The email acount I was using to sign-in to Firefox has been breached annd the onlyway I can recover it involves sending drivers license photo and current photo ofmy delf -- ehich would not prove snything. If somebody hsd my enough info they could fake that easy enough. Although they have takenaway allour privacy I refuse to send them that info.

If I had simply said I need helpchanging my password they never would have known. I was honest about the reason I needed a new password. Ended in my contacting Paypal and telling them to not acceot any more charges as I had the Premium email.

So noe I need a new sign-in here and Firefox becuase if I am asked code to be retrieved from that provider I won't be able to get it.

Firefox View Open Tabs is my favorite feature. I (used to) use it daily, but now, even though I have NUMEROUS windows (over 40) and multiple tabs in many of those windows, View Open Tabs is completely empty. I'd very much like to restore that 'index' without losing all those pages/tabs (it's my reading & ToDo list).

Sometime recently, I found it using gobs of CPU even though Javascript was (and still is) disabled, so I found the top CPU process and killed it. Instead of a single page going blank, Firefox crashed. Sometime after that I noticed that View Open Tabs was no longer populating. Maybe that contributed or instigated the dysfunction?

Google reCaptcha is not working for about 1 day, but no problem in Chrome browser. Does anyone else experience this? I use the latest firefox browser.

Hi, I can't use Firefox because a captcha won't complete loading. I have uninstalled and reinstalled, cleared cache and disabled add ons. I am using a vpn (PIA). Chrome and Edge both load and operate OK. Thanks in advance.

Captchas are an ongoing issue. Firefox seems to have a LOT more captchas than other browsers. Is there a problem between Mozilla and Google?

Hi, I am running Thunderbird v. 115.9.0 on Windows 10 on my desktop. I have been forced by Rogers in Canada to migrate my internet service from their legacy internet service to Rogers Ignite with its Ignite (Comcast) gateway. My email accounts were supposed to be migrated automatically, but, for reasons unknown, were not, and a tech support representative had to migrate them from the old legacy service to Ignite. After that was done, I opened Thunderbird, and was asked to authenticate my 2 Rogers/Yahoo email accounts, one of which is my primary account, the other a secondary account. I was asked to authenticate the secondary account first, which went well. I then clicked on my primary account in the left-hand pane and was again asked to authenticate, but the dialogue box showed it was for the secondary account. Thinking that this secondary account authentication was just being repeated for no particular reason, and not thinking that the email address in the authentication request box could be changed, I clicked Agree. My primary account is now showing the exact same emails as are listed in the secondary account, and I'm extremely concerned that I will not be able to recover all of the thousands of emails in my primary account, many of which are business-related. When I log into my primary account on the Rogers/Yahoo mail website, the emails in the primary account are still showing, so I know they are still on the Rogers IMAP server. However, I really want to continue to use my primary account on Thunderbird. I'm not sure if I should delete the primary account and recreate it - the Rogers support tech said that deleting the account may result in an issue where my current password for a re-created primary account may not be recognized, so I'm leaving things as they are until I hear back. It the advice is to not delete and recreate the account, what steps can I take to recover the emails on my primary account in Thunderbird. There are two "bad email" files in Thunderbird: JUNK and SPAM. I'm still not clear on the difference.

For JUNK mail, TB gives us the option to select "NOT JUNK". Good.

But for SPAM, I cannot find the option "NOT SPAM"

1) Why are there separate SPAM and JUNK directories? And why are they managed differently? This seems terribly non-intuitive and inconsistent and just strange.

2) How can I train SPAM filter to not flag good email from trusted senders? For instance, I get email from my wife many times a day for many years. Today, TB put her email into SPAM. Isn't there a simple command to "white list" a sender's email address?

Twice in the past 2-3 weeks I have had to restart the computer, Linux Mint 21.2 Firefox 124(when updated in the past couple of days), due to the mouse freezing up and not being able to move the mouse on the screen. That's not the current problem, but it might help direct things to the final solution.

