I have a content filter to filter out inappropriate material. Included in the filter are filters for adult content on wikipedia, youtube,and google podcasts. however, all those sites are fully allowed on Firefox, as opposed to on Safari and google chrome where the filter is working properly

Up until recently, when watching youtube tv, the mouse cursor would disappear on my screen. But now, no matter what I do, I can't get the cursor to disappear. I have contacted apple, I have clean the cashe, I've done a restart, update my computer, update my browser, power clean, nothing works. This issue only occurs while using youtube tv. It does not happen using youtube.

Last update disabled picture in picture mode -- on top of full scree applications.

Please advise how to correct / adjust. This feature is vital to my work.

Hi. I keep several Firefox tabs open and active on my laptop. Inevitably, Firefox slows down after a week or several weeks and would benefit from a Quit / Restart. But then (I think) I would lose my tabs, which would mean a trip to the library to login and get them back. If I do nothing, a superslow Firefox will usually mean my laptop eventually restarts on its own. Then when I open Firefox I see a "Restore Session" option, which brings everything back (I think I see Restore Session because the computer did its own shutdown). So, this does work, but I have a slow computer until the laptop does its own restart. I am wondering if I can initiate my own Firefox Quit / Restart which will give me the "Restore Session" option. I wish you would stop carrying articles from sources that do not allow pocket subscribers to read them without an individual subscription to the article source. One notable example is the New York Times. it is not possible to read an article from them because when someone clicks on the article of interest, it is not visible unless that person signs up for a subscription to the NYT. So, for all of your readers who like to peruse interesting and thought provoking articles, but do not wish to sign up for multiple subscriptions, why even carry articles from sources that cannot be read to start with? this is VERY annoying! Thanks.

I recently started using Firefox as my main browser after using Chrome for awhile, and I'm now running into trouble playing music on Spotify.

Every time I try to play a song on the browser version of Spotify, it cycles through several quickly without playing anything and eventually displays an error message that says: "Spotify can't play this right now. If you have the file on your computer you can import it."

I've seen others with similar issues (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1431659) but the suggested fixes aren't working for me. My Firefox is up-to-date, I have DRM controlled content enabled, as well as the Widevine Content Decryption Module.

Looking for any suggestions!

I'm getting the error message "No video with supported format and MIME type found" with mp3 files at https://www.gatherthepeople.org/test/styled-7/page-3/ when using Firefox 123.0 on my M1 (ARM) iMac running OS 14.3.1; when using Firefox 123.0 on my M1 (ARM) MacBook Air running OS 14.3.1; when using Firefox 123.0 on Win 11;and when using Firefox 115.8 on my Intel MacBook Pro running OS 10.14.6.

The same mp3 files (https://www.gatherthepeople.org/test/styled-7/page-3) play without any problem with Chrome and Safari on the Mac and with Edge on Win 11 .

About a week ago I started getting these update error messages stating "Update available - Firefox couldn't update automatically. Download the new version". I've also tried clicking "Learn more" on the error message but it's a dead link. Going into the settings for updates I am set to auto update, but when I manually check for updates it says "Failed to check for updates".

The help article on this issue simply tells you to download and manually reinstall Firefox, but I'm having to do this nearly every day. I work in IT myself so I know a "bandaid" workaround when I see one. Is there a solution to this issue?

How come that we are in 2023 and we still do not have major features like Chrome's Profiles or Orion Browser's Profiles.

For example, Orion Browser creates an app per profile and this allows MacOS users to customize each app with a different icon. This seems small but on a taskbar we can differentiate the instances faster.

Why is that the best option for managing profiles in Firefox is the Firefox Profile Switcher, a third-party tool supported by a community member?

Will this ever be addressed? Firefox is better than the others in so many things but, for example, even Safari implemented Profiles now.

To be clear: containers are NOT the same thing as profiles and profiles still have an usage. For example, my work profile has no syncs, different extensions and stricter configurations than my personal profile and this cannot be done with containers.

only sometimes, when i get a new tab, from double click or anywhere else, appears a blue circle on the left side of the tab bar, it comes from the browser it gets bigger. ive just seen it from the corner of my eye. it just happens real quick

I have the latest version of Firefox (124.0.1) that I'm using on macOS (14.4). The problem is that the whole top section of the browser (tab bar, location bar, and bookmarks bar) is dimmed out a lot of the time. Including when the browser has desktop focus. This, as you might imagine, is very annoying.

Don't know what's changed, I haven't done anything to Firefox that would make this happen. Wondering if this is a bug in the latest version that will be fixed, or if I need to pursue this. My plan would be to log out of my Mozilla account on the browser, reset all the settings, then log back into my Mozilla account in the hopes that this is something that won't survive that process; i.e. not saved in my saved settings.

I'm about at the point of stopping use of Firefox, which I really don't want to do, if I can't fix this due to eyestrain from squinting at dimmed tabs, etc. If this is a release-related problem, I can put up with it until it's fixed.

Before updating Firefox to 123.0.1 (64-bit) + MacOS Sonoma, I could use FIDO2 on OnlyKey and login to my proton mail. Now, however something has changed on Firefox that I get presented with two prompts to touch my usb key, but the key itself doesn't respond to the second prompt and login fails.

I first get this prompt as before. I select 'Authenticate' and would be presented with the second picture. Since my key is not expecting to be touched, nothing happens when I touch it and login fails with the message displayed in the last picture.

You can define a certain shortcut in Apple ios or os x systems for example: typing 'cul' we get a full text: "see you later". It's not working in Firefox for some reason. Is it possible to implement this feature in Firefox. Lack of it is sooo PIA.

I would like assistance to enable javascript. Chase bank says in orderto perform activities, I need javascript. So, do other sites. I never had this problem before 2 weeks ago. Not sure what is causing this. I tried following instructions online that said I had to get to Firebox 'configure' box, but the instructions were too vague, bc I didn't see the prompters they said I should choose from? I turned off the translator popup via about:config and browser.translations.automaticallyPopup to false. Now translation is gone. How can I keep the option to quickly translate a page in the address bar without having the popup jump in my face each time I open a new tab, forcing me to click it to make it go away? This would be a nice option but an extremely distracting presentation. thanks.

I have used Firefox with sync since sync were released. Today (25th dec), all of a sudden hundreds of saved passwords are gone, just 9 out of at least 200.

I have changed the password for my account and logged in. Tried to logout and login again but just 9 passwords is found, extremely frustrating!

Anyone got a clue what has happened?
