bold textWhen I click onto Firefox, it opens a tab that says Invalid URL. If I click onto the + next to it, it opens up into the firefox browser. What can I do about the original tab??

When I try to open Firefox I am getting this error message: Error: platform version '124.0.1' is not compatible with minVersion >= 124.0 maxVersion <= 124.0. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Deb PS I need simple instructions, I'm not terrible techy.

I've noticed lately that my Firefox keeps freezing and hanging up at random periods for no apparent reason. I have very few plugins and it even happens with them all disabled and removed. I've tried resetting Firefox to default everything yet it makes no difference.

Also I can not clear history. I've tried multiple different clear history plugins but none of them work at all. And when I try the traditional way of clearing Firefox history the window pops up and then the entire browser just freezes while 'clearing' and never gives me back control, I have to force quit and restart to regain control. And then when I relaunch the history is still not cleared!

So aside from the constant lagging and lockups it seems that any attempt to delete history whether using the inbuilt function or adding plugins messes up the whole browser.

Googling this issue it seems others are having the exact same problem with Firefox and yet any suggested solutions (reset browser) don't seem to be working for may of them.. Or me.

Hello everyone. Well, I've been using Firefox for a few months, maybe a semester now, I don't remember. But the point is that since yesterday I have been facing a serious problem of not being able to download any type of file (MP4, PDF, .JSON, ISO, etc.). I've already used the troubleshooting mode and I've also restarted my laptop, but it didn't help. I've also gone to the advanced settings (see 'about:config > browser.download') and reset/deleted the data for each command but the problem still persists.

What happens is the following: I click to download the file in question, however, nothing happens other than the page loading that commonly occurs when downloading something. Still, the file does not appear in the downloads tab and there is not even the option to choose where to save the file (e.g. Downloads folder, Documents folder). The download simply appears to have failed.

Exactly, it 'appears', because today I discovered that all my downloads were being directed without my permission/action to the 'downloads' folder (And that's not where I want them to go). The problem would be smaller if only this happened, as I would then just get the files downloaded there and then change to the desired folder, thus trying to move forward despite the problem. But the downloaded files themselves are not operational, they have the icon when a file is still downloading, in addition to not having a name, everything being just a cluster of codes.

In the end, there are files, large and small, that have no use and that I don't even have control over where to direct them. Which is still a huge problem because I still technically can't download anything from the browser. Please, I really need your help on how to resolve this problem.

Note: Also, when I close and open the browser, the first download I try appears in the downloads tab, but it fails instantly and cannot be resumed, making it an eternal failure.

Other browsers work fine - Edge, Chrome. Firefox had been working fine and abruptly started behaving badly. I powered down my system and restarted, that's when the "Unable to connect" started. Uninstalled and reinstalled, still happening. Uninstalled and scrubbed system of all relevant traces of Firefox (didn't meddle with minor registry entries), restarted and reinstalled. Still "Unable to connect".

I have exhausted my knowledge set and the only thing I know of that I have yet to try is monitor the ethernet stack or process activity.

I am a bookkeeper and use QuickBooks Online (QBO)(AUS version) as my preferred accounting program, Intuit recommends using Chrome, but I had problems with that too, in that it has fields in QBO that will not work, I have switched to Firefox because it handles the 'black' look and the columns within the ledgers are more stable, however Firefox is constantly crashing it can recover most times to where I was, but it is most infuriating. Question is, is this a known problem and can it be fixed by changing the settings? Geoff Woodford

It didn't, not always. Over the years, there have been times when the issue would still pop up, but not as often as before (2022 and earlier).

I have a feeling that during an issue, FF is having difficulty setting up shop after starting up. Consequently, it is spending more time before it could become prepared to connect to the Net. I've come up with another "solution," which is deleting (or moving out) xulstore.json in the profile folder after exiting or before starting FF. You can create a batch command or script to execute the process.

So far, FF is connecting immediately after startup.

The USPS website does not work properly with Firefox!! The Home page loads okay but there are multiple other issues with links not working. For instance all of the links under Quick Tools do not work except this one: https://www.usps.com/manage/po-boxes.htm. Other things don't work either.

Everything works fine that I tried with Google Chrome though! Please address soon.

I have a very fast internet connection, 200 mbps and everything else on both my laptop and my mobile phone are working fine but Firefox is very slow. Pages load ok but videos will play for a short time and then freeze never to continue and downloads are painfully slow, 2 to 4 mbps. Edge and Chrome download normally and videos play with no issue. I need this fixed or Firefox is going bye bye!

