Every time I start up firefox, it takes about a full minute to load. It shows an outline of the UI, but does not become usable for a while, windows also puts up a "firefox is not responding" window when the window is interacted with. After loading, opening a new window is unaffected, and page loading is snappy. just the initial launch is the issue. This remains true even after a clean uninstall + reinstall. Appdata folder was removed as well, and did not affect the issue. I do not have any antivirus software other than windows defender, so that should not be an issue. My hardware is also not likely to be at fault, as it is sufficiently up to date (upgraded within last year, not sharing specs here). Chrome starts up in less than a second for reference. Once again, a fresh install with a new profile has the same symptoms. Have tried every available guide to no effect.

I had issue with notifications (showed up but when i click on them they didnt were redirecting to original tweet) so i cleaned cookies after cleaning cookies i doesnt have option to turn on push notifications.

Firefox - latest version, in Win 11 updated version, on my home server, will not load google.com pages, but intermittently works OK - frustratng. Other browsers, eg. Edge and Chrome access sites as normal on my laptop on my home network. My laptop using Firefox will load google.com pages when on another network. Is it my server, or Google, or Firefox doing this ?? Please provide any advice on solving this problem.

Reaching my end with defects in thunderbird. I select items in the inbox/index of the UI and it isn't updating the email view pane.

Sometimes I select in the index, it highlights the message, doesn't update and then 10-15 seconds later, the UI does a big update like it had hung on something, and it just ignores my selection completely and selects whatever it wants. This is crazy.

I'll add I have a "unified folder" and despite the 3 accounts inboxes included from accounts configured to never auto update, IT ALWAYS does updates whenever it wishes. Again, this is crazy. Like it can't be supposed to work like this ?

So: Is this thing single threaded ? Is the "unified" folder functionality mature and does it work properly ? Suggestions or pointers to fix or research/test what I see is just flat out poor performance when clicking stuff in the UI ?

I really can't believe I'm questioning the basics of thunderbird.

Version is Win 10, 115.8.1 (64-bit), udpating now but I'd say I have found the basic performance to have tanked since the bug UI change to "modernize" it. Seems to me, without exact data to support that I have been degrading ever since. No updates I've made in last few months have improved anything.

Really don't want to leave but I'm about to try using it on Mac and Linux to compare and at same time I just configured all this in apple mail for the first time in maybe 10 years. This is something I never ever thought I'd do.

Last thought, I use same accounts, on iPhone (Boxer) and many iPads. I don't see any performance problems there so I'm pretty confident this isn't the mail servers.

Hey, Can't seem to find the master password feature on android that's on the desktop version. Saw a previous thread from a year ago that implied that it was cause the unlocking of the phone was enough, but that didn't make sense to me, because you have to unlock a computer as well?

I just worry that if my phone gets hacked, they would just be able to easily pull the firefox passwords, and I wouldn't mind that extra layer of protection. Any chance I missed the setting or of this getting added? Or is this something I shouldn't worry about due to the way the data is secured?

On my MacOS 10.15.7 system I upgraded from 125.0.2 to FF 126.0 this afternoon. When I started the new version of FF and acknowledged the "downloaded app OK" dialog all the tabs opened as expected except for WordsWithFriends (on Facebook). WWF draws the full board just fine but then throws a less than descriptive error message: "an error occurred. Please refresh." That is an infinite loop as it will return the same error no matter how many times retry is pressed. I logged out of FB and back in, just in case. No change. FB pages show fine, btw. Closed 126.0 and tried downgrading back to 125.0.2. That version with no longer load (or any of the previous four I had on hand). Consumes 100% of the CPU for about six minutes and then changes to Unresponsive in the Activity Monitor. WWF works fine in Safari and Chrome for what that is worth.

I just signed onto Mozilla to do some emails and my history email and files no longer appear. My address books are there and ok.

How do I get my history emails back?

I recently deleted pwnedpasswords.com from my cookies, as well as blocked this website; however, it keeps reappearing in my list of cookies.

I've never even visited this site (that I'm aware of), and it's a bit concerning to me.

In spite of clearing ALL my cookies (and blocking this website), it keeps appearing in my list!

Please advise :)

using a Mac Laptop, Email account is Optus, can receive emails ok but cannot send, getting a failure massage.. Any suggestions please?

