep Google Chrome around.

I've tried updating to the newest version of Firefox and also iOS. Also, clearing my cache/cookies works sometimes but the problem keeps coming back.

I wish to remove the ugly looking line between my custom home button and the first tab. You can find that on the top left. I already have userChrome.css set up and I found no help on the r/FirefoxCSS subreddit.

For anyone who can be of EXTRA help, I wish to also fully round the search bar in my "about:home" which you can see is underneath the FireFox logo. I want to add my own custom border radius of "2em" and remove the blue outline when selected.

Firefox is my go to browser, pretty much the only one I use. I have logged into the akc.org webpage 1000s of times. Now, only on your browser (I tested two others), I get a blue button with a padlock image that reads "login to AKCAD," the I get sent to microsoft. I made sure my microsoft account was not hacked and it is not, and I logged out of it. I still keeping getting this; I added the succession of what happens in the attached images. Please figure out what the issue is. Thank you!

The removal of the download status bar at the bottom of the browser is a major UI failure and this feature needs to be returned.

I spent 30 minutes attempting to download/extract a settings file from an Addon until I noticed that Firefox was silently downloading it to my Downloads folder without any notification that it had started or completed.

The download bar was a known solution for this; The bar itself did not obscure the current webpage, provided immediate feedback on download initiation, progress, and completion. Provided quick access to open the file(s) or find options about the file(s), and the download bar could be dismissed quickly if the vertical page space was required/desired.

The hidden download tray is a horrible design idea, makes it difficult to see if your downloads have started successfully, when they have completed, and how to access them. Additionally, the introduction of 'hint' popups to support this feature actively obscure the webpage you're viewing, making them dramatically worse than the download bar, which left the page completely usable and only required a few pixels of height at the bottom.

This is a major design flaw.

Ccleaner gives message of "Firefox needs to be closed. i though it was Ccleaner that was the problem. it's not Ccleaner's problem... I get the same message when I run advanced system care... when I click 'close for me' it just skips it over and over. i then run it after starting PC and it still tells me FF is running. the 1st time it lasted for weeks(summer-ish of 2023) and seemed to fix itself. and it also wasn't fixed with 1 or 2 FF updates because i was waiting to see after updates that it would be fixed but wasn't. And I can't find Firefox running in Windows or advanced system care task manager. which means i cant close it manually. so I'm pretty sure it's a Firefox system problem... somehow FF is still running hidden in the background. i run malware fighter and anti virus to see if something is using it but comes up empty.

Hi, I read through another thread where someone was having this same issue and there was no resolve because no one seemed to understand the issue. My issue is that I can't clear the "Save Files to" setting under "Files and Applications\Downloads" and leave it at "Always Ask". What I wind up with is a lot of clutter in my Downloads folder. So my question is, How do I correct this setting so FireFox stops saving files in places that I don't want them saved?

Our office uses a cloud-based database. Mozilla won't allow me to "check" boxes to do database searches for specific things. Google works fine, Edge works fine, but not Mozilla. Any ideas on how to fix this would be appreciated. Thanks!

I don't want to get the 'Add Bookmark' popup prompt when I right click -> Bookmark Link, I just want it to bookmark the link.

Unchecking 'Show editor when saving' doesn't disable this popup.

I use 'right click -> Bookmark Link' a lot, so would really appreciate a fix, thanks :)

Here is a rather long winded explanation of my problem initially prepared for an email to Firefox until I found out that was not a possibility. Hello Agent, I have a problem with Firefox described as follows: I have an account with a company called Eversfield Organic an organic meat company. They have a facility whereby the delivered cold packs and insulating material can be returned to them via DPD free of charge. To achieve this a form has to be completed on Eversfields site to enable a returns label to be printed. When attempting to complete this form one line of this form will not accept an input. This item is called the “Country” which should read “United Kingdom”. I cannot input this manually or by my password manager “RoboForm” which temporary inputs United Kingdom until I release the mouse button when it goes blank again. I have tried the Google Chrome and Opera browsers which work perfectly using this system. So logically it would appear that there is a fault with Firefox which is a shame since it is my preferred browser. It would be appreciated if you can provide a solution to this problem. Cox communications updated my internet from high speed cable to fiber. New fiber terminal, wire, and box at the side of the house. My desktop (windows , pc) can no longer access google search and gmail from firefox (all other websites work). However I can access google search and gmail from edge and chrome from the same computer.

Please help, I have already tried: Uninstalling firefox and re-installing firefox checking privacy settings deleting cookies
