Hi, After recently updating my Firefox Web Browser (Version 40.0ß), I have noticed that the 'searchplugins' folder has disappeared from the 'browser' folder. I am currently using Ubuntu MATE 14.04 LTS. So this folder would be in /opt/Firefox/browser. This problem is also the same in Windows 7 (C:/Programs Files/Mozilla Firefox). Therefore I cannot import my customised .xml search plugins into Firefox. Please could you help me?

I'm extensively using Firefox everyday on my notebook (if needed - it's ASUS N550JK with Windows 8.1) and I have like 100+ tabs (but only like 10 of them loaded at the same time). As I'm working on notebook I close Firefox (or restart or whatever) very rarely. So after some time like a day (don't actually know exactly) Firefox starts gradually loosing performance like scroll becomes more choppy and etc.
As my profile is very old I tried resetting it twice already (the last time was a couple of versions ago), but it's all the same. What can I try in this case?

My bank web page seems to only fully work with the Microsoft Browser. In the conversion to Windows 10 the IE view stuff has stopped working as Internet Explorer has been replaced. Will there be an extension to view a page in Edge be available soon.
This is only a speed bump as I can access it fully in the new Edge Browser, but like the flexibility to be able to get to my bank from the Firefox browser which I have come to love for its flexibility and quickness in fixing issues.

I have recently upgraded from Windows 7 Pro 64-bit to Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. I have finally got The latest version of Firefox to work. However, if I shut it down I cannot access it unless I restart my computer. I had this problem a couple of years ago with an older version of Firefox. This caused me to migrate to Chrome. I recently came back to Firefox because it would restart. Now with Windows 10 I am back to having to restart as Chrome will not function and I don't like Edge. What do I have to do to resolve this issue?

I can't say for sure if this is only after a version update or not. The most recent time I don't think it was but I can't be sure.

This evening I moved from Firefox 40.0 beta to 40.0 released on my old Lenovo R61 laptop running Windows XP SP3. Last night I ran the Giants game on this laptop so I know everything was working, the only thing that has changed is the Firefox update. Now I get an "Adobe Flash must be installed" every time I try to run the MLB At Bat from the MLB website. So I went to Adobe and installed the newest rev of Flash AGAIN ... no change. I'm stumped ... I'm going to dig out my iPod and watch the rest of the game on it. Grumble .....

I have replaced the page with a blank page completely devoid of any coding and still the message is displayed.

I'm running an updated version of Firefox 40.0 (beta channel) on Mac OS 10.10.4 and am experiencing an error with Sync.
Sync is constantly failing with the following message "Sync encountered an error while synching: Unknown error. Sync will automatically retry this action." It has not successfully synced in perhaps a week and so that message is all but permanently affixed to the bottom of every browser window.
I've pulled the latest log from about:sync-log which I've uploaded to PasteBin (http://pastebin.com/HVeRr33a). The relevant bit seems to be the following three lines:

What can I do the fix the database disk image? Additionally, what causes the image to become malformed and how can I prevent that?

Search plugins “loaded from a distribution” supposedly still work, so how do I make my plugins “from distribution”? By the way, this sort of patronizing behavior (as with the new add-on signing) is really very annoying. Regards – Tom.

I downloaded Firefox (v 40) and installed it, and now want to apply my Firefox profile (which I understand includes bookmarks) to the newly installed version of Firefox. I have read articles about where to find the profile, but have not found one that explicitly says how to get the profile to be recognized by a new download/install of Firefox. First, in the old version when I clicked the tools > options, it always opened in a pop-up. I really liked that. But, now, it opens in a new tab. Is there some way I can get it to open in a pop-up again? The second thing is the appearance of the "add-ons" page. After upgrading to version 40 this morning, HP simple pass is broken yet again. I tried the usual, uninstall and reinstall of both applications. The add-on is marked always activate. Still works in OS and IE. It also worked again when I downgraded to v 39.
Is it possible to use swipe gestures left and right on a touchscreen to navigate forward and back with firefox?
