Computer crashed. Trying to reinstall thunderbird. Thunderbird does not recognize configuration info for my roadrunner email. Thunderbird is working fine with that email on my other computer.

I set up thunderbird email account on my computer and my iphone. I can only send and not receive emails on my computer account and I can only receive and not send from my phone account. When I try to send emails from my phone the email bounces to my outbox where it sits and I get a message that says "Cannot Send Mail The sender address was invalid" I think something was off in the initial setup because this problem has persisted from the beginning however I cannot figure out how to fix it. Need help please so that email sends and receives from either location: computer or iphone.

System is win 11, latest TB, personal gmail account of long standing. I want to use TB as my email program for gmail. After installing TB, it asks for my gmail login and password, and recognizes the account, defaulting to IMAP, Oauth2, etc. When I press "done", I get a google screen saying that TB want authorization to access gmail files. But when I press "allow", the TB page shows an error message under the password field reading "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username, or password." I understand it is looking for my gmail username and password, and these are correct. I have tried this many times, including with variations: removing and reinstalling TB, creating a pw just for TB in gmail (subsequently deleted). I have read all of the gmail installation help notes at Mozilla. Most relate to a 2022 change in gmail re Oauth2. Nothing helps. Any advice?

I installed TB on my laptop but i can't setup any email: i tried gmail, yahoo and ik with the same negative result. I'm on setup page, write email and password (remember password check marked), then google page opens for verification and i allow TB to everything. For Google is ok and i received an email that confirm TB is allowed to see, modify etc but in TB error says: "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong config, username or password" but if it was wrong i can't be log on Google. About configuration, that is automatic, i have this:

I have just installed Thunderbird to my new (Widows 11) computer while still keeping it on my old Windows 10 one. But when a new email arrives and is opened ON ANY ONE of the Thunderbirds, it does not come to the other. But it still arrives to both my ANDROID phone and tablet, and still exists on the server. Seems like only ONE Thunderbird can retrieve emails, which doesn't make sense. Any help?

I recently made the (apparently) foolish decision to allow Firefox to upgrade using the Play store App. This is on a Galaxy S8 running Android 9. Firefox 109.2.0 was installed and upon opening the App, all of my user data was gone. No tabs, bookmarks, saved passwords or other settings were available.

This is unacceptable. There appears to be no way to recover the lost information, but I am opening this case to determine if there is a recovery strategy. Of course, I don't really want to run version 109.2.0 and will revert back to something that works without losing data as soon as the missing data is recovered.

I'm not sure why the Firefox Devs seem to think that user data is a disposable and unimportant item, but I would encourage a full review of their processes to determine why they have failed so badly.

In the meantime, if anyone has a method that might be used to recover the old profile data, that would be very helpful.

Some notes: 1) No, I don't use Sync (or whatever they are calling it today) because it is a security risk in my view to have any third party including Mozilla know my bookmarks. 2) about:profiles does not work. 3) I'm not sure what version was installed earlier, but AdBlock Plus was working fine, so it may have been a year or more since my last update.

Tell me how to "re" install my previous version of 113.02 and then fix this bug. Don't know where to get "old" versions to download and will old version just "install" right over the version installed and keep all the bookmarks, etc.?

I want to move TB from a win 7 machine on the C: drive to a win10 machine on the E: drive. I downloaded a fresh copy of TB to the win 10 machine and installed it in the D: drive. Completed set up and can send/receive emails. I copy/paste the profiles folders using a usb stick, putting it in the same folder on the D: drive as TB. However, TB doesn't see it. In Troubleshooting help, Environment variables, it clearly shows the roaming folder as C:, while the program is clearly D:. What have I done wrong and how do I correct it please? FF 102.3.0esr (64-bit) says 'You are currently on the update channel' but doesn't update. I see 102.5.0 is available. Originally said policies managed by organization. Enterprises Policies. I Deleted [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Mozilla\Firefox]. Enterprises Policies now gone, but message hasn't changed nor can I update.

I've read the "fixes" from 2023 and they do not work for me. I tried changing the DESCRIPTION to blank, didn't work. Changed them to the corresponding e-mail for the account. Didn't work. Changed it to "SMTP" with the corresponding e-mail. Didn't work.

It keeps changing the last one I edit to the one I edited before it. It's driving me crazy. Won't send mail unless the User Name is correct (obv.)

