I am on a brand-new machine and having trouble setting up the Firefox browser.

When I click on a link it opens in a new window with all the tabs ready opened.

How do I open a tab without opening a new window?

Also, how do I set Yahoo.com as my default search engine?

For some time now, e-mails have been arriving with a delay, e.g. from April 15, they arrived only on April 18. The mail is on the home.pl server pinned via IMAP.

I want to setup my Gmail account that my school hosts. It has a unique domain name and Thunderbird does not recognize it as a Gmail account, but I'm sure it is. Here's what I did to solve the problem (yet no luck) First, I tried to setup with manual IMAP configuraiton by following the steps on LifeWire Article and Google Support, but it says that credentials that I'm using is wrong. It did detect the Gmail mail server though. Next, I tried to pretend that I'm going to login as a user I've created ON GOOGLE so thunderbird can recognize it as Gmail Account, then logged in with my school credential, and it failed. Probably because I've entered fake Gmail address in the form. It's very inconvenient that I cannot setup mail accounts with OAuth authentication method manually.

Do you have a walkaround for this?

I created a backup of my Thunderbird profile including various email accounts and calendar. I used the build in export function of Thunderbird to create this backup. Unfortunately the file is slightly bigger than 2GB.

I had a severe copmputer crash now and I wanted to import the backup. It turns out that the zip-achive is damaged. I cannot unpack it with any zip-software and also repairing the archive with winrar did not work.

Is there any chance that I can at least restore some of the information?

I am using Ubuntu 23.10.1 with KDE Plasma desktop environment. Since recently I've been experiencing the following problem with Firfox document viewer: after a period of inactivity, PDFs become unreadable, and seem to cumulate everything that was displayed on screen (see screenshot). Ctrl + F5 does not help, and neither does closing the window and opening a new one with a link to the file. KDE Document Viewer displays the same file correctly.

I want to change the reminder sound. I already downloaded a MP3 file and I selected it on "Reminders", "Use the following sound file". I can see the window that pops up, but no sound is played. Also when I click on Play, it doesn't work. I know the sound file is fine, thus I can play it on my laptop. What should I do? Another question, is there any Add-on with Reminder sounds?

Hello, For some reason, over the past couple of months I have been searching for varied emails and they are missing! At one point, I found that some had been put in an archive folder (that I did NOT set up) and they were recent emails. I removed them from the folder, placed them back in the regular inbox and deleted that folder. When I could not find another very important series of emails today, after searching numerous ways, I looked in the server and missing emails are there. I did look at a number of email threads where other people reported similar problems... but couldn't figure out what applied to my situation and how to fix this. To show a specific example, I attached two images ... the first is my Thunderbird email account that shows one Email only on Feb 18, 2024. The Juno server image shows 7 emails on that same date, four which were important contracts that were sent to me. Can you please help me locate and retrieve these and other missing emails? A website's verification code box was one digit too small. Had to use another browser to complete the verification. The website is http://www.ssa.gov

I never had this problem before.Specifically, the last digit in the verification code code not enter the box.

I tried to delete my primary password online, but system would not allow me to do so. I have exhausted all avenues to seek help, but to no avail. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Tmg3842@yahoo.com

today 4/18/2024 firefox update. Now browser is slow. Task manager showing currently 15 firefox open, even though only one new tab is selected. It is causing laptop to overheat, fan is running constantly. Nothing else is open.

Hi, so on my office pc I work with firefox. I made an account specifically to store every bookmarks etc on that account so when my company updates something I'll always have my bookmarks. Unfortunately somehow since yesterday they all disapeared, and no I'm unable to recover them with the different methods that are foreseen on your website. please advise kr daniel

Since applying update 115.10.0, Thunderbird will not close correctly and will not relaunch until task is ended in task Manager. This is true on a windows 7 PC and windows 10.

I have been struggling with this problem for about 6 months now and no-one I've asked has been able to help me. Even my computer guru failed me! I think it was after an update about last June when I started having this problem An nothing I've tried has had any effect. I had a Geek Squad guy on the phone with me for about 45 minutes to no effect. He said he'd never seen the problem before. I have business emails on that account so I don't want to risk losing them. I followed instructions for adding bookmarks from html file. Got to "import from html" . I can see the html file I want to access, but when I push "open" nothing happens.

I have created two lists of email addresses to which I want to sent the same email. However I can't get the list into the address bar either To. CC or BCC. As there are some 20 addresses typing each address in the list, I had hoped that I would not have to type all of these again each time I send out an email. Any help would be most welcome.

Can't print emails or any saved Thunderbird files. I click on FILE>PRINT and get the print preview, butwhen I click on "PRINT" I get a "printer offline message". I can print from Microsoft Word or PDF files and any other program. It appears that everything worked well until the latest Windows update was installed.

I am using an HP printer and print via HP's Smart Print software which I believe is the default. I'm not sure if this is a Thunderbird issue or another screw up by Microsoft.
