I do not have a G account. For work related purposes I have to utilize websites that bombard me with Sign in w Google. No settings within FF I found can stop this onslaught. Same goes for Ad Block Plus and a few others since disabled and deleted. No useful information on G's forum website. Firefox, I was under the impression your about user safety & security? Why O Why do I get this garbage from G daily in your browser 105.3 on Win 10 home without a way to disable it?

I have been having an issue for a week or more and no updates from the browser seems to fix that. The error reads: Bad Request Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit. This is occuring with a request to RBC banking. The same appears to be true but witrh different language for a request with Desjardins Insurance portal. The second link printed in red is the result after I cleared all cookies from Desjardins site. I can access many other pages within the two sites. RBC I am logged in (In black). Desjardins I am not yet as a user when these errors come up

Any advice returned by Google seems to be obsolete or only worked perhaps in older versions of Firefox. The main idea of using userChrome.css to override the default styles for Reader View does not seem to work. My userChrome.css file does work on other items though (like removing the sidebar width restriction).

Whatever advice I find via Google perhaps cites outdated CSS selectors, but current selectors do not seem to be documented anywhere by Mozilla. Moreover, I cannot find any file on my local drive named aboutReader.css when using find or grep commands in bash, those this file name is alluded to when viewing a page in Reader View and then in turn viewing source on that transformed page.

Moreover, addons that would allow me to change the colors seem to be restricted in Reader View.

It does seem like something has changed in recent Firefox updates but I can't remember when I last saw, for instance, links in dark mode Reader View that were still pink (whereas now they are blue, and impossibly dark to see, especially when you are disabling as much blue light as possible through your operating system). I need a higher contrast color for links in dark mode Reader View so I can actually see them.

I can alternatively use the Tranquility Reader addon and have custom colors, but A) that addon does not work with the Automatic Reader View addon, whereby I can always have various sites appear in some sort of "reader view" whether the native one or Tranquility Reader, and B) hitting refresh when in Reader View will defeat some soft paywalls but this does not work with, e.g., Tranquility Reader, so I still would prefer to be able to custom colors in the native Reader View feature, rather than rely on an addon.

1. Where are the current styles for Reader View even documented? 2. Is overriding them now restricted? 3. Why did the link color change from pink to blue in newer versions of Firefox (this is a terrible accessibility bug)? 4 .Where is the alluded to aboutReader.css stylesheet actually stored on my computer (it doesn't seem to be a file on the filesystem in the Firefox profiles folder, it seems more like it is embedded in the Firefox binary/executable)? 5. Will Firefox settings ever allow us to set colors specifically for Reader View (I don't mean the override settings for all web pages, particularly web pages not being rendered in Reader View ... that setting does not help in Reader View, nor would it be the desired preference for pages not in Reader View)?

Thank you.

I'm currently attempting to try out userChrome.css customization, but my profiles folder doesn't exist (I'm on windows 10). Trying to open the folder gets me the message that "[Folder name] is unavailable," and when I try to navigate there by getting to the appdata\roaming folder, there just isn't a Mozilla folder at all.

I've already tried a few things, specifically:

- making an account via typing firefox.eve -p into the windows + r folder
- I've never deleted anything from the appdata roaming folder, so I wouldn't have accidentally deleted it
- restarting my computer (+ updating windows)
- reinstalling firefox

I did attempt to show hidden file extensions in windows as well. Admittedly I'm not entirely sure if that worked, but it was something I tried. I've also attached images of my appdata roaming folder (the section of it which should have a mozilla folder), and a pic of the message I get when I try to open the folder.

Any help would be appreciated!

Amazon Sign-in problem started on 10-15-22. Amazon does not accept my password and asks me if I would like to receive a text message for verification. There is no yes or no selection displayed. I select resend text and I am given a telephone number for Amazon customer service. I go thru a 15 minute security verification process and Amazon tells me if I do not answer any questions correctly, they will cancel my account. On the 2nd time I contacted Amazon, I was told to use Crome browser and not to use Firefox.

This problem happens with my personal computer (windows 10) only. My Android phone using the Amazon app works with no problems. I can also use Crome browser on my computer and Amazon works fine.

Any suggestions ? Thanks

Ever since yesterday, scroll click (I use it to scroll through websites) has stopped working in Firefox. Works in in programs, other browsers, etc., just not Firefox.

Whats weird is it still registers a click when I use it, so I can lick on links with it if I want, but the function of scrolling, either by clicking once and using my mouse to go up and down, or by clicking an holding, no longer works.

I've tried disabling add-ons, incognito mode, nothing seems to work.

When refreshing and clearing cache using CTRL+Shift+R, browser should reload all assets. However when refreshing site with @import(ed) style sheet, it does not update.

The workaround is to open the style sheet in a new tab (e.g. https://my.web.com/assets/custom.css) and run refresh + clear cache there CTRL+Shift+R, which loads the updated style sheet.

Then, upon refreshing the original site (https://my.web.com), the CSS has been updated.

Is this a bug or expected behaviour?

Greetings!

I would like to be able to open selected links via the search tool with CTRL + Enter, like it is possible on most browsers. Basically, I do CTRL + F, select a text which brings me to a link I was looking for, and do instantly CTRL + Enter to open this link. Currently, this shortcut only toggles the ability to see all matched texts and doesn't open the link.

Do you know if it's possible? Thank you!

I'm a teacher and over the past few years, I've been using different Simple Tab Groups for different courses, lesson plans, readings, topics, etc. Which has been great. I've currently accumulated 31 tab groups. A couple of times in the past, tab groups have disappeared or all bunched into one group and I've had to rescue them from History or STG bookmarks and sort them out. Which made me fear that Simple Tab Groups isn't terribly secure.

Are Simple Tab Groups pretty safe, or risky to maintain in the long run? Should I switch to a different Tab organizing / Tab saving program or add-on or app? If so, is there a way to migrate the many many tabs I've saved?

Thank you, whoever's out there!

What is with Firefox lately. Endless problems with screen sizing, light dark mode. But what is really pi**ing me off is the inability to connect to certain web pages. No I don't have a any spyware or viruses (I have scanned with 3 different programs) and I have no problems with connecting to the pages with Chrome or Edge. I'm getting the error messages

Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to www.amazon.ca because this website requires a secure connection.

Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to www.ebay.ca. Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to www.google.com has a security policy called HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS), which means that Firefox can only connect to it securely. You can’t add an exception to visit this site.Error code: SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER

And I get the same warning with Amazon, eBay, my email client Shaw Mail, Google Search, and several other pages that require a login. Is there anything I can do to fix this as I'm really starting to rethink my preferred web page browser?

some firefox has kept my username and password for my bank.

i go to that page and they are both prefilled. I have tried to use the password manager to remove them but failed. I did find an entry and clicked to remove it but it still does it.

How can I get this out of the system? Pretty serious, eh?

And it is firefox, not cookies. I have a cookie manager and there's no cookies for the site.
