I have enabled privacy.resistFingerprinting in Firefox. I have also set my default zoom level to 133%

When I open a website (e.g. https://github.com/), it is zoomed to 133% as expected. If I then navigate to a page on that website (e.g. https://github.com/pricing) using the menu at the top of the page, then the new page is still zoomed to 133%. So far, so good.

However, on the new page (https://github.com/pricing) if I increase the zoom over 133%, then navigate back to the original page (https://github.com/) using the menu at the top of the page, then my zoom level is reset to 100%.

Is this expected behaviour? I would have thought that the zoom level would be reset to 133%, not 100%.

Im using Thunderbird Beta release. Starting last week, my PC would become extremely slow, to the point it would nearly come to a complete halt. After digging around, I realized it was due to excessively large Thunderbird NSTMP files that were being created. I would delete them and the speed would improve. But then a while later, the NSTMP files reappear and gobble up all my Harddisk again. Part of the issue is the sheer large size of the file, which will consume all available space on my HD, which at present is 600GB. But it also eats up all my RAM so my system slows down til the NSTMP file is fully built.

I use this as imap with Gmail installed on a PC with a 1TB SSD

Today after my pc started slowing again, I started poking around and noticed my main Inbox is massive, 29GB, which there is no chance its that large. All Mail is only 1GB to give perspective

This has been going on about a week.

I tried repairing my inboxes and other folders, but that does not seem to have helped.

CVE-2024-4367 has been announced several days now with MITRE and CIS. There is also an issue/advisory on the github repo for PDF.js which appears that the fix has been merged into the master commit of PDF.js (https://github.com/advisories/GHSA-wgrm-67xf-hhpq).

The vulnerability is pretty serious and yet there is no Security Advisory from Mozilla on affected versions, etc. (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/security/advisories/)

Is this normal and I am just being impatient?

Hi, I have upgraded my computer and Thunderbird, however only the INBOX folder is loading.

I have followed the instructions to migrate the folders from the 'Profile Folder' on the old computer, the data has transferred but is not organised as folders, as on the old computer and of course on the main server.

I don't mind if all the data is not on my computer so long as the Folders are there, empty or not but organised in as they are on the main server.

I'm wondering if I selected an incorrect setting while setting up the account within Thunderbird on the new computer.

I am encountering an issue where Firefox throws an "Uncaught out of memory" error in the console, despite my system having ample RAM available. Here are the details of the problem:

• Error Message in Console: Uncaught out of memory
• Memory Usage Observed: Using about:processes, I noticed that Firefox's maximum memory usage caps at around 7GB.
• System Specifications: The machine running Firefox has 128GB of RAM, so there should be plenty of memory available.
• Firefox Version: 126.0a1

Given the significant amount of RAM available on my machine, it seems unusual that Firefox would hit a memory limit at just 7GB. I suspect there might be a bug or a misconfiguration causing this issue.

Can you please assist in diagnosing and resolving this problem? Are there any settings or configurations I should adjust, or is this a known issue with the current version of Firefox?

bold text All of a sudden today Saturday the 11th Thunderbird stopped sending email on COX but it can receive them. It was working fine then all of a sudden the sending of email stopped. At first I thought that is was Cox being down again, (I've had connection problems this week). But while I was trying to figure it out I received a number of emails. I tried sending a test email to myself usually they go right away but it did not go.

I called Cox. They tech connected to my computer, made some checks, (updated Thunderbird) and after about 20 minutes it started to send messages. 10 minutes later it stopped working AGAIN. This started a four hour telephone marathon with just about every level of service that Cox has. I ended up with Complete Care and while I was on the phone with him and he was connected to my computer the service tech from Cox who was here to check my signal and modem showed up. He tried to look at the problem and could not figure it out. Note I can send and receive mail from the COX email website but and only receive email in Thunderbird.

Cox tells me it is a Mozilla or Thunderbird problem I'm telling them it is not that it is a Cox problem because the server is SENDING me email to Thunderbird but the Cox INCOMING mail server it not connecting to Thunderbird to receive emails. They claim that because I can send and receive on the web page but can not send with Thunderbird. I'm telling them it is a Cox problem.

