I just got a new computer and had my info transferred. It is probably the latest version of Firefox on the new computer now. On the previous version it seems like Favorites was spelled out toward the top of the page on the left hand side. I see now it is just a star icon. Is there any way to get it the way it used to be? I'm sure I will get used to it the new way, but I still liked it the other way. Thanks

Hi folks, I am wondering if there is a possibility to add a strikethrough icon to the compose window. I use strikethrough quite often and it is very inconvenient to go to the menu each time. I can find only addons for earlier versions of TB. Thanks

I do like how I can change the toolbar buttons that Thunderbird shows when I open Thunderbird. That is, I other mouse button click on the toolbar and select "Customize." I have a panoply of buttons to choose from, to arrange as I wish on the toolbar.

But, when I am reading an email, the buttons I see on the top left of the email window are: "Reply, Forward, Archive, Junk, Delete, More" (in Settings, I have "'Open messages' set to 'in a new message window'."

I have not been able to find a similar "Customize" ability for the toolbar of the message window.

Is there such an ability?

The reason I ask... I'd like to have similar control over that toolbar to that I have on the other Thunderbird toolbars. But I cannot find the appropriate Customize option.

What am I missing?

Hi, I am running Thunderbird v. 115.9.0 on Windows 10 on my desktop. I have been forced by Rogers in Canada to migrate my internet service from their legacy internet service to Rogers Ignite with its Ignite (Comcast) gateway. My email accounts were supposed to be migrated automatically, but, for reasons unknown, were not, and a tech support representative had to migrate them from the old legacy service to Ignite. After that was done, I opened Thunderbird, and was asked to authenticate my 2 Rogers/Yahoo email accounts, one of which is my primary account, the other a secondary account. I was asked to authenticate the secondary account first, which went well. I then clicked on my primary account in the left-hand pane and was again asked to authenticate, but the dialogue box showed it was for the secondary account. Thinking that this secondary account authentication was just being repeated for no particular reason, and not thinking that the email address in the authentication request box could be changed, I clicked Agree. My primary account is now showing the exact same emails as are listed in the secondary account, and I'm extremely concerned that I will not be able to recover all of the thousands of emails in my primary account, many of which are business-related. When I log into my primary account on the Rogers/Yahoo mail website, the emails in the primary account are still showing, so I know they are still on the Rogers IMAP server. However, I really want to continue to use my primary account on Thunderbird. I'm not sure if I should delete the primary account and recreate it - the Rogers support tech said that deleting the account may result in an issue where my current password for a re-created primary account may not be recognized, so I'm leaving things as they are until I hear back. It the advice is to not delete and recreate the account, what steps can I take to recover the emails on my primary account in Thunderbird. been getting a printing error the last couple days this message "error occurred while printing". Printer then puts out partial page(s) then stops printing. been trying to print copies of tax forms ( 11 pages)?? page that print shows Firefox in top left corner of page. Today same problem with a four page email print job.

TB v115.8.0 (64-bit) Closed the app and went to dinner Came back and opened the app. All the tasks are GONE!!!

I know TB keeps everything in text files, so I found the "calendar-data" folder and opened some files using NOTEPAD.EXE to find keywords I know represent my tasks. Sure enough, the data is there in the sqlite files.

What's the secret code that simply decides to not open those files and populate my task window?

I'm having the same issue as previously posted below. I am on a Google pixel 7 pro.

"On youtube mobile site or a reddit video, when I click the bottom right button to fullscreen the video, a message pops up that says 'entering fullscreen mode' (with a firefox logo on the left of the message) and then firefox closes and I'm at my android home page

This seems to happen when I watch videos in a new instance. If I reopen firefox to the video and then try fullscreen again, it goes full screen no problem. So basically it's annoying and happens when I try to watch any video full screen for the first time.

Is this a known bug? Wasn't an issue on my old phone (I just got the galaxy s23). "

It has been observed that when a user uses the Firefox browser and tries to download a DDD file, the file format is .pdf instead of .ddd. In the devtools, it was observed that the content-type is text/plain in the response to the request. I changed the content-type to application/octet-stream, but the error still persists

I thought half my apps were gone randomly, then I realized they are all the ones that were web pages Saved to Home Screen, by Firefox! I'm very upset because there's no way I can remember all of them, how can I restore?? Android, no desktop fixes please!

