Many of the websites I access ask if I want them to remember my login info--username and password. For those that I trust, I indicate that I want them to remember this information, and for most I get an e-mail confirming that my device is registered. However, the next time I log in, I still have to go through the entire login. Is this a Firefox issue, and if so, how can I correct this?

This might just be a blind thing, I use the NVDA screen reader, but when I sign in to firefox, my password is 12 letters long, but when I look on my settings page, it's 18 characters long, is this normal?

I can log in using my 12 letter password and it's not a master password, I don't have one of those.

Any help would be apreciated.

I am facing issue while downloading files in Firefox Private Browsing. Whenever I download my PDF files, as soon as I close the browser window, the files also get deleted automatically. What should I do to rectify this issue.

Previously one could tap view, and see exactly all the transmission details of emails, especially spam or phishing, and I could highlight, copy and paste to send to SpamCop or phishing.gov.uk so the sender could be traced and blocked. I was horrified to receive an e-mail from mail.com, telling me that my e-mail service would effectively be withdrawn in about 3 weeks unless I upgraded TLS 1.0 to TLS 1.1. I barely understand what that means but I have done my best to comply, short of buying a new computer. I have queried the usual sources, which tell me that if I upgrade Thunderbird to the latest version all will be well, so I tried to implement some of the often contradictory advice offered - to no avail. When I started, About Thunderbird informed me that I was running version 68.10.0 (64- bit). After trying all that I could understand, About Thunderbird tells me that my Linux 18.3 (Sylvia) computer is still running version 68.10.0 (64- bit). I suppose that's a bit better than screwing the whole thing up - but not a lot. My update 'shield' icon continues to show a green tick and assures me that my system is up to date. I appear to have disappeared up my own tail pipe. If some kind soul would explain how I can extricate myself from this impasse I would be exceedingly grateful.

Suggestions for Firefox for Android

Since the built-in password manager is not good enough in terms of security and functionality, (and I don't think it will be good enough for the foreseeable future), it would actually be a good idea to build an app instead of the built-in one, or to choose a third party app as a partner as an official recommendation, and so forth.

I find the browser's ad-blocking features to be very unorganized, repetitive, and not easy to use. I wish you could build a comprehensive enough and personalized built-in pan-ad blocker.

And please allow the beta version's custom "add-ons collection" to be added to the official version

Anyway, there are many problems and many solutions, I hope Firefox will be better and better.

I've been using Firefox browser for Facebook and other online purposes for several years. Over much of that time I periodically (several times per week, minimum) get a small pop-up box, usually while I'm on Facebook, which is headed "Apple wants to make changes. Enter your password" The "USERNAME" box shows only my first name, John, (which is my admin password for the laptop) and the "PASSWORD" box is empty. No indication of what changes Apple wants to make, so I've never put my password in, and when I hit "cancel" I have to cancel three times before it goes away, only to show up sometimes within minutes, or sometimes days. Until today I'd not been able to get a diagnosis from Apple, but their help person, after a screen-sharing session today said it doesn't come from Apple and she suggested I contact Firefox Support and ask about it. So I'm asking. The screen shot below shows what it looks like, although I closed Firefox before i took this screen shot, just to see if the box would remain, and obviously, it did. Any thoughts as to whether this is somehow coming from Firefox? Thanks, John Jessup

I've got FF set for https-only. But sometimes it will tell me no https is available but when I go to the site anyway it is https.

Is this a bug or is this something in my settings?

I have noticed that my browser saves certain data that was filled into forms on websites such as contact info, or 2FA codes. Of course, the all options for Logins and Passwords as well as Forms and Autofill are turned off. So I wonder, what causes this behavior? I would maybe think these are some cookies, but after clearing them and deleting all site data this still happens. For 2FA codes this is harmless. but I'm concerned Firefox may do this for passwords too. Anyway, why would I need to save info of TOTP?

I don't mean "saving" login information for later use, that I do not want to do. What I mean by the login not being retained is that when I log-in to a website like say Amazon, while I'm browsing, I end up having to re-enter my login information pretty much every other time that I switch between pages. I've never had an issue like that with any other browser. Is there some setting I need to adjust to stop that from happening? As I said, I'm not looking to save my passwords and usernames within the browser, I just want to effectively browse a website after logging into it without needing to login every time I move between pages. Failed to join the web hosting product identified by Thunderbird when initializing the mail server and account.

Would anyone have the link to this service product?

I'm using Thunderbird v 91.10.0. SMTP set as per attachment. Still receive "Login to server imap.googlemail.com with username X failed." What else do I need to check? I've browsed a few online suggestions and everything seems to be correctly configured, but obviously something is missing. Please help!
