I've noticed lately that my Firefox keeps freezing and hanging up at random periods for no apparent reason. I have very few plugins and it even happens with them all disabled and removed. I've tried resetting Firefox to default everything yet it makes no difference.

Also I can not clear history. I've tried multiple different clear history plugins but none of them work at all. And when I try the traditional way of clearing Firefox history the window pops up and then the entire browser just freezes while 'clearing' and never gives me back control, I have to force quit and restart to regain control. And then when I relaunch the history is still not cleared!

So aside from the constant lagging and lockups it seems that any attempt to delete history whether using the inbuilt function or adding plugins messes up the whole browser.

Googling this issue it seems others are having the exact same problem with Firefox and yet any suggested solutions (reset browser) don't seem to be working for may of them.. Or me.

I use Microsoft Outlook through GoDaddy for website-related correspondence. The Outlook sign-in page has a selectable option to remain signed in, which I check. This has worked for years: each time I open Firefox, I have been automatically signed in to my email account.

Until recently.

Now, I am NEVER signed in to my account, even though I check the "Keep me signed in" box at each login.

To experiment, I downloaded Google Chrome and have been using it for a few weeks. I stay signed in using that browser, with no issues.

Any ideas about fixing this issue?

I've notice FF in the past month has stooped maintaining scroll position upon refreshing. It was working perfectly until recently. maintain scroll position upon refreshing is a key feature to my work. Please help!

New installation of Thunderbird on WIndows11 - cannot send mail - get the follwoing error message: "outgoing server smptgo.lanlime.com failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing connections. Please verify that your outgoing server SMTP setttings are correct." WHERE DO I LOOK TO FIND THESE SETTINGS///

Long time user (love it) but the browser is consuming a lot of memory. With the same windows open in Chrome, Firefox is consuming 5 times the amount making the system slower glitchy.

This has been an issue for awhile and I checked all the posted solutions. Either the software is consuming an that is normal or something is running in the background. Firefox is at 1831.5 MB as I type this.

Can I uninstall then reinstall? or is everything going to return?

I work with my tabs a lot. When I open an attachment, Thunderbird opens a new tab and buts the content of the attachment (pdf) into a new tab. Often I need to save my work and stop working that day, and just let my computer go into sleep mode with Thunderbird still open in windows. In the previous versions, I could just start working the next day, and all my tabs are populated with the attachments and information I left open the day before. With this new update 115.4.2 (32-bit) it does not retain any of the information in any of the tabs that were previously left open. It only happens when the computer has been sleeping overnight or for an extended period of time. If I put the computer to sleep and then wake it up pretty quickly it keeps the tabs just fine. Very frustrating

When I visit NeilYoungArchives.com with Firefox, the formatting of the site is "broken." None of the icons line up properly or are in the same place. It happens every time I visit the site since the last update even in a Private session. This does not happen for any other browser. It is at the current version and runs on a Mac

How can I stop Firefox refreshing each time I have to leave to approve a purchase or get Info for a form please. It's so frustrating. I literally tap back on the window and it updates. No one seems to know why.

Runs normally fast on my external monitor, but not on the laptop's internal display where it's really slow. In the beginning seconds of using mail, it runs great. But then after a few seconds the graphics are running slow. Mousing around, switching between emails, etc. - basically any interactions with the UI are really slow, makes it barely usable. But why is it that when I'm connected to an external monitor, things run ok?

I'm using Thunderbird with my hotmail account and have never had a problem before yesterday. Now I get this error message. "Unable to write the email to the mailbox. I decided to migrate from chrome to firefox, sadly, my experience has been faced with random slow downs or partial loads even on a fresh install. It's weird but it seems that at random times some websites will refuse to fully load or even start loading, it appears that the app is just hanging. This is usually fixed after several refreshes. Oddly enough, even on a fresh install, if I attempt to load up the same website while in private browsing, it loads right away, again this is consistent even on a fresh install, the attached image was an attempt to load youtube after signing in on a fresh install without add-ons, I tried loading up youtube in private and it worked right away. Chrome wasn't presenting this problem on my computer for years. Any ideas? My computer specs are high enough where they shouldn't matter. I'm running an AMD GPU (7900 XTX) but I haven't found any know issues regarding these, to even discard that, I disabled hardware acceleration, but the issue persisted. Running up to date windows 10, installing latest version of firefox.

Cannot send or reply to emails. Can receive them fine. Alert message says "An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded >jlheiman@charter.net< sender rejected. Check account address settings and try again." Account settings are correct. What do I do?

Hello. Currently receiving the following error pop-up with Thunderbird 115.4.1 on Win 10 22H2:

"Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox."

This occurs when fetching new email from an sbcglobal.net POP3 account. Settings: inbound.att.net, port: 995, SSL/TLS, OAuth2. These settings have worked successfully for years until yesterday NOV 6 2023.

I have several other POP3 accounts all using the same settings shown above but none of them are triggering the pop-up error.

Can an expert please advise the specific conditions that trigger this error so I can determine where the fault lies? Example: Is this Thunderbird's interpretation of an error condition being transmitted by the email server requiring interaction with service provider? Is this Thunderbird's response to an internal problem like not enough disk space? (even though there is plenty)

A solution would be nice, but an explanation re: the triggering mechanism is absolutely required. Thanks.

For the past couple of months I have been experiences tab crashes every day when watching a specific streaming service called wowtv, all my other tabs are fine and work flawlessly. Additionally, after restoring the tab or opening it anew it works again for the next few hours until the next crash occurs. Netflix, disney+ and others work fine as well. So far I have tried reinstalling firefox as well as try other browsers where said issue doesn't occur. I sadly don't have the error message or anything but the video freezes just before crashing, neither closing all tabs 'nor trying an older firefox version fixed it for me.
