I keep getting this message that pops up in a private window to restart to keep using firefox. Everytime I click restart Firefox, it closes my tabs and opens them again. However, 5 minutes later the window pops up again. Even after repeated attempts of updating, even doing a full restart on the computer, Firefox continues to send this window to me. The private window in the bar says about:restartrequired.

I've tried uninstalling Firefox with a fresh install as well as doing a Refresh of Firefox. Neither seem to solve this problem.

Support needs to take their head out of the sand! With the latest release of Thunderbird for iOS it does not work when trying to type a message. The default is "preformat" and trying to change it to paragraph or other does not work. Older version works on my MacBook Pro (2011). My MacBook Air, Thunderbird writing message does not work. Glad I did not contribute money! Oh well must be a way to get folks to purchase Office 365, Outlook?

I need to set up several gmail accounts in Thunderbird. The accounts exist; I can see email by going to gmail's webmail for them. I'm running Thunderbird 115.10.1 on Windows 11.

I choose Tools > Account Settings > Add Mail Account then provide the name, email address, password, then TB validates the credentials with gmail's systems. I get a green light message saying that gmail found the entries. I then provide the appropriate POP3 server name and port address and the appropriate SMTP server name and port address and confirm security settings - all of which were verified and carefully edited when entered. TB then sends the information to google and after an very long delay returns a message saying the attempt failed, probably due to incorrect password or settings. All of the information and settings - including the password which was copied and pasted AND the same one used to log in to gmail webmail - are correct.

Obviously, I'm doing something wrong but don't know what. The error message is so generic as to be unhelpful.

Can anyone help me discover the problem?

My Windows virus protection shows nothing but I keep getting notices int he lower right corner of my screen that say Mozilla Firefox ESR and tell me there is an infection. It tries to take me to a website to scan and then buy McAfee to fix it. If I make sure Firefox is shut down (forced through Task Manager) it seems to go away. It appears that only the Firefox browser may be infected.

Firefox takes about 5 minutes to load every it launches, before working smoothly like it should. This problem occured first time yesterday morning, and I have no idea what could have caused it.

It happens :

• when I launch firefox normally (whatever the profile)
• when I launch it from the terminal (it provides no output at all)
• when I tell it to launch the Profile Manager (5 minutes to see the Profile Manager appear, then 5 more minutes to launch firefox using the selected profile)

It does not happen :

• when I click "New Window" inside an existing firefox process
• when I call `firefox --help` from the terminal

Here's what I've tried :

• First, I've seen pretty much every article from Mozilla Support, Reddit or SuperUser (writing this question is kind of my last resort)
• I've tried removing and then reinstalling Firefox from Flatpak, from the Fedora repos (using `sudo dnf install firefox`) and using the manual install via the archive (v125)
• I've tried downgrading firefox (when using the package manager install) from v125 to v124
• I've also tried the Firefox Developer Edition, same problem here
• I've tried using the "Refresh Firefox" feature and restarting in Troubleshoot Mode (both are also affected by the slow startup, which makes them particularly painful to execute)
• I've tried manually deleting the `~/.mozilla/` folder (= manually deleting my profiles)

When firefox launches, it does not freezes my OS and does not seem to use many system ressources : CPU usage is normal, RAM as well, and it does not seem to read many things from the disk as well (I've seen some threads where this was the issue).

And here is something interesting that I discovered :

• loading (including refreshing) `about:profiles` is also slow and this time freezes firefox (OS reports it as not responding, I can't switch tabs and I can't see my mouse). Other about pages seem to work fine (although I did not try them all)

PS : Even if I think it has nothing to do with the issue, I prefer to mention it here : I was messing with virtual machines yesterday when the issue occured for the first time. My disk got full at some point and I don't know but it might have messed with firefox. At this stage, I had not deleted any files that could relate somehow to Firefox, that's why I doubt it would have caused anything harmful to Firefox. (instead, I mounted an empty partition from my disk to get some space)

I remember when you could select a range of messages and delete the lot quickly. This is how I maintain my email. For a while now, and still, it takes a bit to sort messages, normally for me sort is by "Correspondent". Then when I select a range and hit delete, I may as well go do something else. Thunderbird goes unresponsive for the long duration. It is a major problem.

