We have recently enabled background updates in our organization, however I noticed that a requirement for this to work is that Firefox needs to be run with the default profile at least once after the feature is enabled. The issue we have is that not all users are actively using Firefox and therefore they are not being updated. I realize the security flaws won't be exposed if it's not in use, but management doesn't like seeing out of date browsers. Is there a way to force auto updates on all device where Firefox isn't not being used. Background updating is working for the majority of those that do use Firefox.

Also, we do have a couple of users reporting a credential prompt when updating from 119 to 119.0.1. These same users had no issues updating from 118 to 119. I have not figured out why this is happening just yet and why only for a handful of users so far. Would anyone have an idea why that is happening?

I use a samsung galaxy A12, and I have issue with the download functionality. Whenever I'm downloading and I pause or the Internet becomes bad, when I resume the download or "try again", it completes the download but the file becomes corrupted and won't open in my phones storage. And I notice that the size of the file is always less than the actual size downloaded, which indicates that it stopped downloading into the local storage at the point it paused or network became bad.

It'll download completely, but the file downloaded into the phone becomes corrupted and useless. It's annoying that a browser has such a problem in 2023.

Please, fix up ASAP.

I have two Problems. 1st How do I delete a large number of unread and unwanted e-mails except one at a time? 2nd How do i arrange my e-mails in Date Received Order?

Good morning, I can't get to my stored emails. After reinstalling Windows, my profile could not merge with saved on my computer emails. I've moved profile folders to (...AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles...) and inbox/sent/spam/trash .msf files to Thunderbird instalation folder. Unfortunatelly, I still don't have access to my saved emails. Could You please help me with this issue?

I find impossinle to install Thunderbors pm ,u Windows 11 laptop. The different menus presented are wau to cpmplicated for an avereage person. Currently I am stuck with a dialog box the simply says "Input server already exists. Beyond this, these are several dialog boxes I don't understand.

I respectfully ask for my money paid for this program and I will delete it from my computer.\

New computer (Windows 11) shows 'Old Firefox Data'. Opened hidden files. Using File Explorer found Profile Folder & renamed it 'old'. Copied and pasted 'Old Firefox Data' as new profile. Firefox would not open. Had to remove etc and Firefox worked again. Thought this maybe the easiest way to get my Bookmarks back.

PS Presume Profile Folder does not contain Thunderbird Addresses?

How do I downgrade to an older version of Thunderbird on Rocky Linux (RHEL clone)?

For my last update (yum update -y) I got Thunderbird 115 which has lots of problems.

If I try “yum downgrade thunderbird”, I get the error: Last metadata expiration check: 3:43:41 ago on Tue 14 Nov 2023 04:57:52 PM EST. Package thunderbird of lowest version already installed, cannot downgrade it. Dependencies resolve

I downloaded: https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/102.9.1/linux-x86_64/en-US/thunderbird-102.9.1.tar.bz2 but when I unzip and click the thunderbird icon, Thunderbird doesn’t pick up my Thunderbird profile. I saw some windows downgrade tutorial that said to delete compatibility.ini from profile but when I deleted compatibility.ini Thunderbird still doesn’t pick my profile.

I am trying to download a large file. Am on a course, and the main tutor has given the group a file to download. Have tried downloading this 5 times, but get little luck. The file that I would want to download is 8.5GB, and the furthest I get is about 4GB.

I have 2 questions about this.

1) I seem to have a very 'in and out internet connection. It seems to go down at times for no reason, cutting off the download. Is there anything I could do about this? How could I troubleshoot this, please? 2) Does anybody know of any special tools that I can use to download in a more efficient manner, please? Hello and thanks in advance to anyone offering help, very much appreciated. My partner hates computers but has to deal with them for her home based work. After long struggle she has got to grips and enjoys the functionality of Thunderbird. Her old laptop is on the way out and we got her a new upgraded machine (Lenovo windows 11). a 'friend' tried to solve a problem in the past and created a second account locally on her laptop that mirrors the incoming emails to her main BTinternet mail account. however, sometning went wrong and she hasd over 15000 duplicated emails on the second back up account. We wish to istall Thunderbird on her new machine as she doesn't like to windows mail app and noy 'enjoys' (sic) the thunderbird, especially coulering emails for easy reference. we were told that if she deletes the second account, all of the mirrorede emails on the desired/to keep BT account will also be lost. we are now wondering if it is possible to download Thunderbird onto the new machine and somehow not import the unwanted account when she signs in etc. We are hoping also that when she downloads and installs and signs in.... (the above query accepted) that her folders will also import and be populated. But!... only for the account she wants. i hope this has been clear? The server is imap from BTinternet email thnaks to all who read this far

I recently downloaded Firefox and attempted to create an account- TWICE! When I attempt to use the Firefox account/ app I get a page saying I should download Firefox! I ALREADY DID!!!- TWICE. Have an application support technician check it out and FIX IT!

The newest Thunderbird upgrade has ruined my email. I cannot send email and Thunderbird no longer recognizes my settings. I want to remove this update and go back to the previous build that I had. If this cannot be fixed I will need to get a new email manager.

I am running Thunderbird 115.5.0 on a Win 7 Pro PC (yeah, I know). I recently retired and am trying to change from my work e-mail settings to my personal Gmail account. I have the incoming server set to pop3.gmail.com and the port to 995. Authentication is SSL/TLS and normal password. The outgoing server is set to smtp.gmail.com and authentication is No Authentication, with port 465. When I click on the Get Messages icon Thunderbird doesn't seem to do anything. Is there something else I need to do, or does one of the settings need changing?

I backed up a zip file using Thunderbird's built-in export backup function, reinstalled the system, and downloaded the latest Thunderbird. After importing, the password memorized by the password manager could not be recovered.

I used a primary password

There is no prompt to enter the master password when importing. There may be a process error here ?

Fortunately, I passed firefox_decrypt The project decrypted the password and filled it into the password manager

Malware has taken my backup email address and is using it to take over. [Email address] and [email address] are to of my accounts being used to steel everything. Messages, phone calls , device, etc are being stored in hidden files in Drive , application selection options are unavailable etc

MacbookPro needed service which wiped hard drive. Reinstalled back up (to Ventura), but Thunderbird app was trashed. Reinstalled Thunderbird, but I can not see received emails from 2019-2023 (now), but oddly, can see all sent emails from 2020. How do I get my missing emails and categories? The web instructions make no sense to me. As I understand, my profiles are separate from the app, but it is not clear at all how I can toggle from one to another while in Thunderbird. when i downloaded and installed Thunderbird beta it imported my account settings fine, but lost the list of automatically allowed image loading emails/urls so now i have to add everything again.

if i switch back to the stable release, how can i make sure this list is kept?

feedback - you may want to provide some way to automatically import that going between versions so its not lost (i couldn't find it after switching) and even export all settings for backup - i remember having to change region etc info (im in Australia).

I am about to lose access to my work gmail account (new job). I used Google Takeout to download all my emails in .mbox format. I then used Mozilla Thunderbird (with the ImportExportTools NG add-on) to access the emails. They are currently available in a folder called WorkEmailBackup within my local folders section on Thunderbird.

I would like to add these emails to my pre-existing personal hotmail account. I have set this account up on Thunderbird. However, when I drag the WorkEmailBackup folder into my hotmail inbox (in Thunderbird), not all the emails are copied over. Thunderbird says there are 7730 emails in the WorkEmailBackup folder, but only 2212 will copy into my hotmail account. I have tried several times, but the transfer always stops at 2212 emails, and I can see that emails are missing. I have also tried highlighting the emails individually (rather than copying the whole folder), but have had the same problem.

Please help :(
