I have a website related to local school where I can book / lookup / pay times for child care. It worked fine until about February, then on my Windows 10 computers (Desktop and Laptop) it did no longer connect due to a security problem. Fortunately I could do the payment via my computer at work. Now during Corona and home office this did not work any longer. I tried allowing cookies for that site (exception), have allowed TLS 1.0/1.1 before FF turned back that setting. No chance always the "Secure Connection failed" window with no further error message/cause. see picture

Yesterday I installed a Ubuntu 20.0 side-by-side on my laptop including latest Firefox. With the right link and Cookies allowed for that site I was able to connect.

What can I do to make it work on my Windows machines again resp. get some meaningful error message giving the cause of the connection failure? Doesn't work for some security reasons really does NOT help!

Something is changing my default PDF viewer to Libra open office where I have it always on fireFox pdf viewer.

If I set it one time. The wps gets to open up in Task mgr and always is there to take over PDF's.

WHY and how can some security setting let this happen. ?

Going to program defaults-- does not even show FoxIT Reader but shows the WPS Libre office. and its defaults are greyed out that can't be changed so it doing this on its own also. WPS libre office defaults are greyed out and can't be changed. So their setting override ??? OMG>

Hey Folks,

I'm the CA guy in our company and we have an SAP webserver (I know... :-/) running an website on port 8310. There is an valid wildcard certificate attached to this site. All browsers show this as valid but not Firefox. Message is SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN. Domain ist hostname.sap.domain.tld:8310. Cert ist *.sap.domain.tld. With sha256, SANs etc. Firefox also trustes this CA and Root CA of course. Otherwise there would be another error with untrusted issuer or so.

Why does it not match and why does Firefox show the 8310 port there? I'm searching for days but do not find anything.

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi,

I am running Firefox 75.0 and have tried configuring custom DoH to use recently released CloudFlare families. The Cloudflare community article here https://community.cloudflare.com/t/community-tip-best-practices-for-1-1-1-1-for-families/160496 states that family.cloudflare-dns.com supports DoH.

When using Firefox with the "CloudFlare (default)" DoH configuration I can capture http traffic using Telerik Fiddler to mozilla.cloudflare-dns.com however when I set custom DoH in Firefox to family.cloudflare-dns.com or https://family.cloudflare-dns.com I don't see any http traffic being sent to family.cloudflare-dns.com.

I have found this Mozilla support article https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1284502 that has a bug raised https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1618042 which appears to be resolved in Firefox 76. I didn't understand the technical detail of the bug raised and I'm not sure if I am raising the same issue.

Hi,

queston 1

in Firefox 74.0 under "Privacy & Security" > "Enhanced Tracking Protection" I selected "Custom" and checked/ticked all available entries: Cookies (All Cookies!), Tracking content, Cryptominers and Fingerprinters.

I had cleared all data (especially all cookies). Then I reloaded page. Although I did the settings above, Firefox still stored cookies. How is that possible?

I see the stored cookies with the help of extension called "Cookie Quick Manager": https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/cookie-quick-manager

question 2

is there any extension which blocks the "Allow cookie" permission requests of website, where you need to click on OK or Allow to make the popup disappearing?

Thanks !

I am adding Stripe to my online blog. when entering Test Key Password I receive "This connection not secure" password warning. The connection does indicate HTTPS:// with the gray lock in the locked position.

When I select the gray lock there is a message:

"This connection is secure. Connection verified by a certificate user that is not recognized by Mozilla."

Is this webpage secure and should I ignore this message? Do I need to register my website with Mozilla to remove the warning?

Thanks,

Lately I have had to use Safari in order to get a website to function. The NM TAP site a few weeks ago, the NM MVD site, a Toyota dealership in Albuquerque, NM, and just now the donation site for Warren Democrats.

I made a donation and went to Thank you! Your $XX.00 contribution has been completed. Followed by a blue rectangle with Continue in it. Try as I might by clicking on and around it I could not get it to do anything. It seems that this may be a privacy settings issue but I'm not sure how to identify or correct it.

When I try to access the website https://revoked.grc.com/, at first I get a dialog about expired certificate. When I click Accept the risk and continue, the site loads. This is somewhat unexpected since the site's certificate is revoked (https://crt.sh/?id=123799530&opt=ocsp), and this shouldn't be possible to override by user. Is this a bug or a feature?

I do believe that this behavior is easy to replicate everywhere, so I'd like to ask anybody who's about to respond with "send us diagnostics data" or "reset your profile", please try the steps yourself first.

Never had to work from home so all of this is new to me.

I need two pieces of software to connect to each other and my workplace for me to be able to work from home. However, even though I have selected to allow the use of the microphone in FireFox, it does not let me connect to my work place, stating that it does not recognise my employer's certificate, and I have to click on icons hoping that it will allow me to connect.

Part of this issue is a pulsating red microphone icon, which seems to be the problem.

Can someone please tell me how to get rid of this problem so it stops blocking access to my workplace.

Please see attached image for clarification.

Hi,

Just downloaded the latest HPE Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP). It's an ISO which contains a site for updating server firmware. When I run it, it automatically starts Smart Update Manager and tries to launch in a tab in the default browser. Firefox says "Did Not Connect: Potential Security Issue" with the error code SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER. I looked at the KB for that and it's not relevant (using MS Defender). If I try it with Chrome, it throws a warning but allows me to make an exception. Is this a known issue? I can't seem to find anything online about it.

Running Firefox 75.0 Build 20200403170909 on Win 10 Ent x64 10.0.18362.778.

Certificate details pic attached.

Rgds,

Ali

I have content security policy headers defined for my site. However, I have nothing defined for script-src. When I load a certain page from my site in Firefox 76.0 I see the following messages in the console:

Content Security Policy: The page’s settings blocked the loading of a resource at inline (“script-src”). 8 utils.js:35:9 Content Security Policy: The page’s settings blocked the loading of a resource at inline (“script-src”). 2 gps.js:231:11 Content Security Policy: The page’s settings blocked the loading of a resource at inline (“script-src”). 4 utils.js:35:9 Content Security Policy: The page’s settings blocked the loading of a resource at inline (“script-src”). gps.js:231:11 Content Security Policy: The page’s settings blocked the loading of a resource at inline (“script-src”). 3 utils.js:35:9

When I load the same page in Chromium, I see no such messages in the console.

Furthermore, there are no utils.js and gps.js scripts in the source of the loaded page. Finally, I see no problems with the display or the functionality of the page. Clearing all the cookies and the caches (local and server) has no impact on this issue. There are many other javascripts on the page, both inline and not, which do not appear to be affected but the existing settings.

So, my questions: 1) Why do these messages appear? 2) Is this an issue that I need to fix or can I safely ignore it? 3) what do the numbers after the script names mean? (gps.js:231:11 utils.js:35:9)
