If I have a chat open or the video has a chat replay instead of showing the chat it pops up a mini browser instead. It constantly duplicates itself too, causing the video to be unwatchable with the sound constantly repeating. I've seen a couple other people with this issue but have been unable to find a solution.

FIrefox is not loading new pages from the home page- it will load history I've saved or previous tabs, but opening a new tab and searching or typing in a website won't connect. Uninstalling and reinstalling briefly fixes the issue but as soon as my computer enters sleep mode the same thing happens. IS there a way to fix this? It's been happening for about a week now.

Firefox isn't having a memory leak (RAM and CPU usage stays the same) nor is it maxing my GPU or anything like that. But if I watch enough of a 1080p60fps stream or enough 1080p60fps content in general (this stream is a notable offender: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W6OOnrx8g58), it'll start to slow down over time (generally a couple of hours) and [really chug and drop frames like its nobody's business: https://i.imgur.com/OmHqJ8a.png. This does not occur in Edge (the streams run silky smooth even after 2+ straight hours of watching), nor does it happen on other streaming sites like Twitch. It also doesn't happen in Firefox on my desktop.

Regular 1080p60fps videos are MOSTLY unaffected. The buffer wheel animation in most videos is choppy and moving back/forth with the 5-sec rewind/ff feature results in a short, choppy buffer wheel on a lot of videos(https://imgur.com/tm1AtkB), even if the video itself is mostly unaffected. Some more "intense" videos will make the fan speed go up. HD videos are *slightly* less smooth when in this state. Unpausing a video often results in a short buffer wheel before the video resumes if left paused for at least a minute or so. I also get a tiny TINY bit of frameskip on the occasional Twitter video while in this "state".

Its like the memory is "caching" something and killing the process clears that "cache", yet I have no idea what is actually doing this.

Refreshing the page/closing and reopening the stream stream has no effect, its like an affliction and will still be choppy when you reload. Restarting the Firefox session or killing the process the stream or a video is running through fixes it for awhile (even if the stream stilll drops more frames overall than it would in Edge), but it feels like I have an "allowance" of 1080p60fps content before these streams start to chug. Nothing else in-browser is lagging at all.

Reaching my end with defects in thunderbird. I select items in the inbox/index of the UI and it isn't updating the email view pane.

Sometimes I select in the index, it highlights the message, doesn't update and then 10-15 seconds later, the UI does a big update like it had hung on something, and it just ignores my selection completely and selects whatever it wants. This is crazy.

I'll add I have a "unified folder" and despite the 3 accounts inboxes included from accounts configured to never auto update, IT ALWAYS does updates whenever it wishes. Again, this is crazy. Like it can't be supposed to work like this ?

So: Is this thing single threaded ? Is the "unified" folder functionality mature and does it work properly ? Suggestions or pointers to fix or research/test what I see is just flat out poor performance when clicking stuff in the UI ?

I really can't believe I'm questioning the basics of thunderbird.

Version is Win 10, 115.8.1 (64-bit), udpating now but I'd say I have found the basic performance to have tanked since the bug UI change to "modernize" it. Seems to me, without exact data to support that I have been degrading ever since. No updates I've made in last few months have improved anything.

Really don't want to leave but I'm about to try using it on Mac and Linux to compare and at same time I just configured all this in apple mail for the first time in maybe 10 years. This is something I never ever thought I'd do.

Last thought, I use same accounts, on iPhone (Boxer) and many iPads. I don't see any performance problems there so I'm pretty confident this isn't the mail servers.

Hello, I have the fallowing issue with Firefox and the sound icon on taskbar in Windows 10 22h2, when Firefox is open and I click on the sound icon on the taskbar in Windows 10 22h2 the sound icon does not open, when Firefox is closed the issue is gone.

Any help to fix this issue would be great.

When I search with TB it is not finding all the results.

This is especially frustrating because the main reason I started using TB is because the search on my host's webmail is abysmal. But it turns out that TB search (for me) is even more abysmal.

I am sure this is happening because something is wrong but I don't know how to go about fixing it. I have already rebuilt the global database but that did not fix it. However, the new global database file is about half the size it was before I rebuilt it.

Is there anything else I can do?

I recently facing an issue that the Firefox browser randomly maxed out my RAM and went unresponsive. Like the screenshot below, I am only trying to open Facebook and Instagram, 2 tabs.

I have tried to open about:memory and about:processes to monitor but it just went unresponsive and both the monitoring just hanged.

Have no idea why the Firefox process taking up so much RAM. Need help.

When I watch a video not in the full screen mod, the colors are as dark as they're supposed to be (pic 1), but when I enter the full screen mod, the video gets pale/brigher (pic2, compare the dark zones). it's fully connected with hardware acceleration. When it's on videos get pale and when it's off they don't. But I can't turn it off because I also need it for an addon I use as it won't work without it. Someone on the forum here said that turning on layers.force-active might help with a bug of hardware acceleration. I turned it on and it helped - acceleration was on and videos didn't get pale, but then everything got back and now this setting doesn't work anymore. I also opened trouble shooting mode and videos didn't get pale with it even with acceleration on, but I don't know why, becaues when I closed it I deleted all the extensions, turned on acceleration and videos got pale again. And, this problem is only in this browser. This problem really keeps my up at night and I'm so tired of it

bold textExperienced Firefox browser session freezes a month or two ago. It seemed that some March/April '24 fixes/patches stabilized the app. They are occurring again with increased frequency. What should I do to avoid this problem or switching to another browser? Thx

I've followed all the recommendations. Problem still happens in troubleshooting mode as well. Doesn't allow sign in either. Have reloaded all C++, uninstalled, reinstalled, restarted. No links or pages will open.

I have a user who sends me an email to one of my email addresses and it always ends up in the Junk folder. I've repeatedly marked his emails as not junk but that doesn't seem to change anything.

Is there anything I can look at that will help me figure out why it happens, and hopefully find a way to fix it.

I'm on Betterbird in case that matters. I looked thru the release notes and there seems to be nothing tagged with the junk filter.

I noticed this in the X-Proofpoint-Spam-Details email headers: mlxlogscore=764 clxscore=1015

This person seems to be the only person that has this information in their headers. Is it added by the junk filter? Or is it something on the sender's side (he uses an icloud.com and a me.com address)?