Whole mess started when forced to switch from Cox to Yahoo recently. Seems to be working other than TB changing the name as soon as I type in the next one in the next email address and then it not working until I change the User Name back to the proper e-mail address of the 6 accounts.

Hello, I'm having various problems with Win 11 and, before anyone says it, I can't run setup from the iso as a repair (this is one of the problem). So am finally thinking of biting the bullet and doing a clean instal. What I always find to be the biggest bedbug is setting up Thunderbird again, since I have about 6 accounts. Is there an easy way of making a copy of al the account settings to restore? Alternatively, do I simply copy back the profile(s)?

I amin 102.2.2. When I look in "about", it says it is up, to, date.

However, I get an message asking me to download a newer version. When I do that, it does not install., password does nit match!

Recently tried upgrading from 91.x.x -> 102.x.x. Everything seems to go fine, with one critical show-stopping problem -- any attempt to connect to outlook.office365.com fails. Completely.

Under 91.x.x, I use POP as server type, server name is outlook.office365/com, SSL/TLS, and OAuth2 for connection and authentication security, respectively. Set up this way, port defaults to 995. Works *perfectly* under 91.x.x.

But, using the *exact* same setting under TBird 102, absolutely refuses to connect. At all.

Any suggestions as to what to look for?

I'd love to have Firefox release version and Firefox beta installed side-by-side on my Mac. Is it possible? If not, how do I make it so without encountering weird problems? If any from Firefox's dev team are reading this, please just make this possible. Chrome and Edge do it. Firefox should, too, IMO. Thank you.

with the current changes to Gmail, its finally time for me to upgrade from Eudora to Thunderbird. I've read through some of the prior questions, googled the issues with Gmail and have come back here. what must I do to migrate Eudora to Thunderbird smoothly.

will I still have the mailboxes that I have in Eudora, what about the numerous email accounts I am now using with Eurdora?

Running latest version of Thunderbird. Have 2 email accounts. Open Thunderbird and the secondary one receives, sends all emails and all folders are listed and can be viewed. However, about 2 days ago, the main email account can display all folders and everything can be read. However, the INBOX folder says there are 26 messages, but none can be viewed. When clicking Get Messages, this error message pops up: The current operation in "inbox" did not succeed. The mail server for account xxxxxxxx.net responded: UID FETCH failed. After reaching out for help, I have done the following, but nothing works: Tried Repair Folder, deleted all .msf files, restarted Tbird many, many times including rebooting computer. My current settings are: Thunderbird Version 102.1.2 (64 bit). Previous versions 91.12.0 & 91.2.1 IP Address: 69.127.143.28. Using System Proxy Settings, SMTP Server Port 465, IMAP Mail Server Port 993, SS/TLS, Normal Password. This is Windows 10 Desktop unit. The last thing I wanted to do was uninstall Thunderbird and then reinstall, as I am getting mixed messages regarding losing all previous emails, calendar settings, etc. Any reasonable help would be greatly appreciated.

I would be very thankful if anyone would anoint me with the secret knowledge neccesary to re-add my generic SMTP email account after switching hosting providers. I'm stuck in what another poster has accurately described as "a maddening loop of impotence a maddening loop of impotence".

The problematic account opens and imports messages from the server, but I can't send any email. The pesky (and even auto-disappearing, see attachment) outgoing server password dialogue box appears and will not accept the password, no matter how many times it is pasted into the box.

Before bothering readers of this space I've read every post about the I could find about the issue here and on Reddit. Here's what I have tried:

1. Deleting the account from TB 2. Removing the saved passwords for all accounts on TB 3. Removing all SMTP servers from TB 4. Deleting the folder associated with the account from ~/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles⁩/[profileName].default-release⁩/ImapMail⁩ 5. Making sure none of my SMTP servers in Thunderbird share the same username and server settings as suggested in this thread.

I then re-add the problematic account in TB: 1. Using auto-detected settings (which match hosting providers settings) 2. Tried doing the same while in offline mode (as suggested here as suggested here) (result: the 'Done' button is greyed out and the settings revert to the previous hosting providers settings (question: where are these saved for retrieval in Offline-mode and can I delete them?))

I have four other accounts in TB with the same settings with the same hosting provider. They work and send emails. This to me pretty much rules out my port and server settings being wrong. Why can't I add my fifth account? Do I have to go through the hassle of re-installing Thunderbird and all my setup? Buy a new computer? I find this process to be opaque in the extreme and would much appreciate receiving the magic keys of knowledge. Your help is APPRECIATED. Thanks.
