I've had Thunderbird for very long time with the same accounts, file structure, on different verion of Windows (since XP I think), archived by MozBacup . After version 52.4.0 I stopped updating TB because I was unable to link TB to any account after the update. Now Google is forcing me to change something- I cannot login to Gmail on that old version. So I updated TB to latest version and surprise surprise, I can't log to any account. Creating new account was impossible because TB couldn't login to created acc (passwd was correct). Fresh install solved this but I lost all of my mails, folders, subfolders, filters... So ofc, I'm back on TB 52.4.0. Is there a way to update TB to latest version and not lose everything what is not on Gmail, etc.? I have thousands of thousands of mails since begining of time on my HD and I really don't feel like ready to let them go ^^ I can accept that I have to create a new IMAP proffile, but can I somehow keep my old POP (not working) and keep all of the ancient emails?

then deleted and tried to reinstall the account. i get the message that my password is wrong. i tried with googles "app password" too. didn't work.

I had to reboot my computer and lost my login information.

When I tried to restart Thunderbird I entered the details for three email accounts with the correct passwords and configurations.

For each account I got the message "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong username, configuration or password."

I have tried repeatedly, reinstalled the latest version of Thunderbird and tried again.

However, I entered all three account details on BlueMail and had no problems getting them all accepted there.

Any idea what's happening and how I can get Thunderbird to accept my email accounts?

My issue is I am constantly getting a message that Thunderbird couldn't update. I go through the motions as prompted, I've even tried shutting down Thunderbird so it isn't running.

Everything goes well, the download completes, I reboot and turn on Thunderbird. I get the same message. This has been ongoing for 2 weeks now and is very annoying. I'm willing to go through what you may suggest here, but if that don't fix the problem..it's time for a new email client. I've enjoyed Thunderbird, but just don't have the time to play these silly games. Thank You, Larry

installing outlook contact list didn't work so i deleted the address book in thunderbird twice now i want to add an address book back in so I can try again importing my contacts from outlook 2013. I spent 45 minutes lining up all the contact information with thunderbird contact fields failed deleted address book......now i need to reinstate a clean address book so i can retry.

It opened to old profile and that was fine but now I can't get Preferences to open and I don't want to lose all the extensions and setup I have done over the years.

Hi all, I forgot to import a mailbox before I switched over to new email hosting. I can still get access via the web portal at https://mail.b.hostedemail.com/. My query is, how can I config/set-up Thunderbird to downlaod all my historical mails for an account via that webportal address? (ie where do I tell it to go via the webmail and how?) Hi: I've used all previous Windows versions together with 4-6 years of using steadily (and ONLY) THUNDERBIRD Online Email Account but I've NEVER experienced this unexpected issue which has happened just a few days ago: during my daily usage of THUNDERBIRD-Email Account, I've noted one day that the INCOMING messages started to get collected in the 'TRASH' folder instead of in the originally-set 'Inbox' ...and unfortunately - have no clue what has caused this problem. I've thoroughly checked the SERVER settings but did NOT find any wrong data: according to the Email-Account setting it states to store ALL incoming mail in the 'INBOX' folder (as is usually and commonly done) ...

I've checked the Properties of the INBOX & TRASH folders and it is stated there that '....the Folder Index (.msf) file becomes damaged and by using the 'Repair Folder' Option may fix these issues' ...however, I'm afraid to use it NOT knowing if it could complicate rather than fix this problem, however - has anyone a 'good experience' with using this 'Repair Folder' Option in the INBOX & TRASH folders ...?

I've posted this message in the THUNDERBIRD Forum about 3 weeks ago but nobody could offer any effective help and advice how to resolve this rather not very complex issue so - I was wondering if there is ANYONE from the MOZILLA Programmer's development group who should be definitely knowledgeable how to eliminate this Software issue (bug) ...?!? I use Mozilla Thunderbird for my email. I keep getting a request (once every day) to update Thunderbird which is out of date. Since my Thunderbird copy is up to date, I have to question rather or not this is a scam. I refuse the update, but it again repeats every day. As a test, I reinstalled Thunderbird a couple of times and the update request goes away for a few days, then this questionable update request returns to my system. Can someone verify rather or not this is a scam? Also, how can I stop this phony update every day?

I would like to ask about how to migrate my pop3 emails and their folders from Thunderbird to MS Outlook 365. The reason is because my email account is based on GoDaddy and they changed their system last year, and recently they will use Outlook 365 based system. I have used Thunderbird from quiet long time, so now I need to save those old folders and emails from my Inbox and Outbox, migrate all into Outlook 365 so I won't lose them.

I know this sounds weird asking this question to you since it seems like I'm leaving Thunderbird. But no, I will use Thunderbird from my other account (not Godaddy's based) after this, so the emails that relate to my old works shall be moved out to Outlook 365. I must do this since the old emails still valid until now and I still use that for discussions. The guy from Godaddy (I did call them use international call) didn't assist in this matter since they don't concern with Thunderbirds trouble.

Please kindly inform me how to migrate the folders and its emails to Outlook.

I really appreciate and expect help at the soonest as my work depends on these emails.

Following a HD crash I am reinstalling programs. I have always used TB for my Talktalk emails but this time it is not allowing me to log in giving me a pop up with three options Retry, Enter New Password and Cancel

I assume the password is that for talktalk and I have checked this numerous times I have tried both whilst logged in and logged out of my Talktalk account

I don't know how to check the user name in Talktalk but it seems correct being the first part of my email address

I would appreciate any advice on how to fix this bearing in mind I am an ancient relic with little understanding of computers

On a Pop3 account I am unable to download emails from the web server. Every time I click download messages it says there are some to download but it keeps downloading the same one from Twitter which has some funny symbols at the end of the header and is not showing on the web server. I have tried clearing the trash and spam folders on the web server and have closed and reopened the web server and Thunderbird but still have the problem. Attached is screen shot of Thunderbird.

Thunderbird 68.12.1 (64-bit) on old PC have all Local Folders data, but after transfer profile to new PC with latest Thunderbird 9 of 10 folders gone. The profile visually have all data but it doesn't show up in Program. I tried to transfer all emails from local folders to the online folders but process was stuck in the beginning and all attempts did not lead to anything. Tryed:

   Right Click on Mailbox Folder (Inbox, Drafts, Sent, etc.)
   Then Click on Properties Option from Drop Down.
   Next, Click on General Information >> Repair Folder >> OK.

and nothing changed Sometimes program says that address book can not be loaded or some other messages.
