I tried to change the font-size of address bar, tabs, sidebar and toolbar using the method given in The method given in: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../1239467] gives no change at all of the font-size no matter the value I use. Any ideas? I'm using Windows 10 Firefox 127

Is there any way to change the subject line content of an email that I receive. I know I can do it when I forward the email or reply to it at that time.

The reason why I need to do this is because my day's work is following up on received emails that are generated by an automated system. I get about 90 emails a day. When I get the email I have to read the email itself to know exactly what the email is in reference to as the subject line is so long it can not fit in the browser and really does not give me any item of the specifics of the email. There are about 9 different generic type emails I get.

Depending on the content of the email I then have to forward the email to the respective employee to follow up on; basically I am the coordinator. At the time I forward the email I can change the content. But sometimes I need to investigate the issue separately for a while and then determine if I have to forward for further follow up.

If I have all these emails in my working inbox with basically the same subject content it is very hard to look for a specific email that i need without having to scroll through all the emails reading the email content. This gets very time consuming. So until i get to forward it I have so many emails with basically the same subject content in my inbox. Once I forward change the subject content and then receive a reply from the employee it does make it easier but until then it drives me nuts.

Also, when i go to archive the original email i end up with an archive folder with all emails basically all having the same subject line content.

I guess I could upon receiving the email originally, click forward, change the content line to specific email content and then send it to myself but again this does not change the original email that is later sent to archive.

When windows applications create a new message through thunderbird (quickbooks wants to send an invoice for example) the new message appears in the background and bothers the user who prefered the way outlook would pop up newly created messages in the foreground. The foreground popup is the preferred work flow as the operator clicks 'send invoice' and then the message pops up for review and for the operator to hit send. Now migrating to Thunderbird, in frustration the user is creating many drafts but not always sending the invoice.

How can I set Thunderbird to popup a new message window in the foreground in this case?

I am running Firefox 127.0.2 on Android 12. I have disabled the "Offer to translate when possible" setting and I still get the pop-up to translate pages in languages other than English; please see attached images.

I want this to stop. I AM NOT AT ALL INTERESTED IN TRANSLATING!!! Is this possible?

I find it increasingly important to be able to see a sender's actual email address rather than just display name, as they usually don't show a company name - which a domain always would. Is there a way to customise settings/write a script/tweak files to add raw email & domain name columns? When dealing with a number of people at the same company it is hard to order or glance through a list of emails to find them. I also know 2 people with the same name at different companies and it is impossible to distinguish!

Secondly, as a related column addition, since a number of email aliases reach me it would be useful to have a column to show the "Received..for" part of the message source which reveals the actual email used in the To/CC/BCC which led to me. Again can this be tweaked or scripted?

I have programming experience but have not made add-ons and would be open to a suggestion which involves creating a custom add-on if adding columns with custom values is possible that way.

I recently suffered from the "127.0.1" not compatible error. Eventually I was persuaded to reinstall firefox from the Mozilla oficial site using Edge, despite having reservations about losing my passwords etc. which has happened before. Fortunately, the installation routine included an update option which preserved all of that. However, my menus bar (File ...... History, Bookmarks...) is missing and I cannot find any way to get it back. I rely upon it to restore previous sessions, because I routinely have the same 7 tabs open and want to be able to get them back after an update or laptop shutdown, and also use it to search history and find bookmarks that are not in the bookmarks bar. Any help welcome.

As an asside, my pet hate is updates to any application that remove, move, or hide a very useful feature without explanation or warning and claim to be to "improve the user experience". Take it from a long standing user, they don't. Quite the contrary.

I'm unsure about this setting. I don't want a tab to reload when it's switched to.

It seems to indicate that something will be reloaded regardless of what I choose. I assume that's probably not the case.

Please confirm.

I am using Google Calendar with Lightening. I have totally deleted an account from TB yet everytime I open the software it prompts me to enter pwd for the account. The account foes not show in the pane on either Google tab or regular calendar tab. What gives? The email account is completely removed from TB?

The other thing is that the Google calendar tab always defaults to Nov 2018 instead of current dates and always says Loading... in the tab???

Firefox has started making a piercing high-pitched screech when the "save image" and "file update" panels appear. This is a confirmation or alert sound I suppose. It occurs when saving an image from a right-click menu and when downloading a file. Formerly Firefox used the system default sound for this, and that sound is still working in other programs for similar operations.

