When I went to start firefox today on my MS Windows computer, I got a file error message saying pathway was corrupted (or something like that) and then the firefox app disappeared from my pinned toolbar. When I went and reinstalled it, all of my saved bookmarks and passwords were gone. How do I get them back?

I followed instructions for adding bookmarks from html file. Got to "import from html" . I can see the html file I want to access, but when I push "open" nothing happens.

A couple of months ago, I suddenly lost all my saved bookmarks, plus the ones on my toolbar. Strange thing is, all the folders and sub-folders I created are still there, they're just all empty.

Can I get them back somehow? I've been collecting them for years so can't replace them all!

Firefox 125.2 iMac OS x10.15

The latest updated to Firefox for Mac (125.0.2) has completely scrambled accessing my bookmarks. Before the update I could type T in the search bar and up popped the URL for The Globe and Mail; or N and the URL for the New York Times popped up. (This works because no other bookmark begins with these letters.) Both are in my Toolbar (no bookmarks have actually changed or disappeared with the update). Now when I type T, a completely different URL turns up, plus a drop-down menu of other URLs randomly selected from any of my bookmark lists IN WHICH A T APPEARS ANYWHERE in it; and when I type N, a website I've NEVER EVEN SEEN BEFORE (name.com) shows up, plus a drop-down menu with URLs from my bookmarks that contain an N anywhere in the URL. Why is this happening, and how to fix it? Please don't tell me I have to switch back to Safari.

I've just noticed a "Tree Of Tabs" option. I right-clicked a dozen tabs, hit Bookmark This Tree. The webpages disappeared. Now I can't find them, and they're not listed anywhere in history or recently closed tabs.

Good morning, I have a problem with disappearing bookmarks, but I can organise the backup of the places.sqlite, but I assume that won´t be enough to recover, therefore my question is, which files would be needed or is the one mentioned sufficient?

I am writing to inquire about the possibility of searching and organizing bookmarks on the Android app using tags. I have recently organized years of Firefox bookmarks on the desktop app by tagging my bookmarks and removing them from folders. I would very much benefit from being able to use a tag-based workflow on mobile as I do on desktop. I notice this question was first raised about 10 years ago. I would like to know if there are any updates, or if perhaps there is an add-on that can fill this gap. Thank you!

I get the following message when going online with Firefox: "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional because one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. Some security software can cause this problem." I've followed all the prompts to restart the computer, refresh the computer, delete the favicons.sqlite and places.sqlite and it won't allow me to delete them. This happened yesterday as well. Yesterday I could delete those files and everything was restored. But today I can't get it to work.

When you added a bookmark to a site in Firefox there used to be an option that when you hovered over the bookmark a dropdown would appear showing recent changes or additions to the site (see attached). It doesn't seem to be there any more - is there any means of restoring it? Thank you.

Mam dużo otwartych kart. Po zamknięciu kilku kart, gdy wyjdę z aplikacji (zminimalizuje ją) i wejdę ponownie karty które zamknąłem nadal są otwarte. Tak jakby otwierają się na nowo. To bardzo duży problem, nie mogę zamknąć kart. Nie znalazłem nigdzie odpowiedzi na ten problem Proszę o pomóc Pozdrawiam serdecznie

Why were my bookmarks wiped out by April 2024 forced Firefox update to my Android Samsung S21 Ultra? 😡 Since I don't synch, can't find a way to restore my many bookmarks.

With the update to 115.10.0esr my bookmarks that were on the left hand side of the screen are gone. When I look at bookmarks there are a few, but I had multiple folders for different subjects, I do not find. I would like to have the procedure to return my bookmarks back to the left hand side of the screen with all of my bookmarks, bookmark folders, and other bookmarks like it was prior to the update. What happened to it? When it was deleted? Why? Is there a way to restore it?

Dear Firefox community,

in the bookmarks page on iOS devices, Why can't we swipe back to the previous state and we have to press the previous arrow, Is it an issue or just something else?

Would want to make this post along time ago but I thought users and developers would notice it.