I am still using Win10 Pro, system disk is an SSD (1 TB) and the data disk is a normal HD (4 TB). 16 GB RAM, a Lenovo tower. It is not running out of memory, the drive isn't over utilized either. A 15 message delete is slow, try over 100 messages!

All other programs run fine, it is used in electronics design mostly. This issue popped up a while ago and I kept hoping it would be fixed. It hasn't yet. The OS is kept up to date, no other changes. I do compact folders regularly, so indexes should be optimized.

When I start T'bird in normal mode, I get what you see in picture #1. Notice the custom menu bar at the top. I can still receive emails into the Inbox (but can't see or access them), and I can write an email, access the Address Book, Calendar, etc.

When I then start in Safe mode, with Shift key down, I get what you see in Picture #2. Notice that the custom menu bar at the top is gone. I have to recreate it every time I shut down and restart T'bird. That is unacceptable.

Please advise what I should do to correct this situation. If I can't, then I'm through with Thunderbird (after some 15+ years).

So I have an Excel workbook in my onedrive from MS, It was working fine on my firefox browser in my Ubuntu OS, last week it started to delete my cell's information whenever I pressed the enter, tab or arrow keys, I contacted the MS support and they get me to opened the same file on a chrome browser and worked fine... I still want to use my firefox browser but this problem is very annoying, please help me sort it out!!!

Firefox Browser 125.0.3, Flatpak Every few minutes, the mouse locks up on Ubuntu 23.10 and it only happens with I have Firefox open. I have have no extension, and history is turned off I have lived with this for months on multiple updates hoping for someone working on Firefox would figure out the issue and fix it.

This issue never happens to me on my windows PCs.

My Local Folders has become corrupted after restoring from a backup. I can't delete or move subfolders, and can only delete messages by holding down the shift key. Is there a way of repairing this? Thanks.

Several days ago, my comcast email said it couldn't connect, and after trying a couple other things, I removed the account and tried to add it back on. When I try to add it as an IMAP account, it pulls up a window that loads for a minute then says "Unable to connect. An error occurred during a connection to localhost." On the thunderbird window where I entered my password, it says "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username, or password." I logged in on a browser, so I know the username and password are correct. I tried adding it as a POP account, and that worked fine, but I need it as IMAP.

Opened a directory of pdfs from the command line using ```firefox * &``` and went on with my work. Hi, I have Windows 11, Intel processor, 64 Gb RAM, TBytes of SD storage. Lately I have been experiencing issues displaying email with attachments. It is intermittent, but occurs when I display an email with one or more attachments such as PDFs. I have a preview window open to the right of my mail list. If I click on the item in the list I see a properly formatted email in the preview window .. for a few seconds. Without me touching anything, the mail converts to HTML and the attachment is gone. Redisplaying the item goes right to HTML. Further, the HTML has nothing to do with the original message. If I go to my mail server the original item might still be there, but it might be gone. I have not seen a pattern to determine why some are gone. I need to solve this. I don't see this problem described in previous posts.

Attachments: tbird_before.jpg - preview email with attachment (personal data obscured) a few seconds later it switches to tbird_after.jpg and I cannot get the email back.

What strategies or technologies has the Firefox platform implemented to ensure efficient memory management and minimize resource consumption, particularly in handling large-scale web applications and multimedia content?

I have used Firefox for many, many years and have always loved it. Recently, it stopped loading some websites. I have read and tried everything I have read and still can't fix the problem. I have to switch to Edge to load the sites. I am tearing my hair out trying to get this fixed, but I will have to use other browsers if this doesn't get cleared up. Some sites load and most don't, but there is no rhyme nor reason to what it loads and what it doesn't. I do not have a great deal of tech know-how and cannot seem to fix this according to my research. I get no "error" messages except that the page can't load. Please help. I would hate to have to learn another browser.

My TB repeatedly downloading all the emails in my Inbox, it is slowing down TB and can't access and reply to current email due to it. Is there any solution to it without losing my data?

Apparently the latest Thunderbird update is causing our Windows 11 print spooler to stop. I've seen this problem talked about elsewhere but have not seen a solution. The spooler has to be restarted, otherwise no app/program will print, since only Print to PDF is then available. This is making Thunderbird almost useless to us. Help.
