Thunderbird has worked exceptionally well for many, many years on my laptop running Windows 8.1 Pro. Currently using Thunderbird 68.8.1. I use POP to get my gmail and send mail. I bought a new Android phone a few days ago and it seems that when the new phone was activated, Thunderbird on my laptop quit working. The last mail received was May 17. I use my Android phone to set up a hotspot to run my laptop, so they are actually connected somehow. Various error messages, all seem related to the google server not recognizing my email or password. Latest error is The STAT command did not succeed. Error getting message number and sizes. mail server pop.gmail.com responded: Username and password not accepted. I've set Gmail to allow unsafe apps, that didn't work. I've changed setting from Password to OAuth2, and it says it gave me a new password, but it still doesn't work. I don't want to use IMAP, I only get mail on my laptop, and want all mail stored locally. I don't want to sync multiple devices. I've removed my google account and re-added it to my phone, that did nothing. I've made sure I'm signed out of all old accounts. It appears to me that google suddenly decided to not allow access to their mail via 3rd party apps, because the built in email app on my phone gets similar messages relating to "unsafe apps". It worked on the old phone, but not on the new phone. I'm at a loss, and don't know what to try next. Any help appreciated.

"Junk" folder accidentally moved to "Trash" folder

I accidentally moved the entire "Junk" folder into the "Trash" folder, rather than just moving the files in the Junk folder. How can I restore the Junk folder back to it'… (funda kabanzi)

I accidentally moved the entire "Junk" folder into the "Trash" folder, rather than just moving the files in the Junk folder. How can I restore the Junk folder back to it's original location? Dragging it back is not permitted by the software. I'm concerned that not only will junk mail not be properly filed, but when I empty the Trash folder, the junk folder will be deleted with the other files.

Cannot access Gmail since update Firefox 74

Since FF updated to v 74 last week, I have not been able to access my Gmail. All other Google apps work OK ( e.g. Maps. Drive, Photos, YouTube, etc.) but not Gmail, Gmai… (funda kabanzi)

Since FF updated to v 74 last week, I have not been able to access my Gmail. All other Google apps work OK ( e.g. Maps. Drive, Photos, YouTube, etc.) but not Gmail, Gmail works OK on Chrome and Opera. Gmail was working fine before this last update. All I get now is a blank white page and the FF icon with "New Tab" in the Tab label at the top of the page.

I apologize if this is stupid question but this is my first use of the support forum.

I posted a question yesterday about the interaction with HTML forms and had a dialogue with help.

How do I find that dialogue today? I mainly want to post the problem has gone away as mysteriously as it appeared. It lasted for 2 days, and was isolated to something in an extension or such as things worked correctly in safe mode.

Today my BT Yahoo webmail login fails to authenticate my credentials with the message "Please check you entered your username and password correctly and try again." It worked fine yesterday. I tried it on Edge and Chrome and it works fine on both. What has changed since yesterday?

I do get a message that the screenshot I take has been copied to the clipboard. What could be the problem?

Since setting up a second email account (with different passwords) (I use two other computers with only the single email address with no problems.) some times only one account displays not both, also when selecting "view settings" for account it displayed as squashed box with only the top and account actions showing I deleted Thunderbird and reloaded in an effort to cure the problem Both accounts reloaded all their emails and data to my surprise. I also noted when I tried to log into ask a question on my primary account the password was not recognized. I assume it should be the normal access password to the account. Sorry couldn't work out how to do a screen shot. I am using windows ten and Kaspersky password manager. I also tried logging in manually without password manager. in anticipation, Amanda

I wish the developers wouldn't turn off compatibility for such extremely attractive add-ons. We need to move forward, not backward! Thank you.
