Long story short...I lost my hard drive, reinstalled windows....I never used a firefox login on this laptop. I do have a backup of all my data/appfiles --- actually i cloned the failed drive. So I have this directory in my backups:

D:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\810aqnu7.default-release-1636153011215\bookmarkbackups. There are a bunch of JSON versions of bookmarkfiles there stored....how can i get my bookmarks back with these files?

where is the "current bookmark files" stored? which directory?

bold textI need to sync my phone to my new computer so I can get my bookmarks and passwords transferred over to my new computer. I am afraid to scan the QR code because it reads as if it will sync this empty canvas to my phone and wipe all of my data out. What steps do I need to take?

Since the last Firefox update to 108.01, or that is when I first noticed this problem. When I have many tabs open right to the end of the tab bar the new tab + disappears off the screen. The more tabs I open it does correctly automatically reduce the width of the tabs but pushes the + tab off to the right, this never use to happen before it always kept the new tab + in view.

Hi, When you click "settings" in notifications, in the privacy and security settings, a new window opens instead of a tab, so this setting has no URL of its own. In Chromium-based browsers they have the URL "*browser name*://settings/content/notifications", so I could add this URL to bookmarks and access it quickly. Is there any way to do something similar in Firefox? Thanks

Po aktualizacji czcionki stały się kwadratowe i nieczytelne. Chciałam całkiem wyłączyć aktualizacje automatyczne bo tylko szkodzą ale się nie da. Pomoc też nie działa trzeba szukać w milionach artykułów a i tak nie ma rozwiązań konkretnego problemu. Jestem o krok od dezinstalacji Firefoxa choć używam go od lat, ale jeśli nie dostanę teraz pomocy to czas zmienić przeglądarkę. Dodatkowo tryb pełnoekranowy po pewnym czasie staje sie czarny ekran i się zawiesza dopiero odświeżanie pomaga ale też na różny czas czasem na dłu żej a czasem na chwilę tylko. Znalezienie rozwiązania graniczyy z cudem bo nie ma bezpośredniej pomocy ty;lko czytanie miliona niezwiązanych artykułów

Whenever I open Firefox in MacOS Ventura (13.0.1) it opens in full screen. I want it to open a bit smaller so I can see my desktop behind it. Full screen is fine for a laptop, but I run it on a 26" widescreen monitor. How can I set it so it only covers, say, 3/4 of the screen?

Suddenly today my browser had switched any current tab to the bottom of my window, but it also only lets me see one at a time..which means I can't see multiple tabs open unless I close the current one. My tab bar is gone entirely and was up-top as it's always been, just under the URL box.

I didn't hit any key combos that I know of that would cause this, and I can't seem to find anyone else with the same problem when I search for a solution. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this?? It's very odd and annoying, I've never had it happen before now..

Firefox on Win10 has lost all of my logins. I tried launching a new profile, but no good. In the settings "logins.json" has become "logins.json.corrupt" and renaming it does nothing. The Firefox on my two android devices still have the logins intact is there a way to send them to the Windows version?

I actually posted this same question 18 months ago. I DID manage to solve it, but I cannot remember how, and since then I have changed computer. I have google set as my home page, and it automatically opens on every new tab, which is what I wanted. The problem is that when I open a new tab, the cursor is automatically positioned in the address bar, whereas I want to insert my search terms in the seach box in the middle of the page. How can I stop search terms being written in the address bar? I think I've set just about every possible search and browser option to false in about:config. Florio

  Just setting up new LG Gram laptop,

I have only a dumb flip phone, no email on that, no qr code reader. traveling with laptop, only on line email to get verification code. You state sms is not secure for receiving security code. Yet, many other sites do use a sms code to confirm login.

I am receiving hundreds of spam emails from gmail.com email addresses and they all say to: and list at least 20 or more googlegroups.com groups. SO it seems they are using my yahoo email to send all these google groups a message to join some dating site. Most all of them go to spam or trash but I want to know if I can block them completely by blocking or using a filter that can block words, or domains like @googlegroups.com. SEE BELOW It only shows my email in the raw message. Your filters only allow me to send them to the trash folder when I would rather block them 100% I have no idea why I am receiving them and not a member of googlegroups and they are using my email to send these through. I can block each gmail but they change every time. I do not know if there is a actual from email I could block that is hid in the raw message but I doubt it since they change the from email.

I have Gyazo installed. To take printscreens it uses "ctrl+shift+..." commands

Since Mozilla Firefox also uses "ctrl+shift+..." commands it happens very oftenly that the console (default F12) opens -> instead of performing my intented printscreen.

==> HOW DO I DISABLE the FIREFOX CTRL+SHIFT+... COMMANDS, so that the console doesn't open when I use my Gyazo ctrl+shift+... commands?

When I go to a website that can push notifications, next to the url there's this animation that you can click to allow the notifications. I want to turn off this animation. This question has been asked before and the answer was: "Go to about:config and set dom.webnotifications.enabled = false". I did this, but I still have the animation. What should i do?
