Across the top where it can show "From," "Account," "Date," "Subject," etc., I have "Select Messages." When I put a check in the box of a few messages and then click "Delete," the system marks the topmost message that I had not selected with a checkmark after the selected e-mails delete. If I don't notice it, I could start selecting messages to delete again and accidentally delete something I want to keep. I have to remember to always uncheck the box. This happens on my desktop; I don't think it happens on mobile, but I cannot remember for sure and have nothing to delete right now to test it. Is there a way to make it not put a check box in the Select Messages box of the uppermost e-mail after deleting a number of messages? I feel this is a bug that needs to be fixed. Please help if there is something I can toggle on my end. Thanks.

Recently the Google Calendar add-on in the Gmail side bar will not open. I have to go to a new table and go directly to Google Calendar. I can't uninstall it because it's, of course, not one of the installed add-ons but comes with Gmail. I'd appreciate any advice.

Sometimes, I move a tab from the main Firefox window with all my tabs on it to a different window with just the one tab on it, and then I want to move it back, often between monitors. However, Firefox, in it's infinite wisdom, has decided that when there is ONLY ONE TAB on a window, that window should still remain maximized when you click and drag the ONE TAB that is on that window, and that moving a tab off of a window with the mouse to another monitor shouldn't actually count as tearing it off a window. Chrome works exactly how I want this to work, for reference. It would also be nice if it could un-maximize a window if you select all the tabs on it.

I want to know if it is possible, through any means, to force Firefox to replicate chrome's behavior with the mouse.

I've got a problem switching from chrome, when I try to mark text of several pages and drag to the bottom of the page it's incredibly slow and laggy. Is there any way to solve this?

Like if you try to copy 3 pages of text you drag the cursor whilst holding left click to the bottom of the screen to reach the last page. It's faster if you actively pull down to go fast but I have to do that a lot for like hours and it's very tedious.

When I write an e-mail, and want to change the spellchecker language from the default `English (United States)`, I find that the sliding menu is cluttered with an overwhelming number of undesirable variants of English, from `English (Antigua and Barbuda)` to `English (Zimbabwe)`, including `English (Denmark)`, `English (Jamaica)`, etc.

- They do not appear to have been installed via the usual add-on/extension way. In the `Thunderbird Add-ons Manager`, there is no metion of them on the `Dictionaries` section. The only Dictionaries there are ones I installed recently using the [usual page](https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/language-tools/), such as `Spell checker for es-ES`. - While I can find the English variants I want to get rid of listed in said page, it only gives me the option to install dictionaries and language packages, not remove them. - In the `Languages` section of the `Thunderbird Add-ons Manager`, there are a bunch of language packs installed that I do not need, including Afrikaans, Arabic, etc. I have no recollection of why I have them or how or when I got them.

I'm using Fedora release 37 (Thirty Seven), Kernel version `6.3.8-100.fc37.x86_64`

According to `dnf info` my current version of Thunderbird is:

``` Name  : thunderbird Version  : 102.12.0 Release  : 1.fc37 Architecture : x86_64 Size  : 276 M Source  : thunderbird-102.12.0-1.fc37.src.rpm Repository  : @System From repo  : updates Packager  : Fedora Project Installed by : User <user> ``` As for `localectl status`, it returns
```