How can I fix this? Or alternatively how can I disable the sound during such operations in Firefox (or alternatively system-wide)?

At one time there was a add on that would remind me that if I put more then 2 names in the "TO" field, that I might want to change it to "BCC". This would also include when I would add a "list" of names from my address book. However, newer versions of Thunderbird stopped me from using that.

Is there any way to make this happen either with an add on or through the program itself?

I am new to Thunderbird and need help with configuring the 'Copies & Folders' tab in Thunderbird 115.12.2 (32 bit) running on Windows 10.

Background: I have just set up a pop3 account to download and locally store all incoming messages to my inbox and also to keep a copy of those messages on the server.

I want to store all sent messages for that pop3 account locally too, in a 'sent' folder.

Questions: 1. If I have more than one pop3 account set up like this, do I: (a) set up a separate 'sent' folder for each of those accounts; or (b) set up one 'sent' folder containing sent messages for all pop3 accounts, or (c) is it personal choice?

2. How do I set up: (a) a separate 'sent' folder for every pop3 account? (b) a single 'sent' folder for all pop3 accounts?

3. Can I keep a copy of all sent messages on the folder in addition to storing the locally; and if so how do I configure this?

4. How do I set up the Drafts & Templates section for the above scenario? My preference here would be to have one drafts folder for all pop3 accounts. I don't use templates.

5. If I uncheck the 'keep message archives in' check box, will that turn off automatic archiving and keep all incoming pop3 messages in the inbox?

6. Is there an up to date manual for Thunderbird? I can't find one.

Any idea when you will be adding a feature to message filters whereby we can filter messages by file type in attachments i.e. delete all email with attachments containing extension .gz .7z etc

I'm a teacher, and there are very strict privacy rules regarding email. I regularly have to send class emails to all parents, and I need to use BCC. I have on more than one occasion nearly sent out an email to TO rather than BCC, which would be a breach of privacy. I've been using the excellent the "Use BCC Instead" addon, but this is no longer supported. Is there another way to set the default address to BCC? This is very important to me, as school takes privacy (especially in regard to students) very seriously.

FYI - I've been using T=Bird for years so not a noob. Developers: This is an important security feature and should be repaired.

Just "upgraded" to 18.04 Xubuntu 32-bit which includes T-bird 60.2 and experienced the following. (no add-ons) New messages were being marked "read" immediately when moused over or selected, no delay. Not usually a problem because there was a settings in Tools>Options>Display... The problem is that with 60.2 this Tools feature is gone (on my install) and there is no access to the unread/read delay setting. I solved the problem by going into the flags ("Here be Dragons", accessed via Preferences>Advanced > Config Editor) Warning! Do not use the config editor unless you are confident you won't damage anything. Open Config Editor> Search: "message_read" no quotes You should see the three results / flags below. To enable delay change "read.delay;false" to true. This is done by either a double click or right click > select Toggle. After you change it it will be bold, that's normal. It's just to let you know it was modified. Leave the other two as is unless you want more or less of a delay then change the number at "delay.interval" mine was 5 so it's fine. Leave "read.auto" set to true. Close the editor and it's done.

That's it. Your messages will now change from unread to read in 5 seconds not instantly. If you have the Tools>Options on your system by all means avoid the Config Editor but since it's missing on mine it's probably missing on others' as well. I searched for a solution before posting this and didn't find it so hope this is helpful to someone.

I want to use Google for my default search engine within Thunderbird. So i searched the support site and found this article; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/add-search-engine-open-search#thunderbird:win10:tb52

as instructed i copied the xml file to my profile, and deleted the file search.json.mzlz4 from the profile. i restarted thunderbird and, it didn't work. so i double checked and yes, the google.xml file is in the profile, and yes, the search.json.mzlz4 file was gone. restarted it, and it did still did not work. no google in the search engine dropdown.

i searched the support site again, and found a post from a year ago where someone had the same problem. they were advised to download the google search plugin at:

So i did as instructed, and tried to install from a file. i got a message in red at the top of the screen:

Google search for thunderbird could not be installed because it is not compatible with thunderbird 60.

so here we are. is there no way to install google as the dafault search engine within thunderbird?

Hi, i have problem with uninstalling uBlock Origin i cant remove them from extension tab. I tried refreshing firefox, reinstalling, opening firefox with troubleshoot mode and still nothing i dont know why is so difficult.Even when i reinstalling firefox this addon onstalling by itself even when im not logged in.Please help me.
