Since today, we experience an unusual problem in Mozila Thunderbird. The program ask for the password for the email that is already sign in. And if we enter the password, it ask for the password again. The error is "login to server outlook.office365.com with username failed". Our company need to solve this problem because we use Mozila Thunderbird for over 100 employee.

I have 3 email accounts two of the email accounts keep using the same user name in the SMTP Server settings. I have to keep changing it in order to send or receive emails. If I dont I get this window error which is attached or below.

I'm increasingly disappointed with the formatting issues in the mail editor, as it is all over the place.

I can't set a default font size in pt (why?) - small, medium, large etc settings are meaningless. They look different at the receiving end than in my editor, they keep changing with each line, they don't easily override the text copied and pasted in, the arbitrary text increase/decrease is unreliable and unpredictable.

An email I sent just now finally looked ok - but when I saw it in the SENT folder - the lines were all in different size!! I send mainly professional (business) emails and simply cannot afford such a mess with text all over the place.

The font type again, is unreliable and changes unpredictably.

I've had the formatting issues with pretty much every email I have sent over the past week or so. With so much hassle, extra time and ongoing corrections with my emails, I'm seriously considering moving back to Outlook, in spite of spending several hours on setting up TB.

Could someone explain please why the most important element of the email client - the message editor - is so poorly designed, after so many years? Why there is no font setting in point size, like in all other email clients?

I use Thunderbird Version 101.0.1 on a Windows 10 PC. I am in England UK. All my email accounts are setup as IMAP.

I note that email messages in the 'draft' folder can be edited and the messages have an 'edit' button. This means, you can edit and save messages.

I have created folders in Thunderbird and I move messages from 'drafts folder' into these folders. Problem is I can't edit them and save them. I have to keep moving the message into 'drafts' then edit and save and move. This is inconvenient. 

I have tried various add ons but none do what i want. How can I make Thunderbird, show the 'edit' button on messages in my other folders so that I can save the message and edit it later.

Where can you suggest that Thunderbird make such an add-on.

My SMPT set up is FINE; it has never changed. It has NOTHING to do with 'adding semicolons" between addresses; I have NEVER had to do that before; please don't suggest that now.


message: "Sending message failed. An error occurred while sending email. The mail server responded: error sending message for delivery..Please check message and try again."

It happens with 2, it happens with 10, it happens with 25 or 40 recipients.

I use Thunderbird 91.10.0 (32 bit) for my Xfinity email account. (OS Windows 7 32 bit Home Premium). No, I cannot upgrade to a newer version of Windows. A few months ago someone hacked my Xfinity email account, and all my incoming emails began going to the junk folder. I resolved the hacking issue with Xfinity, but still have the problem with the emails going to the junk folder. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Thunderbird, unchecked Enable adaptive junk mail controls for this account, added a filter to send junk emails to my Inbox, I have Reset Training Data twice, attempted to retrain by marking as Not Junk for several weeks, and marking some as Junk. I have tried Do not automatically mark mail as junk if the sender is in Collected Addresses and Personal Address Book. I noticed some McAfee products that were installed on my computer without my permission around the same time, and removed them. I also started receiving numerous phishing emails asking me to confirm purchases I did not make including various McAfee products and other items. These all were deleted and no replies sent to them. Nothing has solved the problem so far, all my messages keep going to the junk folder. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I normally protect all of my passwords via Firefox by a log in when I start up Thunderbird. This login has suddenly vanished and at the same time I am unable to receive e mails. However I am getting no error messages concerning my access to the server nor when I start up thunderbird. I think the problem might be because I declined to register with a certificate provider. However this request came without any notification of who or why this message had been sent which made me hesitate. My e mail server is via IEEE which is now handled by GMail. However the day before this problem started I had found that my log in to that server would not work and I rather than recreating a new password I contacted IEEE about the issue and my login was restored. I do not know whether this credentially request came from IEEE, or Gmail but I assume that it is somehow linked to my suddent inability to sign in to Thunderbird in the usual way. I do not know whether my passwords are still protected nor what is happening. Can you help? I at the moment however cannot receive e mails. Though you could send me an e mail via [email]@gmail.com Thanks Terence

I have tried everything I read in your "help" pages but no matter how I set up Thunderbird for Email I cannot get it to send. I recently had to purchase a new computer that has Windows 11. Is Thunderbird unable to work with Windows 11? I'm so frustrated at this point & need HELP. For your information the SMTP is set up as: description: [edited email from public] @skybeam.com Server Name: securemail.risebroadband.net Port: 465 (I've tried 587 but it doesn't make a difference) User: My Email Address Authentication: Normal Password Connection Security SSL/TLS

Note: I've checked Thunderbird & the passwords on both Incoming & Outgoing is correct.
