I want certain extensions to be able to run in private windows, but not in normal windows. For example, I would browse normally without a VPN extension, and when I open a private window, the VPN extension would be enabled.

I have installed TB on a new device and want to set up my mail accounts with only the last 3 months mail for each one.

I understand the IMAP account settings for "Synchronization & Storage" & "Disk Space" where indeed you can set the download by size or time.

The problem is that those settings are only accessible once the mail account is set up.

The mail account set up itself initiates the download of all mail from the server the instant the account is set up which is then not adjustable until after that initial download is complete.

i.e. there appears to be no way to stop the entire mailbox from the server being downloaded.

Does anyone know a way to time limit that initial download or indeed prevent any initial download until the account settings can be used to do so?

Hello, Linux environment is running on my chromebook, thunderbird has been installed. 2 issues: - When I try to install an extension, I always get a message "This extension will have permission to have unlimited access to thunderbird and the computer". and I'm stuck. The add button does not trigger any action. This does the same thing if I want to install a dictionary from the settings. - I have no access shared folders like my Drive on my Chromebook, despite having Linux sharing enabled. Hi, I used to be able to go to my email with Foxfire Mozilla with one click. Now I have to go to gmail, click on user name, insert my password twice, and then go to my phone to click on "yes, it is me" and sometimes before that enter a code, and then go to update securty all before I can read my email. I don't need any of this; I am the only user of my account and the only person who uses my computer. I am very unhappy with this. Also, just recently I now have lots of popups, most about music. It isn't even advertising, that I could understand, just annoying boxes of useless information that I have to dismiss. What is going on?,

To make the local startpage as a new tab I tried autoconfig.js and autoconfig.cfg but I got a error message when I open the broswer and nothing change. To remove the url from the local startpage I browse the reddit but I couldn't find answer, I want that when I open the browser it show my custom and local startpage without the url appearing.

How do we get contact icon photos to show in the inbox/message list? I can't find any options to toggle them on to see/view them in the inbox section (alongside the sender info). Thanks

This stopped working some time ago and I am finally getting around to asking why.

I do have toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets set to true, and other items in userChrome.css are working.

I am using 121.0 at home and 115.0 ESR at work and see the same (i.e. no "Close Tab"), in both cases on Debian testing. I do see this menu item when using the keyboard to open the File menu.

Any idea why this no longer works?

Dear Thunderbird Team, When launched, the program begins to update previously downloaded mail at one of the email addresses. How can I disable this so that it only downloads new messages?

why doesn't my theme stay engaged?I have 4 computers and I am constantly having to engage my fav theme on them all all the time.
