I feel like I've been seeing people online complaining about this for a couple of years now, and it's shocking to me that I still couldn't find a solution in a thorough google search. Has anyone found a fix for the mandatory restart Firefox now pushes whenever there's an update available? Basically, out of nowhere, the program will refuse to open any new tabs or load any pages, instead giving the error message in the image. A restart is forced, and all private tabs are lost without warning. This is completely unacceptable browser behavior. As far as I know, there is no setting or about:config option that will fix this. Has anyone found a work-around?

I've been a loyal Firefox user for a couple of decades at this point, but this nonsense has me seriously considering switching to something else. Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

I was having some hard drive trouble so I formatted my pc. I did not think much of the browser favorites and tabs because they should have been synced.

This time, however, I seem to be unable to retrieve the data from my old computer, there is even a computer in my synced items (I'm hoping from the system before restoring, windows 11 on what used to be windows 10) but am unable to get anything from it, or see the history ect

My bookmarks have duplicated and I didn't do anything except try to sync with my laptop and desktop. I tried the only solution I could find, the "verify integrity - Places Database" and that did nothing. If this can't be fixed, it's time to move on to another browser.

When I want to go to the NY Times, and i type "nyt" the address bar automatically populated with the rest of the URL "nytimes.com". When I do the same thing with gmail and "gmail" it runs a search on a search engine instead of completing the rest of the URL.

Why would it do this for one website and not another? How do I fix this, I use gmail all the time so its a bit of a time waster.

When I right click on an image and select "save as", after selecting where to save it and then selecting save, firefox just hangs and is completely unresponsive, leaving me having to terminate it through task manager. No error message ever come up, Firefox just freezes.

For a while now, several bank credit card sites are not working correctly when I use my Firefox browser. It did in the past and I didn't have any problems but lately I'm having these problems happening on sites I've used for years. If I use another browser it will work with no problem. In fact after talking with some of the support people at some of the sites that won't work, the suggest trying another browser which works fine. I'm talking like American Express' website which I use a lot. There are other sites other than credit cards that are not working correctly and again, their support agent will tell me to use another browser. I have tried different remedies like clearing cache, history, etc. I only use few addons like AdBlock which helps to cut down on trackers and information gathers. I have set my preferences to clear out my history and cookies. I have used Firefox for so many years without problems and with the same addons without any problems. So what is causing this to happen? I do enjoy using Firefox but if I have to keep changing over to another browser so sites will work, then maybe it's time for me to stop using Firefox.

Starting a few weeks ago, firefox would not load any accounts via https://login.microsoftonline.com/ one one of my Macs.

I was running the latest version 121.xx on MAC 12.7.2

Nothing would fix the site issue, so I tried re-installing and refreshing Firefox. Followed all the troubleshooting steps.

Now firefox is completely broken. Tried creating a new profile. Running in safe mode, etc.

It sometimes will load pages, but extremely slow. But generally is unusable.

Firefox works on my other macs just fine (Profile uses sync with those machines)

Safari and Chrome work perfectly fine. No malware. No ISP issues. No firewall.

Please advise a fix or I guess I will delete everything firefox related.

Hi, when I try to open any PDF all I get is a blank grey screen. My settings are set to "open in firefox" and my default PDF viewer is also firefox. How can I fix this? Thanks!

Since a day or two the font size on my Menu Bar is way too small. I have been searching around and the solutions are not working or not what I want. I do not want to zoom in, I want my page size to remain the same, I only need the font size on the menu bar back to what it was. I tried the userChrome.css method and it did not work

Hi, I read through another thread where someone was having this same issue and there was no resolve because no one seemed to understand the issue. My issue is that I can't clear the "Save Files to" setting under "Files and Applications\Downloads" and leave it at "Always Ask". What I wind up with is a lot of clutter in my Downloads folder. So my question is, How do I correct this setting so FireFox stops saving files in places that I don't want them saved?

My old email keeps showing up when Firefox is trying to auto fill email. How do I change that in Firefox. Same with addresses, My mailing address is shown in many different ways, all variants of my actual address.

Also, I have some kind of browser hijacker (BING) that keeps directing me to Bing website. I have tried the standard procedures as outlined, bu t still BING often redirects my searches. I am also working with my anti-virus people to try to correct, but thought I would ask you as well. Here's where it took me when I searched for cookies (like you bake in the oven): "https://www.bing.com/search?ptag=ICO-86655dbd68d344bb&form=INCOH1&pc=1AWL&q=cookies"

I am an experienced Firefox Add-On user.

I have installed Firefox on a new build Windows (10) computer. Only 4 of my 8 installed Add-Ons will show on the Task Bar

This is not a problem on my two other Windows machines that share the same Mozilla account for Bookmarks & Passwords. (Other machines are also 4K displays).

I have uninstalled then reinstalled Firefox several times on the new machine, nothing seems to work.

I suspect there is a simple fix, but it eludes me.

Suggestions?

Hello, sir my blog is new update. i use google chrome speed is normal opening blog. i try some firefox open my blog some speed down in opening.

I reset my pc and don't remember password I have logins that I don't have saved anywhere else on this account so I don't wanna reset it normally I only was able to login with login through google and I can prove I actually own the account in anyway other then password cause i changed it a bit ago and just can't think of the whole thing

I reset my windows 10 installation thinking that it would be similar to a "backup and restore", but it wasnt. I wiped out nearly everything I had installed.

I hope that can learn how to load bookmarks from saved favorites folder.

Any help?

I am trying to delete the add on extensions and when I click themes and extensions, manage your add on does not pop up. It is causing problem with trying to download videos with dwhelper because the add on extensions pop up not the video download. Please help. Thanks

I am having a problem with my Firefox homepage. There are several things going on like the red, yellow and green dots on the left side of the menu change to light dark. Some of My Bookmarks appears twice and one was added. I did a Refresh and troubleshooting but to see if my home page would go back to normal but it did not. I think I have a bug that is causing these changes on my Mozilla Browser. I need to get the browser back to normal.

With my previous browsers--such as Chrome and Brave--I could automatically get into key sites without signing in every time. I thought this was due to cookies that my login passcodes. In the case of Google, it is by far the most challenging. Despite having a gmail account since early 2003, and using Google regularly since the '90s, it persists in asking me lots of questions and texting codes, etc.

My situation with Firefox is not working smoothly as it was when I used it for many years about a decade ago. I've already imported such browser data from these sites.

Can you help? Otherwise, I'll move on to Safari again.