After the most recent reboot last night now I'm having a rather problem. The up/down arrow keys are no longer scroll me up and down a webpage like they always have in the past. Instead of doing smooth scrolling like they always use to, now they are scrolling me up and down the links on a web page. For example, if I were to be on youtube it would first want to scroll me down the left side links before taking me through each and every video link, when the page goes to load in more videos than it wants to go back and scroll me down the left side links again. It acts like it is taking me through the html code, line by line, instead of scrolling me smoothly down the webpage. The only way I can scroll smoothly down the webpage is to use the mouse on the scrollbar on the right side. It does this both in normal mode and in Troubleshooting Mode.

I have checked and beret scrolling is false as well as beret_shortcut. Use autoscrolling, use smooth scrolling, show scrollbars and always underline links are all clicked on. Always use the cursor keys to navigate within pages is unclicked. I have tried different changes between clicking on and unclicking those options with no change being noticed.

How can I get this back to the way it used to run?

Anytime I attempt to send an email in the CCC ONE application, I get this error message from CCC ONE:

"Unable to perform selected action while the email application is open. Please close your email application and try again."

This error message persists whether I do have Thunderbird open or not. I also checked Task manager while I had Thunderbird closed and found no instance of it running. Is there any way that Thunderbird is running in the background? Or could it be if Thunderbird loads at start up that it's tricking CCC into thinking it's open all the time?

I contacted CCC ONE report and they advised me to attempt to change the name of a DLL file so a new one would be created to replace it. I tried that, the issue still persists. They also told me to try and uninstall and reinstall Thunderbird, which I did, and it still won't work.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

A bit desperate here. Windows crashed with no chance of repairing the installation. Hard drive And all files on it are accessible. Firefox had thousands of bookmarks for a very important project.

There seems to be no Firefox profile on the drive. Searched in hidden folders as well. Certainly not where it’s supposed to be: …\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

Search for all files on the drive, but there seems to be no SQLITE or JSON files related to Firefox.

Not even a folder anywhere in the drive called Mozilla or Firefox or Profiles or Profile (at least not in relation to Firefox).

There’s no file called places.sqlite or bookmarkbackups anywhere on the drive.

The drive itself seems to be in a good condition and all other files are there and accessible. The file system doesn’t seem to be corrupt And man thousands of bookmarks were there before windows crashed.

Also checked places in \Roaming\ Just in case, as sometimes it could be found there for some installations.

Nothing found anywhere so far. Seems like running out of options.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I have a unique annoyance wherein I use a considerably long email address for many sites. I've gotten tired of typing it out whenever it comes up and wish for it to be preserved as an autofill across all sites so I no longer have to, similar to how your phone may suggest your email address in autocomplete.

Unfortunately, as far as I can tell, you can only manually add autofills for specific sites and with password attached. So my question is, is there a way to make the address be a suggested autofill on username/email address boxes across all sites?

(not interested in having form history saved, just want this one specific form entry)

Hello, I am trying to send emails from my iCloud account and it always fails due to the SMTP server timing out. I've tried making a new app-specific password, deleting and re-adding the account in Thunderbird, and made sure the authentication settings are right, but it still doesn't work. I can connect to the IMAP server just fine.

In my left tool bar I have:

xxxx@cox.net pop server followed by about 40 folders. This was the Cox email that is no longer in use.

xxxx@gmail.com followed by folders

xxxx@cox.net this is the new imap cox.net using yahoo.

Is it possible to move the bottom cox.net to the top, followed by gmail, followed by the no longer in use pop cox.net?

I have two Google (yes, Google, not gmail) accounts. When setting up my gmail in Thunderbird, I was prompted to enter the Google account. I have entered the wrong one. Consequently, I cannot access my gmail: "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password."

I have tried all ways I have found in this forum to get rid of it again, such as editing the prefs file, but to no avail.

How can I remove the Google account from the Thunderbird settings to be able to insert the new one?

Hello. In our company, every employee has an IMAP account, but over time the IMAP profile takes up too much space on the hard drive (100-200GB per user...). What can we do to have more storage space? Can we delete the file? Or will all emails also be deleted from the server?