Anyone else have this issue? Anyone have a solution? I'm shutdown here with over a 25 year history of emails sitting in Thunderbird.

I have established a group in Thunderbird. I want to send a group email to all the individuals in my group. I believe that in the past I could click on the group name in the address book and have all the emails within the group come up in the To line of the email. Now I have to click on the group and then on each individual, which sends their email to the To line, but then when I click on the second person, the email is sent to the individual in the To line of a new email. How can I choose at one time all the emails of individuals in the group?

I just recently downloaded Thunderbird after using Mac Mail for years. Mail suddenly refused to display messages and no one on the Apple forum could figure out why. So I was advised to download Thunderbird. So far, I'm not a fan. Here are my issues: 1. Unread messages in the Inbox are in bold. But the bold is so close to the normal font that I can't tell them apart. Is there another, better way to mark unread messages? A tick/check mark? A coloured background? 2. Messages are automatically organised into conversations. But when the latest message comes in, the inbox message doesn't go bold. So there is no way of knowing where to find it. I have to go through all messages that have a conversation (more than one message in the inbox) and find one where the latest message is in bold at the bottom. It's a royal pain. I see the number next to the account on the left, but nothing is in bold on the right. Grrr. 3. The conversations are the wrong way up. I want the most recent message at the top, not the bottom. I would actually prefer not to have them in conversations at all, just the most recent message, but I realise that is probably asking too much. 4. There is no number next to the Thunderbird icon on my desktop when I get a message. I used to appreciate this in Mail. It told me if it was worth going to my inbox. With Thunderbird I have to open the program to find out. Ok, that's enough for now. I'd better not get started on the shortcomings of the search function, or how to bring the unread messages to the top of the inbox list... There are just too many issues to address is one posting. I have a new PC running Kubuntu 22.04, with Mozilla Firefox 120.0.1 (64 bit) installed. Standard, the system window title bar was hidden. But I wanted access to the "Move to desktop" menu and wanted the title in the title bar. So, in "Customize toolbar" I checked "Title bar". The title bar reappeared, but a complete border along the Firefox window became inaccessible, and when clicking in that zone, it effectively clicked in the window behind. In particular, the complete menu bar is inaccessible, as well as the scroll bar on the left and in the bookmarks sidebar the fold/unfold. And Mozilla Thunderbird 115.5.0 has the same annoying behaviour. Even when hovering over some menus in the Mozilla window, you can sometimes see reactions from the window under the Mozilla window. On older Kubuntu computers (up to 18.04) with older versions of Firefox (up to 113.0.2) and Thunderbird (up to 102.11.0) I do not have that problem. How can I get at the same time access to both the system title bar and the menu bar ?

Hi. I love Thunderbird! But I cannot use a Gmail account.

It all started when I changed the underlying password for my Gmail account (for routine security). I changed the password too on my Thunderbird client for SMTP and IMAP.

But then it popped up with: https://accounts.google.com/v3/signin/identifier?app_domain=http://localhost& [etc]

it keeps giving me this message:

"400. That’s an error. The server cannot process the request because it is malformed. It should not be retried. That’s all we know."

I've tried to read online what's going on. I've deleted the account and tried to set up again, and closed Thunderbird. It keeps doing this. I've checked Google settings ... nothing untoward. It doesn't have a link to Thunderbird still.

What can I do?

I have not had access to my email since the April 18 Thunderbird update, receiving this error message: "After changing password on an IMAP account, the account could become locked due to too many failed login attempts" How do I fix it? This one has been driving me a bit batty as of late. I tend to use lots of extensions/add-ons and for most of them, I want the icons to show on the tool bar - that is, the part to the right of the URL/search bar. It used to be that you could adjust the size of your URL/search bar to make it smaller so that more add-on icons could be displayed - but as of recently, that is no longer possible (at least from what I can gather). Right now, I only have 10 add-on icons showing to the right of my URL bar and I have no clue how to access the other add-ons/extensions that I would like to use.

If I can recall correctly, at one time there was a way to show the additional extension/add-on icons in something called an overflow bar - but I can no longer find that, and half of the add-ons I want to access, I cannot do it because they are no longer shown to the right of the URL bar (except for the 10 that are there now).

