Hello, I would like to ask:

1. If the browsers now are offering tracking protection, do we need add ons for tracking protection (ex.: privacy badger)?

2. If I can see myself the HTTPS at the sites that I am visiting and change it if necessary, what is HTTPS Everywhere is offering more, do I need it?

I was thinking that now with Mozilla Firefox, I don't need add ons.

Thank you in advance.

I have mistyped a credit card number so now it keeps filling in the wrong number. I can't find where to edit or delete this. All the help articles say go to "Forms and Autofill" and then "Saved Credit Cards". I don't have these options. I don't have "Forms and Autofill", I just have "Logins and Passwords" and under that, I just have an on/off toggle option for "Autofill logins and passwords" - can't find anywhere for saved credit cards. I updated to 80.0.1 browser so I'm up to date.

hey you guys,

I have a VBS script that dumps all cache data fro the FF dir in windows, however it keeps specific files so I don't have to go through the frustration of re-entering passwords and stuff in HTML forms. I now wanted to get of all saved logins for the first time, however when I dumped all the cache data from the settings menu, all of the info was retained in FF. I had to manually remove everything from here:

about:logins.

Where is the setting to get rid of **everything** stored when dumping the cache in the settings? (see attached images for the places and/or scripts I am currently using to attempt to do this).

thanks!

Hi Team,

I have one website portal where we need to enter username and password to access the portal. when i access website from different browsers like Google Chrome, IE and Microsoft Edge, its automatically authenticating my windows login credentials. But when i am trying to access the same website in firefox , its not authenticating. i have to enter my username and password and than portal up for me and working.

I have done some basic troubleshooting step but nothing is working for me. steps:

network.automatic-ntlm-auth.allow-proxies True network.negotiate-auth.allow-proxies True network.automatic-ntlm-auth.trusted-uris, double click on this and i have entered my website url. closed Firefox and open again still same issues.

I have also added my website under Exceptions list in Security options, still not working

Login credential saving and prefill has been working great and synching across devices extremely well for quite awhile now. Very impressive.

Unfortunately, I have encountered a website where credentials appear not savable. I verified the domain is not listed as one that should be excluded from this process. I also tried the solution described at this link which involves saving a javascript as a bookmark, then using that bookmark in the course of logging into a site where credentials are not being saved.

I am wondering if you can verify for me that this domain cannot have its login credentials saved by Firefox and if possible, explain why this is the case. The domain is washingtontimes.com, the signin link is in the upper right corner of the page if you go there.

I recognize this hard to check if you do not have an account with the site in question. My hope is you can see something to explain what I am seeing. This is a big ask, so I want to express special appreciation for any assistance or information you might be able to provide.

Thank you.

I have seen this question asked and archived many times. I am in level III support professional and at home I have a Minnicks machine with Firefox to do what little surfing I do in my off time. All of a sudden without rhyme or reason I’m getting bad certificate notices and unsafe site notices for widely widely used sites. All the previous archived answers are very very vague & sometimes even condescending. this is the beginning of September 2020 in the forums are full of people complaining about it but apparently you see no reason to address it. Quit blaming the user. There is definitely something up I didn’t change any settings and I did not change my surfing habits and I didn’t download anything shaky. Whether you answer this or not is now academic because the way your previous answers were worded I have no intention of using Firefox again. And I’ve used it for many many years.

Greetings! Each and every time I close out Firefox, it deletes my pop-up approved exceptions list. There are two sites I visit regularly that use pop-up windows for displaying information, and if I add them to the exceptions list, they are gone (along with any others) the next time I open Firefox. This doesn't seem like the type of thing that should get deleted with clear history on close settings. It is happening with version 80.0.1, and happened with the prior version. Any thoughts on what might be causing this and/or solutions would be most appreciated.

Firefox 80.0.1 64-bit; Windows 10 Pro

When Enhanced Tracking is Strict some websites lose functionality.

The only options seem to be.

Disable Enhanced Tracking for that site

or Set Enhanced Tracking to Standard or Custom for all sites

So far, the frequented websites all seem to work with Strict except one and, for it, I would like to have it set to Standard rather than none.

If I am correct, let me know. if wrong, either direct me to instructions or just tell me. Yes, I have looked.

Thanks!

PS. My current option, for that one website, is to run Firefox in a separate Sandbox and set all websites to Standard.

I have my preferences to set to keep my logged and save cookies, but lately I have been getting logged out of websites I use regularly such as Reddit, GMail, Yahoo. History is set to clear when I close my browser because I don't need to be reminded that I searched for random words so I could spell them correctly.

This morning for example, I signed into Reddit because I had gotten signed out since last night. Did my reading. Closed my browser. Came back. Opened Reddit again and was signed out. It doesn't happen every time I close my browser. I may stay signed in for a few days with no issue or, like this morning, I don't stay signed in for very long. I even got a message that I wasn't signed in on tab I opened from another tab.

Is this a bug? Some undocumented feature?

It's not all bad though since it keeps me from constantly checking FB which I use 2FA for and hate going through.

I have had to change my email address and have tried to update after I have logged in under my old email account. This request sends a message to my old email account in order to proceed, however I am not able to receive emails on the old account. I have tried to create another account with my new email address however message states I am already signed in. There seems to be no way to sign out. I understand I may receive email responses however I will not be able to access them.

I noticed there is something in the Firefox browser now named Lockwise which allows anyone using my computer to see all my passwords. This seems to be a major problem when it is supposed to be concerned with security. If my laptop is stolen they will have access to all my passwords now???? This does not look like a security feature to me. How do I get rid of or disable this function?

Thx

Hello,

in our company we use firefox esr 78.2 and have blocked the installation of add-ons with our gpo-settings. But we need the openh264-codec-plugin to work (for video conferencing). Is there a chance to only allow / whitelist the openh264-plugin, so firefox can complete this codec-installation ?

We need something like the chrome-policy ExtensionInstallWhitelist: https://www.chromium.org/administrators/policy-list-3#ExtensionInstallWhitelist

thanks in advance and greetings from germany

It's a simple question: Why Firefox enforces by default extensions like Amazon, Bing, eBay, Google ? What really these extensions do?

Paradox#1: Firefox enforces to use those totally insecurity and unreliable companies! Paradox #2: Firefox don't even show those extensions mentioned above! Paradox #3: Even when I remove them from "Options->Search Engines" these ones keep being enabled and hidden! Paradox #4: Third party program needed to manage those Firefox hidden extensions! I Disable all above extensions by "CCleaner" and: Paradox #5: they comes back by default in every Firefox damn update!

I wish I'm wrong I would pleased if someone explain in an article, or even in few words, why all those. I think Mozilla should detailed explain.

Thanks in advance and Sorry for my English.
