Hi. When replying to an e-mail, Thunderbird has started to place to input cursor in the TO field instead of the message text field (in this case it should be before the answered text).

Any ideas? BR Johnny

Using 115.10.1 and POP on Windows 10 Pro (v. 22H2) with just the Windows built-in virus protection enabled (but App or Browser Control is disabled). Platform seems stable, no evidence of nefarious services noted in task manager.

Realized the emails in InBox from a couple of days ago (and going back decades) were blank or had mismatched headers to content. Figured an index problem. Ran the Repair under 'InBox' folder Properties, and only a few of the most recent emails remain - all duplicates of which I had sorted into other folders.

All the other folders are fine - just my InBox got wiped! Looked in the Thunderbird folder under profiles and saw the above captioned with a time-stamp that captures the approximate time this went down - occum's razor. I did not initiate any update to Thunderbird.

Walking on eggshells and very nervous, we're talking thousands of emails, what is the recommended recovery of the InBox (after I attempt to backup what I have left). Thanks!

We still use some Dell 13g servers equipped with idrac 8. When I'm trying to launch the virtual Console the window opens up but nothing shows. This used to work fine in previous versions of Firefox. I can't tell from which version it stopped but it's not long ago. Also idrac 9 console works fine in Firefox When trying to open console idrac 8 in Chrome it works fine Any idea what could be causing it? Any config switch to tweak?

For about 6 months now, I've been having a strange problem with Firefox leaving behind ghost entries on the Win 11 taskbar.

I have a laptop attached to a dock which is connected to multiple monitors. If I have a FF window open on one of those external monitors and disconnect from the dock, all the tabs that were open in that FF window will become ghost entries on the taskbar. (see attached image).

It doesn't matter if I close FF entirely, these entries remain until I restart the computer. If I click on one of them, it opens up a brand new, blank FF window.

Has anyone else experienced this or have any idea what might be going on? I tried doing some investigating a few weeks back and I remember finding something in the task manager about COM Surrogate that seemed connected, but I didn't get beyond that.

I have been struggling with slowness in Thunderbird in recent months (Windows 11, mid-range Lenovo laptop). There is often a distinct lag during even the smallest operations.

Examples are: selecting an email, closing a tab, typing, calendar events editing.

TB process in Windows usually uses 1000MB RAM. RAM is around 60-70% usage usually. I never have the same slowness issues with other applications.

I tried quite a bit: safe mode testing, removing extensions, compacting folders and more tips. I ended up removing Thunderbird and my profile entirely, and reinstalled the latest version with an empty profile. I just set up my Gmail and other email account. No extensions installed, yet still the same issue.

Could it be that something is still there from a previous install, if I removed my profile?

I've been using Thunderbird in Linux and Windows for years with moderate issues that I was able to resolve, but am now really puzzled. Please help.

Hello, I am trying to send emails from my iCloud account and it always fails due to the SMTP server timing out. I've tried making a new app-specific password, deleting and re-adding the account in Thunderbird, and made sure the authentication settings are right, but it still doesn't work. I can connect to the IMAP server just fine.

I had to delete and add back several accounts due to a change in servers (cox.net to yahoo.com). Prior to this I just had the All Folders, Local Folders and below. Now I have the Unified Folders and below, which are essentially a duplicate of the folders in the old All Folders. (See attached image) Not only is it making things confusing but I'm storing duplicate emails and it seems to be affecting performance, Thunderbird now randomly quits and restarts. So, how do I delete either the All Folders or the Unified Folders and move the few sub folders that are unduplicated into the remaining group?

I’m using the official ShadowsocksX app to relay network connections through a Shadowsocks server, and Firefox seems to be having compatibility issues. The browser does not load pages when proxy settings are set to “auto-detect” or “use system:” I’m getting the “Unable to connect” error message. Manually setting the SOCKS host to 127.0.0.1:XXXXX does fix the problem, but that also means I have to switch back to “system” whenever I turn Shadowsocks off.

Neither Safari nor Chrome requires manual action to relay connections on the same computer.

On a different computer, I’m using the Outline client to connect to the same Shadowsocks instance. Firefox does not have issues with that.

I have not had access to my email since the April 18 Thunderbird update, receiving this error message: "After changing password on an IMAP account, the account could become locked due to too many failed login attempts" How do I fix it? My Thunderbird email on my PC will only open intermittently in the last few days. Re-starting my computer sometimes helps, but only temporarily. There are no error messages- just nothing happens. I am still able to access email on other devices - just not on PC - which I use a lot. I'd be grateful for ideas of how to fix this. Thank you, Pam Rycroft

I can't search or write any url in search bar whenever I click on search bar it crashed my keyboard layout and it will be slide down. This error occurred while I download some files and didn't allow the notification for showing download in notification panel. When I have allow the download notification it works fine and download percentage shows in notification bar but I can't see my downloads in download tab. It's empty. These are bugs I am facing. Please fixed it I have give you the whole schenario of finding bug so you can get it clearly.

I'm noticing an abnormal battery usage in my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. Ive used other Chromium based browsers without issues. Sadly I'll have to stop using it.

Running Firefox 125.0.1 on MacOS 14.2.1, all audio input is very quiet for all applications, not just Firefox.

Experiments I ran:

• people can barely hear me in Google Meets
• microphone works great in Quicktime (making a recording) when Firefox is running but not receiving audio input
• microphone is very quiet in Quicktime when running a Google Meet in Firefox
• microphone is very quiet in Quicktime when running a discord voice channel in Firefox
• microphone works great in Quicktime when running Google Meet in Chrome

This started maybe ~3 months ago for me. I'd love to see a fix, since Firefox is my favorite browser in most other ways - otherwise I'll have to give up and switch to Chrome at long last :'(

Hello, I hope that this question is taken at face value. I Have tried working with the new UI since it was pushed and as of today I have had enough and I have reverted back to 102. there are a number of issues that have still not been addressed or fixed in 115 or 125 but the thing I keep finding increasingly infuriating is the UI. I understand UI is personal taste for some however for productivity changing the UI can be disastrous. it has been months since the release of 115. And the amount of time I have wasted because of the new UI is staggering. it is (to me and from what I am reading MANY others) extremely un-intuitive and tedious to use. I will not mention all the performance issues here as they are a separate issue. I would have liked to see an option to use the previous (read standard / tried and true) UI but since they did not, they appear to need an incentive to do such, so as the subject asks how much will it cost to add an option to revert the UI and how can we annotate that we would like it reverted as the donation page does not allow for notes or requests, and obviously the current leadership has a vision that is not in line with many users expectations.

I would like to reiterate this is not an attack on people who do like the new UI but a simple fact that many people appear to not like it and would like to be able to continue using the software both up to date and with a UI that actually makes sense to them since email clients have been virtually the same for over 2 decades now and that look and feel has become the de-facto standard in the industry for a reason.

TLDR: new UI is no longer intuitive to "industry standard" applications and I want to know how much it will cost to bring that back.

My firefox version: 124.2.0 My phone: Xiaomi redmi note 13

The problem: This problem is most prominent when I want to listen to music on youtube while having another app open. I have "video background play fix" add-on. Interestingly, just going to the home screen keeps the song playing, but once I go to any other app (tested with discord, whatsapp and veryfitpro) the song stops playing. Then I go back to the app and it reloads the entire website and the song is at the beginning waiting for me to press play. I've tried different battery optimization strategies in the app's settings and none of them worked. Tried clearing the cache.

Even after numerous Uninstalls and a Reinstalls I keep getting this error notice when trying to open Firefox...