I'm a Reddit user and until today I used to login just fine. Now I get the error message "Incorrect username or password" when I try to login in Mozilla Firefox (version 119.0.1 (64-bit)). If I use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge I log in with no problem.

i have just downloaded Firefox and i go to open in and it flashes open an close immediately. the occurs every time that i open the program. i have reinstalled it multiple times to see if that's the issue, used the Microsoft store to download it, the website, i tried to get the beta that didn't help and i was just wondering what the issues was and wondering if you could. i looked in the error message folder as well and its empty.

I have had firefox browser for a while now and it has always worked fine. Now I`m suffering from that internet pages can`t be loaded ( see attachment ). I think,am not sure since the last update. The weird thing is that youtube does work and can just play video`s also 4K. I have read the error report but can`t really do much with it. Is there anyone who can help me in the right direction?

I seem to have gotten something called Google Ad Services. It frequently interferes with my getting to websites and I cannot find how to block it or remove it. HELP!

Why, with not very many active open windows, and just after opening, is FF using 175% of my CPU, not counting all the separate listings in my Activity Monitor. Plus it's using nearly all 16 GBs of my RAM. With every new update, I pray it will mean the browser will just work, and not use up all my computer's resources, but it just never does. Pretty soon, more & more of us will just give up on this browser, which used to work better, years ago, and has only gone downhill since.

I recently made the switch to Firefox. I attempted to use the version downloaded from the internet, which I already had installed for a long time, but it would not open. I then used the version available on the Microsoft Store, which worked fine. Eventually, Firefox crashed and would not reopen. A message saying something along the lines of "Are you sure you want to start Firefox in safe mode?" would appear for a split second, and then close. I tried:

-Starting Firefox in safe mode, but nothing happened. -Restarting my computer. -Reinstalling Firefox. -Running as administrator. -Checking it is not blocked by antivirus. -Using the profile manager to create a new profile: The .zip file version opens but does not help, and the version opened by using the "firefox.exe -P" command in Run suffers from the same problem as the browser and opens for only a split second. -Attempting to boot my computer in safe mode with networking, however, the Microsoft Store listed Firefox as uninstalled, and the network menu would not display any networks so I could not reinstall it. -Searching for any Comodo iseguard.dll files, but I found none.

The only thing that worked was searching "Mozilla" in files and deleting everything except what my computer said was part of the system. After that, I was able to open Firefox, but after a short amount of time, the problem started all over. I have no clue what to do and looking all over for solutions is driving me nuts! Please help!

For a few days now, I have not been able to play videos. I get this message in the video screen: "If playback doesn’t begin shortly, try restarting your device." When I opened Firefox in Troubleshooting mode, the video played OK and then when I stopped Troubleshooting mode the videos continued to play OK. However, on the next day the problem reappears. A while ago I formatted my computer, and installed FireFox for the first time. Ever since installing FireFox, I noticed an issue which has been a constant source of frustration, when I rewind any YouTube video the playback volume changes to a lower value, until I rewind again.

I tried looking online, this is the closest match I've found, but there's no solution there

I tested this issue on different browsers (Edge, and IE), no problems there. I tried disabling extensions, no change. I tried resetting FireFox, no change. I made sure that Windows doesn't automatically adjust system volume. I tested this issue on different Video platforms, no problems there.

I use YouTube when I practice (music), so I rewind a lot.

Any help is very appreciated.

Greetings. I can't open most sites I usually visit (even google.com) via my Firefox 98.0a1. This happens since today. All error codes are SEC_ERROR_LIBRARY_FAILURE.

Tried to:

• Disable DNS-over-HTTPS.
• Disable HTTP/3.
• Disable proxy (never had it enabled anyway).
• Disable sending info to Firefox developers.
• Change settings of DNS-over-HTTPS.
• Restart the browser (after each action).

Nothing helps me... But I still can visit some websites, but most common resources are not working for me. Please help me because I can't use Microsoft Edge without getting mentally ill. :/

Firefox is becoming more and more buggy and more unstable using more than 8Gb of ram in either the apps processes or if not there then in the background processes and when you look into the firefox task manager it reports it is using no more than maybe 100 MB of ram the only way to stop it is to close the one process that is using all the memory. when i investigate using the about:memory function it tries to tell me that it is an extension using the memory but if i disable the 2 extensions i use and reload the measure memory it still is using exactly the same amount of memory. is there any sort of fix for this because i am getting sick of having to have the windows task manager open to close the rogue process every time i use my browser