  System Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8
                 LC_NUMERIC=sv_SE.UTF-8
                 LC_TIME=sv_SE.UTF-8
                 LC_MONETARY=sv_SE.UTF-8
                 LC_PAPER=sv_SE.UTF-8
                 LC_MEASUREMENT=sv_SE.UTF-8
      VC Keymap: es
     X11 Layout: es

```
Which is exactly as I want it, for my own reasons.
- Mozzilla's support website has [a page ostensibly explaining how to uninstall add-ons](https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/policies-extensions-locked) if [the usual way](https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-add-ons-frequently-asked-questions#w_how-do-i-uninstall-an-add-on) doesn't work. I followed it as best I could, going to the `Help` menu, entering `Troubleshoot mode...`, pressed `Restart`, and went to `Troubleshooting information`, and found out the following:
   - The binaries are stored in `/usr/lib64/thunderbird/thunderbird`
   - The profile folder is stored in `~/.thunderbird/i0olk7xh.default-release/`
   - The add-ons listed do not include the excessive English variant dictionaries as `dictionary`. They do, however, list all those unnecessary locales, under the `Type` `locale` and the `version` `102.12.0buildid20230604.001933`, currently with the `Enabled` flag set to `false`.
   - However, the extension names they are listed as, such as `langpack-af@thunderbird.mozilla.org` for Afrikaans or `langpack-br@thunderbird.mozilla.org`, are not present in the folder `/.thunderbird/i0olk7xh.default-release/extensions/`, where they should normally be, and where the other extensions I did install myself are. Instead, there is an extension archive named {139a120b-c2ea-41d2-bf70-542d9f063dfd}.xpi which contains the following file structure:
``` background.js common.js _locales manual.html preferences.js changelog.html icons manifest.json preferences.html

```
In turn, `_locales` contains
``` bg da es_ES fr it nl pt_PT sr uk_UA ca_AD de fa_IR hr_HR ja_JP pl ru_RU sv_SE zh_CN cs_CZ en_US fi hu_HU ko_KR pt_BR sk_SK tr zh_TW ```

I tried deleting those and restarting Tunderbird. In fact, I even accidentally deleted the whole `.xpi` archive. _There was no discernable effect._ Even though the locales are deactivated, when I try to write a new message, the same problem persists: an overwhelming number of English variants in the spellcheck menu.

The way Firefox for Android automatically zooms in when the cursor is active in the fields of a draft email in Outlook web - really annoying. In particular I have to close the keyboard and pinch back to 100% before I can delete a draft, because the "delete" option appears (or rather does not appear) below the screen. Not being able to see the beginning and end of the lines I am typing is not helpful either. After looking around, it seems like I should be able to turn off the form helper via about:config, but that is apparently no longer available. Any advice welcome! PS Chrome handles Outlook web without this unhelpful zooming. And Firefox for Android handles Gmail web without such zooming. So it's definitely possible :)

When working at night on my Mac laptop, I want to be able to enable a night mode like the light-on-dark mode on my iPhone. I do not want to change my mac display settings, as I am often going back and forth between web browser and photoshop, and I need my display settings to be stable. But I'd like my web browser to not flash painfully white at me.

Enabling 'dark' theme does not invert websites reliably and consistent as Dark Mode does on my iPhone.

I want a 'night mode' option.

How close can I get to that?

Hello All,

I'm using Firefox 102.12.0esr (64-bit) on MX-Linux 21.3. Is it possible to have Firefox display the Menu Bar in fullscreen mode?

I have added

:root[inFullscreen] #PersonalToolbar {

visibility: visible !important;

}

to userChhrome.css which is great, it makes the bookmarks toolbar show when in fullscreen, but I don't know what to use for the Menu Bar. Perhaps something in about:config? When in fullscreen and I right click up the top near the Tab bar, Menu Bar is checked but doesn't show. There are things that don't appear in the 3 line menu on the top right that do appear in the Menu Bar's menus that I'd like access to in fullscreen mode.

Thanks

Until a few days ago, Firefox on my computer always opened as a new window when I clicked on the icon at the bottom of the taskbar. But then suddenly something happened; the icon went "white" and I had to first remove it and then put it back in the taskbar. Now Firefox does not open in the same way anymore. To be able to open a new window, you must right-click and select "open in new window". Previously, the "opening of a new window" happened automatically when I clicked on the icon. How do I get the old "opening" back, which I think is better?

Is it possible to set a container as the default for new links that originate from outside Firefox? For example links I click on my email or messages apps, or share with my computer using airdrop? I would like to create a container called Default or General for example, and set that as the default for all links without an existing container, or where there isn't a container open.

This would mean that, unless I specifically open a new tab without a container, everything is contained. That will help to ensure that cookies and site tracking data is contained by default - making it easier to clear cookies (by deleting the container) and reducing the effect of any website links that I am sent - even well meaning friends might send friendly and useful websites with pernicious cookies and trackers (or versions of weblinks that are not covered by the existing containers, eg uk.linkedin.com v www.linkedin.com )

I see in the release notes just now that there's "Make “default container” entry keyboard navigable " - which has raised my hopes that this feature is possible - is it somewhere in the menus that I am not finding?