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra running latest Android update and latest Firefox update. I set Firefox as my default browser. I have un-installed all updates for Samsung Internet and removed all permissions for it. Disabling it is greyed out. Some apps that I use have links to websites. Too frequently, when I go to one of those links, the intro screen for Samsung Internet opens. Then, when I look at the settings in Firefox it is no longer set as the default. Then I set Firefox to default and go to my phone settings to see that Firefox is selected as the default. If I open the previously mentioned app and choose the web link, Firefox will open. But somewhere along the way, the default changes back to Samsung Internet and it's a vicious circle. I have posted in a Samsung forum but haven't gotten a reply that solved the problem. Please help. This morning my Linux Mint PC notified me via Update Manager that an update to FF version 126 was available. I ran the update and it completed with no problems. I use FF as a Flatpak. When I checked the FF version in FF Help>About FF it still showed version 125.0.3 even after restarting FF and the PC. I checked the Synaptic Package Manager on my PC and it shows that my current FF version is 126. The Software Manager shows the current version is 125.0.3. Why is FF still showing the previous version after I ran the update for 126? I'm concerned that I might have a compromised FF even though I updated it via Linux Mint Update Manager like I always do for any program updates. Thank you, Colin

Mail server pop3.iinet.net.au responded: [SYS/TEMP] Account is temporarily unavailable." and "Sending of password for user kcmsansiro did not succeed. Mail server pop3.iinet.net.au responded: Disconnected for inactivity." and "Login to server pop3.iinet.net.au with username kcmsansiro failed" on all 3 accounts (kcmsansiro, phildemaria and philrossi)

I can still receive messages on phildemaria but cant send without getting these messages

I have just setup a new Office 365 account in Thunderbird and when I try to send an Email from the account, I get the attached error message.

When I click on "Enter New Password", the window goes away for a moment and then pops up again. There is no chance for me to put in a new password.

I know that I need to use an app password when not using Outlook which I have generated in my Microsoft account settings.

I have tried to go to "Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Saved Passwords" and have deleted all Microsoft related saved passwords. When I access my Email account again, I get prompted via the web login of Microsoft (i.e. different from the attached error message) and the app password I generated doesn't work, only the general password for my account works.

I have restarted Thunderbird and updated to the latest version, but it made no difference. I have gotten it to work on another computer, but on my mac mini, it doesn't seem to work.

Before I remove the account completely and add it again, is there any way I can fix this as I don't want to download all the messages again?

Is this a known bug in Thunderbird?

If any developer is reading this, In order to reproduce, you would have to follow these steps:

- Setup a Office365 account using the regular password used to login to the O365 website. - When sending the first email, enter the same regular password -> the first time, the dialog to enter the will show up, but it will fail, because the app password wasn't used - Then try to send again, click on "Enter new password" -> no dialog to enter new password is coming up.

I am using Thunderbird 115.10.1 on MacOSX Sonoma 14.1.1

The settings I have used are: server name: outlook.office365.com port: 587 username: my full email address Auth Method: OAuth2 Security: STARTTLS

FIREFOX won't print whole day of my google calendar - now it just prints when I get to the computer and print out the day - but then it skips the morning or night - BUT I can go to Chrome and it will print from 6am to 12midnight .... PLEASE get this fixed - such a pain to log in to another calendar/browser ETC all the time

I am currently in the process of integrating the Thunderbird policies and about:config settings into a Nix module for NixOS.

It would be nice to be able to easily correlate Thunderbird versions to the matching documentation version. This could be done by using tags on the documentation repository.

Would it be something the Thunderbird team could be considering to add to their workflow?

Hi I have problem trying to login Pocket app via iphone. I have tried using different accounts but it just doesn't work. I couldn't get passed the Signing page, it remains as loading once I have approved to sign in using google id/mac account.

I renamed a folder and now the folder is not showing. As the folders contains few emails and I want to those back, tried restarting the thunderbird many times. Let me know if faced the same before and found a solution for it.

Hey there. To get straight to the point, whenever I am watching a YouTube video on Firefox in full screen, every so often the screen goes black then slowly fades back in. I have no idea how to fix this issues and it is not my computer that is causing it (doesn't happen on other browsers, my computer was tested for a variety of problems and nothing was wrong, etc). I have also looked through Firefox Reddit help pages and the support articles on the Firefox support website but have found nothing to help. Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated!
