The Debian Firefox packages available are only 115.6. Thought it would be nice to have the latest. Grabbed all the dependencies according to the Mozilla web site.

Installed Firefox 121.0 as root and placed folder into /opt, as instructed. Went through all the settings and imported my bookmarks.

Now there is a 121.0.1 upgrade available but my browser won't automagically install the upgrade. Says click here to download. So I do. I get the entire tar.bz2 bundle, which creates a full directory structure, as if I was starting over.

Can I just move a few files from that into the existing /opt/firefox directory to get the upgrade? If so, which ones?

Or, can I move few files from the existing directory into the new version, and replace the whole lot? If so, which ones?

I have two end users that are having a different issues but they are of similar nature. First user can not upload anything to Microsoft Share point. She gets a message that says she does not have proper permissions to upload. She does not have the same issue on Chrome or Edge. The second user is trying to download and or save a file from a couple of different websites but regardless on where she tries to save it on her computer it says she does not have proper permissions to save to "x" file location. She also does not have this issue when she is on Chrome or Edge.

For both users I have tried clearing cache and cookies, Rebooting their computers, uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, deleting registry keys/user data from the computer itself. I have had no luck with resolving this issue and I can not find anything online that remotely resembles this issue.

Hello Before I reset my PC some months ago, I almost never had to Login to sites, as the kept me logged in. This no longer happens, and now I frequently have to Login to eg. my Google account which needs third party autho and all sorts. It is rather annoying having to Login to Google every time I close the Window.

I do not have this setting on: "delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed" I do have this setting on: "Ask to save logins and passwords for web sites"

It does save my Password and autofill, which makes it easier. But it is still annoying, that I have to login to everything every time.

I have tried reinstalling Firefox, to no avail.

I have attached images of what slowly occurs when I don't clear my cookies, websites start to slowly and slowly load less and less until they eventually completely break and wont load and I have to clear my cookies, resign into everything. and rinse and repeat every few days or a week, I also attached an image of what the purchase screen is supposed to look like. When I login into some WEB site it goes in to an endless loop continues? It used to work before you forced the download of version of 0esr, when the old none 0esr worked fine. As a example: I am trying to login to xcelenergy.com site and it keeps flipping back and forth with these two lines ( parts of lines deleted because you might get into my account )in the address bar -

I have included the 2 of screen captures that it flip's through of maybe a another 2 screens (can not tell, it flips through to fast).

 Firefox version using now:      115.6.0esr (64-bit) or the 32bit Version, I tried both. Then load an old back version it works fine but then it gets upgrade to the new version again.
  my version of windows:         8.1, with all Firefox ad blockers and other ad blockers turned off or on does not matter. 
      The reason I will not upgrade my software is that I would have to buy a lot of new software upgrades that I use, and can  

not afford at this time on my retirement.

I'm experiencing a problem when I visit certain websites, like 'https://mui.com/x/react-data-grid/'. Every time I try to access this site, the page starts an infinite reloading loop, preventing me from using the website normally.

To log into my mortgage lender's site I have to enter my email address. Beside this field is the Facebook container symbol; mousing over it warns me that if I enter my email here, Facebook can track me. Mortgage Lender used to allow me to log in with a user name, but now requires my email address, which apparently gives Facebook access to track me. Tried speaking to the lender about this, but they simply assert there are no Facebook trackers on their site. So, any workaround for this besides just doing all my business with them by phone from now on?

I keep getting a message that says on YouTube "experiencing interruptions, find out why?'. The videos pause and are choppy. When I click find out why, it's telling me to turn off my high resolution. I don't even know how to do this. My tower is connected to a samsung hd smart tv, that serves as my monitor. I have a wireless keyboard and mouse. The message is constant - all day long, every day. Can you please help me fix this problem. I am a paying member of YouTube Premium. Thank you.

Hi, I used to be able to go to my email with Foxfire Mozilla with one click. Now I have to go to gmail, click on user name, insert my password twice, and then go to my phone to click on "yes, it is me" and sometimes before that enter a code, and then go to update securty all before I can read my email. I don't need any of this; I am the only user of my account and the only person who uses my computer. I am very unhappy with this. Also, just recently I now have lots of popups, most about music. It isn't even advertising, that I could understand, just annoying boxes of useless information that I have to dismiss. What is going on?,

Here is a rather long winded explanation of my problem initially prepared for an email to Firefox until I found out that was not a possibility. Hello Agent, I have a problem with Firefox described as follows: I have an account with a company called Eversfield Organic an organic meat company. They have a facility whereby the delivered cold packs and insulating material can be returned to them via DPD free of charge. To achieve this a form has to be completed on Eversfields site to enable a returns label to be printed. When attempting to complete this form one line of this form will not accept an input. This item is called the “Country” which should read “United Kingdom”. I cannot input this manually or by my password manager “RoboForm” which temporary inputs United Kingdom until I release the mouse button when it goes blank again. I have tried the Google Chrome and Opera browsers which work perfectly using this system. So logically it would appear that there is a fault with Firefox which is a shame since it is my preferred browser. It would be appreciated if you can provide a solution to this problem. when i try to log on to my USAA bank accounts.

Tech support at the bank worked with me for an hour. We changed password, cleared the cache for the bank's apps, restarted Firefox, restarted the computer, all to no avail. I declined to try Google, simply because i don't trust it. Tech support person said another bank customer had had same problem and just changed browsers, which i don't want to do.

Hello, My Antivirus sofware (GData Internet security) showed the attached message (in German) two times today. It says in English something like:

It was tried to access an infected archive

Virus: Trojan.GenericKD.71195125 (Engine A) File: 0B3C6E11DBBC160A3AAFC100C8BAB878F5EE0C Directory: C:\Users\re-ge\AppData\Local\Mozilla Firef Process: firefox.exe

The line ending with "Firef" may indicate that lines are truncated.

I've been using the following in userChrome.css for many years

1. menu_close { display: -moz-box !important; }

to restore "Close Tab" in the File menu, based on cor-el's response regarding restoring menu_bookmarkAllTabs here:

This stopped working some time ago and I am finally getting around to asking why.

I do have toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets set to true, and other items in userChrome.css are working.

I am using 121.0 at home and 115.0 ESR at work and see the same (i.e. no "Close Tab"), in both cases on Debian testing. I do see this menu item when using the keyboard to open the File menu.

Any idea why this no longer works?

Every once in awhile i get a second Firefox icon pinned to my taskbar and also a second listing for firefox in my programs list. If i try and delete the extra version there is only one listed in the control panel. Has anyone else seen this? I am running Windows 10 Pro.

I am unable to login to the DVLC. I get as far as the enter reg number of a car to check it,s been taxed. Then after I input the reg number the next page tell me it is an insecure page. This also happens on my laptop. On both desktop and laptop I am using firefox with duck duck go as an add on. However. In using my mobile with the stand alone duck duck go browser, I can log in and complete the task. This points to a problem with Firefox. Any advice's. This seems to be recent as I have used the laptop and desktop to use the check for a taxed car system ok in the past.

i recently download firefox for a new computer when i went to search controls i noted that there was no choice for the address bar before i used the bar that had a search engines engine listed in the address bar but no i dont see it did something change at firefox i would still like a choice on watch search bar to use Im paul jensen beadoz@yahoo.co.uk
