Every time I open anew a page it invariable displays the page somewhere mid-way down requiring me to scroll up to the top (if page is large enough to warrant a scroll). I'd prefer every page open at the top at all times. Is there any switch in the configuration editor that would allow for this?

The latest version of Firefox I have keeps making changes to my computer every time I open the program. I have to approve the changes each time, why is the program suddenly doing this? What does it have to change on my hard drive? I don't like programs making changes to my computer when they open they are usually not to my benefit and add clutter to my computer. In my "Themes" section viewing the add-ons manager, I can view all the themes I have downloaded, and I would really like to disable the recommendations. They are not relevant to me, and they take up space and are a distraction from those I am interested in. Is there a way to disable the "Recommended Themes" section???

When I want to go to the NY Times, and i type "nyt" the address bar automatically populated with the rest of the URL "nytimes.com". When I do the same thing with gmail and "gmail" it runs a search on a search engine instead of completing the rest of the URL.

Why would it do this for one website and not another? How do I fix this, I use gmail all the time so its a bit of a time waster.
