How do I turn off web translation permanently for ALL pages in Firefox 118.0.1?? It´s the most annoying feature so far from Firefox. Even if I delete all languages in preferences, it shows up on every page I visit.

I have followed the steps in the "Prevent Firefox from starting automatically" article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-starts-automatically-when-i-restart-window

But Firefox keeps starting automatically when I restart my computer. Attached is an image of how the settings are now.

What should I do? This is a bit annoying. I don't use Firefox as my main browser but I work as a customer success manager for an online platform and always need to do some tests on Firefox, but I don't want it to start automatically when I turn on my computer.

Although I have disabled all relevant "sync" settings in Firefox, the browser is still syncing tabs across my MacBookAir and my iMac.

To make matters worse, tabs in Chrome and Safari sync to Firefox tabs across devices as well. The sync occurs in both directions.

I am not logged into Chrome or my gmail account.

Specs: MacBookAir: early 2015/ OS v. 12.7 (Monterey) iMac: Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, 2017 / OS 12.6.8 (Monterey)

Things I've tried:

• Turning off syncing in Firefox on both devices.
• Signing out of Firefox from both devices.
• Disabling "sync open tabs" via Firefox preferences
• Renaming devices from within Firefox Sync. (The name always reverts to the previous one.)
• Reinstalling Firefox
• Deleting cache from both Firefox and Chrome.
• Restarting

I am unable to log into facebook after inputting my password and 2FA. disabling all addons does not help. It is stuck on the "This was me" screen in an infinite loop.

For some reason I can't access the Spotify website (spotify.com or https://open.spotify.com/). I get this error message:

Page not found - We can’t seem to find the page you are looking for. Any ideas? This is infuriating. I'm on a Mac running Ventura and the newest version of Firefox. Thanks.

Seems like when I tried logging in to my old account with a password reset, I somehow created a second account with the same email.

All my bookmarks and extension set ups seem to be gone.

Never had this issue, and have been using the same firefox account for like 5 years.

I'm trying to connect to my Schneider XWPro Gateway for access to my solar inverter, and security policy on Firefox no longer't allows access. I can access using Safari by explicitly allowing access. Error from Firefox is as follows:

Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to 192.168.1.120. You are attempting to import a cert with the same issuer/serial as an existing cert, but that is not the same cert.

Error code: SEC_ERROR_REUSED_ISSUER_AND_SERIAL

   The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
   Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem

Your error message states there is a problem with a certificate conflict, however there is no apparent way to tell which certificate is causing the conflict, so there is nothing I can do about it. This is a new problem, I have been able to access this device in the past.

Any suggestions?

Recently, when I try to play a video on YouTube on Firefox, there is a flickering brightness effect (some aspects of the video seem to flicker bright and dark quickly) which is distracting and makes it difficult to watch anything. The effect persists even when launching in troubleshooting mode, and disabling hardware acceleration and restarting appears to have no effect. I have also been unsuccessful refreshing Firefox. Nevertheless, this issue is absent on Safari and Chrome when watching the same video.

Watching a solid colored video like this helps see the issue best, if it is happening to your device: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJmFYZEcpZA The brightness switch is visible even when pausing the video.

When I find the same video two different places (ex: the Apple Sept 12 Event on Apple's site, versus on YouTube) only the YouTube video has the issue. However, I can't find any settings to change on YouTube to help this.

Hi all. I've been using Firefox for years on my Mac. It's my browser of choice.

A couple of days ago, my Mac installed an OS update (v13.5.2). After the reboot, I opened Firefox and discovered that it, too, had installed an update (v117.0). But when I got into Gmail and tried to turn on desktop notifications, it said this:

Note: Notifications have been disabled in this browser.

And it's right--no other sites are sending me their usual notifications, either.

My problem is, I can't figure out why notifications are disabled in Firefox suddenly. I didn't disable them. I've tried clicking the lock on gmail's site and setting its permissions to allow notifications, but they aren't coming. I've checked my Mac's preferences, and Firefox has notifications enabled there, as usual. Gmail works fine on Chrome--notifications are working. I've tried reinstalling Firefox--no change. I've tried running Firefox in troubleshooting mode--no joy. Other sites aren't even asking for permission to send notifications. Like Gmail, they appear to believe notifications are disabled in the browser.

I've searched the web for solutions, but I can't find one that tells me where the enable/disable switch is. Can some kind soul please help me out here?

