I-Firefox Isithangami Sokwesekwa

I have been facing a very strange situation/bug (likely some addon breaking my Firefox) where I am not able to navigate/load certain sites and certain pages. Here are details:

What is working: 1. I can go to google, amazon, yahoo, and certain other websites home page, and type certain queries in the google.

What is not working: 1. I can't load Duckduckgo(dot)com, nor ddg(dot)gg 2. Though I can open Google(dot)com, but I can not search anything in Google. I can see autocompleted/suggested results in Google, but nothing happens when I click on those autocompleted/suggested queries (screenshot attached, see lower left corner, *.gstatic.com/*.google.com is loading forever). 3. I can't open any addons/extensions. For eg. Tab Session Manager, or even Bitwarden does not load when I click on it, except it shows a pixel on the right corner of addon button on Firefox Toolbar (screenshot attached for that pixel towards the right lower corner of the icon).

What I have tried already - 1. Firefox is up to date as of a few minutes ago. 2. Underlying OS is up-to-date as of a few minutes ago. 3. I have tried disabling all addons and it did fix the problem. 4. I tried changing theme (which was default black) to default, and it did not fix the problem. 5. Tried restarting PC and it did not solve the problem. 6. I tried troubleshooting mode and it DID fix the problem while I was in troubleshooting mode, at least sites were loading. But as I exited troubleshooting mode, addons started loading for a few seconds, and then once Firefox is loaded fully, I started experiencing the same problem. 7. Tried toggle HTTP3 enable/disable, which did not fix the problem. 8. Followed Firefox troubleshooting guides, it did not solve the problem (except troubleshooting mode). I tried disabling hardware acceleration and disabled any protection modes, DNS over HTTPs and other settings which might interfere in site loading - none of that worked.

My hypothesis so far - As I can access some sites on the internet, I have ruled out DNS issues and networking issues. I tried disabling all addons and it did not fix the issue (except when in troubleshooting mode) - which tells me addons are not necessarily a problem. However, I could not find what all things troubleshooting mode disables, and perhaps I should find that out. Could anyone please share any insights or your thoughts on what I might be missing? Firefox is my primary browser and a lot of my tasks are pending from over a day now. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot!

I am using Firefox Developer Edition 127 b07, and that happens also in safe mode.

It used to work not too long ago with FF, and it works with Chrome latest.

Images and graphical elements (even the checkmark or the confirm image at the bottom of this thread creation page) disappear when scrolling down. This started after today's update. I've tried creating a new profile, troubleshooting mode, disabling hardware acceleration, disabling dark reader, changing the windows override settings to NEVER - NONE OF IT WORKED!! I'm getting really ticked-off by this crap! Didn't have this problem until the newest "great" update!

When I open Firefox, it is only a quarter of the browser in the right-upper quarter of the screen. How can I make it so the browser opens fully in the entire screen.

Hello! My name is Anya. I am desperately trying to manage my social media addiction and to help support that I am wondering if its possible to disable the privacy window. I know I can install a website blocker - which I have, but it does not apply to the private window so I have full access to social media on it, I just have to log in. I want to COMPLETELY block Facebook and Instagram off of my laptop. Is this possible? Thank you!

I have all my passwords stored on Firefox on my macbook pro. When I follow the instructions to sync my passwords on the Firefox app on my phone, it keeps rejecting my primary password, saying it is incorrect. I have deleted the app and re-installed it on my phone, but it still does not work. Why will my account not open on my iphone app? Thank you!

Hello, I have a very weak internet connection and I've been experimenting with ways to lessen the burden of the slow connection by increasing the time that the cache from websites can stay on my computer (I've already increased browser.cache.disk.capacity and set browser.cache.check_doc_frequency to 2, but the files still end up expiring eventually forcing them to be re-downloaded even though I know these cache files never change).

So far I've had some success with this extension (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/cache-longer/) it definitely works but very inconsistently so I've tried to directly edit the cache files found in Profiles\someprofile.default-release\cache2\entries but every time I edit the max-age on the cache-control line or any other line firefox just erases the cache file completely then re-downloads it.

TL;DR - Is there someway of getting firefox to ignore the cache file expiry dates and cache-control age or at least editing these files to extend their life?

i'm missing some of the default search engines in the bar ebay and amazon. i hit the button "restore default search engines" in setting to try and fix it no luck. only give me back wikipedia, bing, duckduckgo but not amazon and ebay two sites i visit a lot.

this been happening to me for the past year and every time i had to go in the c drive and delete the mozilla folders and reinstall firefox to get them back. then use it after a month or two later they disappeared for no reason. this only happens on my desktop and not my laptop how do i make this stop happening?

Every day on the second or third tab the website will not load. If I open firefox again the site will load immediately. These can be bookmarked sites previously used one million times or linked sites embedded in a current tab. Your support pages have not helped. I'm about to ditch Firefox MS Edge!

I am on a mailing list from the Smithsonian Magazine. I receive a daily email containing links to interesting stories. The links work and take me to the correct page, however, I am unable to scroll the page up to read the article. They used to scroll, but not now when I go there by clicking a link in the email. The email also contains a link named View in Browser, and the email appears in Firefox and I can scroll the email, but if I click on a link in that email displayed in the browser, the page still will not scroll up. Problem not present in Chrome or Edge. I previously reported this to Mozilla in Feedback and to the Smithsonian about 2 weeks ago, but still no change in his strange behavior. I'm an instructor that uses Blackboard at college. When I click in the text entry box to enter my grades, I'm given a list of previously entered grades to choose from. The list is in ascending order. Is there any way to get this list in descending order? One other point, until recently it used to display the value that was used most often at the top, which was often 100. Now it's in ascending order. I've attached a snippet of what I mean.

I just did a clean install on a new windows 11 machine. Every time I close Firefox I get a report crash screen from Firefox. When I close it and restart Firefox everything is fine, but very annoying! I have search every where with no luck for a fix. I did turn off my FSecure which made no difference If it continues I guess after all these years I will have to change browsers,which I don't want to do.

I was in the middle of asking this question when I fixed (worked around) the problem so I'm posting more as a informative post as there is a lot of old misdirection out there now.

I am(was) unable to drag any URLs from the URI drop down field in the main interface to my bookmarks toolbar. Nor was any drag and drop functionality working in the "Customise Firefox" screen (right click space on url bar -> Customise Toolbar).

I have now found that resetting my zoom setting in preferences to 100% restores this functionality. The problem arose when I was using 120% zoom, NOT text only.

after the download of v.126.0 i discover my history, all of it, has been deleted. in its place is a single web site, which shows up as the only web site visited across a time span going back months. this single web site cannot be deleted from the history. it cannot be deleted through the settings menu. no new history is created by web visits. the persisting single web site is among the sites in my tool bar, but is also a site i have not recently visited (months before this happened).

I use passkey verification for a website. In other browsers, I can get a QR code to scan with my phone to login. In Firefox, I only get a popup saying Touch your security key to continue with <site> (image attached). In Chromium, I have options for both (image attached). Is this possible in Firefox?
