An update to Thunderbird has somehow removed all my inbox sub folders and all remaining messages in my inbox are blank, ie. there is no message body showing for any of my messages.

I tried right button clicking on one of my account's inbox folders and going to properties, repair folder and all my inbox messages for that account prior to about a week ago were removed.

My profile folder still shows as being approx 13Gb in size so hopefully everything is still there. Somehow everything seems to be pretty messed up. About Thunderbird shows I'm running 115.5.2 with a button below to update to 115.6.1.

Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this?

Hi Just updated Linux Mint from 20.3 to vs 21. Firefox Help now shows FF version Mint - 001-1.0 121.0.1

Also shows that FF updates disabled by Administrator.

Is this the latest version for LM 21 ? And how do I enable updates automatically?

Hello. I need help getting Thunderbird to stop marking and sorting certain emails as threads. Seems to be completely spontaneous and for no apparent reason, even in the inbox. I have never actively marked emails as threads. I've tried to remove the "threads" function in the folder settings, but it doesn't seem to have helped in some cases. I also need help with getting the email "unstuck" from the thread structure, I have tried "Ignore threads" and "Ignore subthreads" with the result that the email disappeared. The documents I have seen have not been of any help. Reply preferably to my usual e-mail address, have a bit of ours with mail in the G-mail account.

I can't receive emails at any address from those in Thunderbird. I have several addresses, some in Gmail but not all. And in each of them I get this message: The STAT command did not succeed. I was trying to get the answer to a simple question: How do you change the default sender in Thunderbird? The problem comes up when you click a "mailto" from a web page. The FROM address that was coming up was not one I wanted. Asking the question about the default sever brought up more than 150 discussions. Only after reading many them for more than half an hour, did I find the answer: In Account Settings, select Account Actions, then select Set as Default. Why isn't there a searchable user manual that would provide the answer to a simple question quickly? OK, the question may not be that simple because 'default sender' may be ambiguous. It might refer to the default SMTP server (the one used if you specify "Use default server" in your account settings for outgoing server). Or it could be the default identify, if your account has more than one identity (others, like me, may be pleased to learn you can have more than one identity in an account). In my case case, it meant the default account. But the number of meanings is finite. I have established a group in Thunderbird. I want to send a group email to all the individuals in my group. I believe that in the past I could click on the group name in the address book and have all the emails within the group come up in the To line of the email. Now I have to click on the group and then on each individual, which sends their email to the To line, but then when I click on the second person, the email is sent to the individual in the To line of a new email. How can I choose at one time all the emails of individuals in the group?

I've been looking for some ways to import GMail takeout exported mails files that use MBox format. Googling I found some extension to do it, named "ImportExportTools NG". I've tested and it seems to have some issues : for example, after importing some MBOX files, the mails counts doesn't match GMail's values. I have not spent time to diagnose it yet...

I've also tried to simply put my MBOX files in my TB local folders and it seems to work.

Please, could someone confirm that this last trivial way actually works, and thus there's no need to any extension or tool ?

Running 115.5.0 and want to export my contact list to be able to use it in a spreadsheet. The export function in the Tools dropdown only allows for export of "accounts, messages, address books and settings to a ZIP file." What happened to the ability to export just the address book separately to a csv file? Please help. Thank you.

I've been trying to sign in to pinterest, duolingo, etc using the 'sign in with google' option since my account was saved there. Whenever I click it, a sign in window opens up as usual, but it only ever shows a blank screen. No matter how long I wait, nothing shows up. I tried clearing cache, and it still didn't work. It worked before, but recently since the past 2 weeks, it became like this and I don't know how to fix it.

Please help me restore my browsing session :(

For the past several months I have been using Mozilla, and the feature to restore previous browsing session has always worked well. Even after I clear the most recent history or remove the most immediate cookies, this feature would still work e.g. after I restart my PC or just restart the browser. It would restore all the tabs I was using previously including the most recent tab I was on before the browser closed or restarted. However, this morning, I tried to clear my immediate browsing history as I usually do and the browser froze while I was in the process of clearing this immediate history (continuously displaying the pop-up window/interface for clearing history and not allowing me to do much else on the browser - I couldn't even click anything on the tab I was on, nor could I navigate to another tab and/or open a new tab; and only the close button, and maximize window button, and minimize window buttons were responding). After waiting for a while for it to start working again, I got frustrated and I closed the browser.

I then opened the browser again, but this time, it didn't restore the previous browsing session and didn't even take me to the last tab I was on.

What could have happened this time around? It has not behaved like that for this whole year.

NB: I have not done anything to the browser after opening it! I am still on the same page it landed on when I opened it (just in case).

I am assisting my friend Lindsay in aged care to enable him to continue to use Thunderbird for email. Currently TB will receive mail but unable to send.

This is complicated in that Lindsay is paying iPrimus.com.au a monthly fee to enable him to use an old email address xx@bluep.com. I can log in to the iPrimus web portal to send and receive xx@bluep.com emails, https://webmail.iprimus.com.au/?_task=mail&_mbox=INBOX.

I downloaded Thunderbird version 115.6.0 (64-bit) on my pc this morning and the Auto Set Up configured mail.bluep.com as the incoming (POP) and outgoing (SMTO) servers. Mail is coming in but not sending.

I changed the outgoing server to smtp.iprimus.com.au, default port 587 however messages still cannot be sent and Thunderbird shows that smtp settings must be reconfigured.

I spoke this morning to iPrimus Tech Support who advised the default smtp port should be 25, not 587. However I have found that resetting the smtp port to 25 does not enable emails to send.

Note that I have previously set the smtp port to 587 which enabled sending on non ISP connections. This ability would be required as Lindsay is using whatever Wi-Fi service is available in the facility.

iPrimus Tech Support have suggested I should contact Thunderbird (Mozilla) about this problem.

Can you advise Thunderbird server settings for this situation.