So my questions are:

How can I resize the URL/Search bar to make it smaller width-wise, so that perhaps, more add-on icons will show to the right - and/or how can I access the rest of my add-ons if they are hidden in some kind of overflow bar?

I have included a screen shot on my current view, showing the add-on icons (some of them) that show to the right of the URL bar - but I have at least 10 others that I cannot find anywhere and would like them to show also.

I have tried to download the newest VDH Companion App (via the link on the github.com webpage) Seven (yes, 7) times and every time the download Fails or I get "Zero bytes". I tried to contact "Support" but there is only a Support Forum and nobody else has posted this as an issue that I was able to find when I searched. So no support is offered. The website suggests that I create an account to be able to post a new issue. However, Every time I have tried to set up a github.com account, I am Unable to do so. The page to set up an account either doesn't load OR if it loads, I can not add any information to it. I am a VDH Registered User and until this morning, the current VDH app I am using, version 8.2.1.1 was working just fine. But now when I try to use it, it says that my VDH Companion App needs to be updated. But I can not even download it to update it. I am running the current version of FF, 123.0.1 on an iMac with Sonoma OS 14.4. We used to be able to email Mig but not anymore. The github.com support page is unwieldy at best and I see that numerous requests for help or support have not been answered or even acknowledged. I am a paid Registered user with a license, but that doesn't seem to matter. I, like many others from what I read online, count on using this app almost every day and I would think that the mechanism for updates should be working correctly. The update files I tried to download came across at crazy low speeds, like 20.1 to 40.5 Kbps! I spent over an hour with Tech Support for HughesNet and much to my chagrin, No Other Websites had any issues with download speed. It was only happening on the github.com website and this one file update. Sorry if TMI but I am just trying to thorough.

Is it possible to change Firefox's default keybinds? I don't see an option for this in Settings, nor in about:preferences or about:config. Some discussions on these forums suggest autoconfig.conf but that doesn't seem to have any options for keybinds. I found several KB articles on customizing Firefox, but none said anything about default keybinds:

For example, I'd like to change the keybind to open a private window from the default [Shift]+[Cmd]+P to [Shift]+[Cmd]+N. The latter is standard on most other browsers and is in my muscle memory. Is there any way to do that?

All Add-ons are disabled and Firefox still can not play SOME of the videos on twitter. All I can see is a spinning circle on the center of the frame and the video will never be played. I tried other browsers and they all works well. It seems this issue has nothing to do with my network connection.

I searched this forum and find out some thread reporting issues of not playing All videos on youtube/twitter. Replies to these thread provided some solutions ,like update ffmpeg , set media related options in about:config. I tried them all and neither of them work for me.

My Wife's computer - still on Windows 10 - says it can't start Firefox as it is still running, hitting the "close Firefox now" button just returns us to the same screen. I tried to uninstall and reinstall Firefox it tried to do a "reinstall" it says her profile is no longer available, while inconvenient she still should be able to start it up, but it still gives me the same message. that it is still running and needs closed. Trying to "close it doesn't do anything. I have restarted several times and even did a shut down and restart. Nothing seems to work. I assume some "stub" of Firefox is out there in the system/cache making Firefox think it is is still active but I can't find it to shut it down. Where do I need to go to "end task" on this phantom Firefox?

Other information: 1. We have Norton Security software installed, if that matters. 2. The same seems to happening to Thunderbird, but maybe I need to go to another help forum for that? 3. I am entering this issue from my computer that seems to be just fine with Firefox, so can't send browser data as it is irrelevant to the issue (it's on a different computer and install instance.

Every third or fourth website I open, I get the "Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site." error. if I wait a few seconds and hit try again, it works. Very frustrating and slows me down every day. Here is what I tried so far:

-Booted firefox in safe mode to make sure it is not any of my extensions. (This did not solve the issue) -Cleared cache time range "everything" (This did not solve the issue) -Made sure my version of firefox is up to date -Updated windows and restarted my computer

Some clues that may help you help me: -This issue only appears on my home PC but not my work PC or laptop -The websites I am opening work fine on other browsers.