Hi, I have been wanting to switch to Firefox for a while now and I have imported all of my data from Chrome onto Firefox. All the other members of my household use Firefox on their Mac laptops and iPhones. I have only ever signed into my own account on Firefox, and in the same way I have only ever signed into my own account on Mozilla VPN, which I have used for over a year while living elsewhere and have never had a problem with this. I also have only my own Google account in the data imported from Chrome. I have no one else's information for any account on anything in my device nor, to my knowledge, do they have any account information of mine on theirs. However, sometime in the 10 or so months since I imported my Chrome data - around the same time I moved into a house with others who use Firefox - my laptop's Firefox seems to have...connected somehow, in a way atypical with normal syncing, with the other devices in my house. Occasionally, when I open Firefox on my computer, whatever tab another household member has open on their computer will open instead of a homepage. Also, a little icon pops up occasionally to tell me Firefox is "open on iPhone" when another household member is using Firefox on their iPhone. I use an Android which does not have Firefox installed, so it's not a glitch syncing with my own device. I do not know how this happened and I do not know how to stop it. There doesn't seem to be any evidence of this connection in any place I can see in the preferences window, nor can I find any way to permanently unsync my device's Firefox application from anything unless I sync something first. Any ideas? I'm not that terrible with computers lol, I swear!

I need to disable this horrible translator that is now showing up on top of every page I visit, It keeps showing up even after choosing a translation or disabling translations for that language. That is probably a bug, but I don't want to wait for a fix, I need to be able to see the pages I visit completely, this thing prevents me from clicking buttons and and is really anoying.

This is the built-in translation feature since I do not use any translation plugins, and started showing up after an upgrade.

First of all, thank you for your efforts to help this community. I've been using Firefox for about a decade and this is my first question, I believe.

I recently got a new Macbook. I've installed Firefox to it (my primary browser) and want to sync Firefox to it. I have Firefox on my iMac and my iPhone. However, my password is from 2014 and I can't seem to remember it no matter how many times I try. If I choose a new password, it gives me a warning that I will lose my account information, including my bookmarks, add-ons, history, etc. I really don't want to lose that info! I have spent a long time personalizing my Firefox.

Pleeeease tell me there's some other way to sync Firefox to my new laptop (when I can't remember my super old password).

After installing the addon FoxyProxy and Wappalyzer , its ui language was broken! if i copy those text form the ui and paste it anywhere it shows the correct text. other extensions dosn't have that problem. How to fix this?

I often need to be able to use the arrow keys to navigate my screen, especially in order to find and click on browser links. However, in the latest version of Firefox on a new macOS Ventura machine, the arrow keys are interpreted by Firefox even though they shouldn't be; at the least corresponding box in "Settings" is unchecked.

How can toggle this behavior off?

When I click on a link from an email or document, Firefox opens but goes to my homepage and doesn't go to the link page. I've tried setting my home page to blank, changed the settings for opening a new tab or window, and the one for "switch to it immediately" but it doesn't seem to help. How do I fix this? Have had this problem for a couple of years now, across dozens of Firefox updates. Decided to finally make a post since have not been able to find anything online.

Normally not too much of an issue as I can edit on a different computer through Firefox Sync (or through the Bookmarks manager), just posting to see if anyone else has seen this before.

If I open a Bookmarks Toolbar folder, then right-click a bookmark to edit it, the contextual menu appears behind the open folder dropdown menu.

Issue persists even if I reset Firefox, or even completely uninstall / remove ALL its bits and pieces, reboot, and do a clean install.

Since I am on a Mac, I use the AppCleaner app from FreeMacSoft to completely remove an app.

This happens only on one of my two Macs. Have never seen this behavior on any other Mac (I work on dozens for work). Both my Macs also have Win 10 installs through BootCamp and those two also behave normally. I use Firefox Sync across 4 Firefox installs (2 Mac OS and 2 Win 10), an iPhone, and an iPad.

Screenshot enclosed below. Feel free to ask for any other info you may need. I recognize this may not be a Firefox issue. There seems to be a funky interaction between my install of Mac OS and Firefox. This occurs only with Firefox. All other apps exhibit normal menu behaviors.

Tech details: Firefox 117.0 Mac OS Catalina 10.15.7 running on mid 2012 15" MacBook Pro with 1 TB SSD and 16 GB RAM

It would be great to be able to add a 'friendly name' to cards stored. I have personal, joint account and business cards saved, it can get a little confusing.
