Hi, can you please tell me if there is any agreement with google or other sponsors behind disabling users access to about:config?

Eg google has many google settings built into firefox which benefits them. like spdy

how can I configure android Firefox to let me change the name of any downloads without it downloading without giving me a choice?

this is unacceptable browser programming that Mozilla should have FIXED a VERY LONG time ago.

I can't receive new emails on my Thunderbird account because every time I try to refresh my inbox, I get this message:

‘An error has occurred while saving your messages. Make sure that the file system gives you write rights and that you have enough free disk space to copy the inbox’.

No problem with webmail.

We have another computer in the office connected to Thunderbird that receives all our emails. All the settings are the same, except that we haven't updated Thundebird.

We use a POP system.

I have received an email from Microsoft on five out of seven of my outlook.com accounts which informs me :-

The safety and security of your information is top priority for Microsoft. To help keep your account secure, Microsoft will no longer support the use of third-party email and calendar apps which ask you to sign in with only your Microsoft Account username and password. To keep you safe you will need to use a mail or calendar app which supports Microsoft’s modern authentication methods. If you do not act, your third-party email apps will no longer be able to access your Outlook.com, Hotmail or Live.com email address on September 16th.

Is this correct or a scam. If correct, will Thunderbird be OK?

I have noticed in the past few weeks or so, many video play backs are erroring out on google/news: Example: https://6abc.com/post/middle-schoolers-create-20-fake-tiktok-accounts-impersonating/15039963/

Message is: Media could not be loaded, either because server or network failed or because format is not supported.

IMO not a network issue......

hi, I just changes hosting, but saw after setting things up, (click settings - account settings - changed server name) that the account looked brand new, empty, no subfolders with sorted messages.

is this because I'd lazily set up imap on my old hosting instead of pop3? I know thunderbird has local copies of everything though, right? because I could see emails still while I was offline.

can I get my old emails back?

If "Netzero doesn't forward my emails to T-Bird as before," that explains my problem; however, just in case, Netzero is POP, and I only access email from my laptop. BTW, is this recent development, because I started having problems about 4 months ago, fixed it, then about 1 month ago couldn't fix? Thank you again. Hello. I have been using Firefox and Thunderbird for many years with no problem until last week. I logged onto Google so I could leave a Google review for a friend's restaurant and when I was finished, when I went to go to my Thunderbird account to send an email, suddenly a new box opens and will not allow me to access my Thunderbird account without first singing into Google?!? I do not want to ever have to sign onto Google and this is all new. I want to get Google off my Thunderbird. I can access my email only from Google. No thank you. I hope someone has some idea on what I should do. Thank you, Philip

I also redownloaded Thunderbird to no avail.

I'm getting these notifications multiple times a day. It serves no useful purpose, there is no way to stop them, that I can see and no way to universally shut off this type of notification. Please help!

When I opened my T-Bird email this morning the only folder it had was "Local Folders" - it no longer had my webmail accounts. I spent 3 hours trying to fix the situation by reviewing many internet help sites but nothing has worked - or the directions (for manually rebuilding a profile for example) were way too complex for me). I have to believe this is something fairly simple.

I use Outlook from Microsoft 365. Last year I had to buy a service from Owl to work with Microsoft's system (they forced everyone to use Exchange I think). I'm still getting Outlook email and can access it through a web browser.

My address book shows all of my contacts. Also, I can find my profile in File Explorer and see all of my inbox, sent, and other folders so I think my profile is in tact - it's just not being recognized by Thunderbird.

Does anyone know how I can get my profile back?

I have been trying for a house but won't open, so I tried another Browser and the Email account opened first time. What have I done work or what can I do to fix. Firefox is my #1 Browser. Email removed for privacy

My Thunderbird stopped downloading new email messages on August 22 (but is still able to send). Microsoft says that Thunderbird is not comptatible with Windows 10, but it worked fine before the update. Is there now a compatibility issue?

What information that I can supply would be useful to help resolve the problem? I have seen the problem on both my old (ancient) Windows 10 desktop and new Windows 11 desktop. I have seen it on my Windows 11 desktop on version 129.0.2 and 130.0. I saw it first on the Windows 11 desktop as I am spending my time setting it up. But recently saw it on the Windows 10 desktop on 129.0.2. When I hover on a tab it highlights the tab (background lightens); but NO description or preview appears.

It works on both PCs when I first start Firefox.