I'm using the latest version of THUNDERBIRD for WINDOWS (now 10 HOME), but this problem has existed for years with previous versions of THUNDERBIRD and former releases of WINDOWS, both HOME & PRO releases. And, it seems to be very specific. When i receive e-mails from (especially) 2 friends who both use AOL as their e-mail client, when I receive them, the imaged files (or memes) are always 'converted into attachments, and what shows in the Body Text of the e-mails is empty boxes. Yet, when I get e-mails from others, including from commercial sources, if there are images within the Body Text, they are present there. This IS very annoying because many times the e-mails I get from these two friends are technical e-mails, with clarifying images as part of the Body Text. When I have mentioned this to them, their responses are that n one else complains, only me, and so the problem MUST BE at my end, but that doesn't make sense, since when I receive e-mails from others (Gmail, etal.) any included images are fully where they belong. ++++++++++++++++++++ Secondly, WHY is it that when there are threaded e-mails in the Sent folder, the ARROW to expand the thread appears at the left side, but in the Delete folder the ARROW appears between the title of the e-mail & the next column? This IS very annoying!!!! Also, when I'm in the DELETE folder, sometimes only two options appear at the right side: Archive Delete, BUT in other incidences, there's a plethora of alternative options, and the Delete option is positioned in a different place. More often than not, I click on the option to send it e-mail to the Archive folder, when I really wanted to Delete it permanently. Another major annoyance!!!! Thank you robert herold

The attendees I select are not receiving their invites to my calendar events. My version of Thunderbird (TB) is 115.9.0 (64-bit). I check my sent folder and it does not send. Older versions of TB, the Calendar invite worked and I can see it was sent from the sent folder. Please note that I am not tech savvy and I need a solution that an average person can employ. If someone has a solution, please get it in step by step instructions and assume I know next to nothing.

Logged into Mozilla, Sync now does nothing, "Last synced: never" Also crashes frequently all since last update.

Sadly, my old Windows 10 PC crashed, and I'm migrating to a new computer. I have a backup of the old default profile folder (9k7faw1z.default), but not of the entire Profiles folder. I have tried to import this old default profile using the import function in my new Thunderbird install on my new Windows 11 computer.

Alas, I get the error message "Import failed unexpectedly; more information may be available in the Error Console." I looked in the error console, and it's empty.

Is there a better way to import my old data from my old default profile folder? It's 3GB of valuable data and I'll be in a pickle if I can't access it.

I can’t find a password I just saved onto Firefox in Passwords . When I search for the site in Passwords it says there is no matching login and provides no password.

I have encountered a recurring issue specifically with Firefox where SVG images fail to display unless a pixel-defined height attribute is explicitly set. This behavior contrasts with other browsers, which handle SVG scaling seamlessly, typically adapting to the specified width or inheriting dimensions from parent elements.

During our website development, primarily through Elementor and leveraging Flexbox in a WordPress environment, this discrepancy becomes evident. The issue persists exclusively in Firefox, confirmed through extensive testing across various browsers and OS's with multiple SVG files and sites.

For diagnostic purposes, I recommend conducting controlled tests with SVG images embedded with our current setup. Set the SVGs to 100% width without defining their height and observe how they render in Firefox compared to other browsers. This should help ascertain whether the behavior in Firefox is anomalous.

I am assuming it may be with the way the markup of the SVG is rendered as it doesn't happen with all SVGs, however, other browsers appear to fix or override whatever is getting in the way from rendering...it is a strange issue.

I have included two images as an example. As you can see in the first image, the SVG isn't rendering (in Firefox) , but does render in Chrome/Safari. It only works when I define a height in px value on Firefox.

Please let me know if further information is required or if any specific steps need to be undertaken to address this issue.

I'm testing different Debian 12 on multiple VMs, it came to my surprise to see that my VPN hash I used on a website the day before was saved by Firefox on the new VM.

The Sync was on but then which one saved my form (hash)?

1. Numbered list item Logins & Passwords ? note: The hash was not a login but a form. If Firefox saves all the form, you should explicitly rename Logins by any forms/inputs.
2. Numbered list item History? note: I hope this is only URLs.

If Firefox is savings "forms" (input fields) not just "logins" then it should be explicitly written. Is it an expected behavior?
