I am the webmaster for a church website. As you will see about the collected data on my computer, I work on a Linux computer. Because of the pandemic, the church has been worshipping using livestream video run from the church's website. To aid parishioners with the service, we post pdfs of the Service Bulletin, Readings for the Day, and other aids to participate in the service.

Up until, I think, Firefox 87, in testing the webpage before publishing, I was able to open the pdf links in a new tab. Now, when I try to test the pdf links, Firefox prompts me to save the pdf and I cannot view it online. Given that the pdfs were generated on my computer and exist in my files, It is somewhat ridiculous that I'm being prompted to save the pages.

However, because I also have a Windows machine, I know that this is not happening on all of Firefox, just on the Linux version,

How can I alert Firefox to get this fixed. When I'm not acting as a webmaster, I have occasion to click on a pdf link and it is annoying that it will not display in the browser and and opens up a "save" box.

Although Youtube Playlist Autoplay is enabled (according to debug data), since FF 88 (or 87) OR Youtube Continuous Play plugin this feature is broken. Playlist always stops after loading next song. Changing the Player View or Youtube settings, starts the song. Weird! FF bug?

Any idea's?

Part of this page is blank/broken in Firefox (am updated to most current version) and I tried in safe mode, same issue. Works fine in Chrome... Wish I could upload pictures, but size is too big and I cannot for the life of me make the screen shots smaller without losing the useful info.

Hi, lately I have been trying to tackle my secondary HDD being spun up for no reason in the background and one thing that keeps popping up is Firefox.exe accessing a bunch of fonts contained in the Solidworks installation on the HDD (which is a secondary drive, while Firefox is installed on the primary SSD).

I really cannot understand why it happens, since I think nobody is supposed to install Solidworks along with Firefox. Of course I don't want this activity to wake up my drive, but also, is it normal? I have to admit I'm kinda worried.

I have a staging site for my website which is protected (not visible to the public) and requires authentication with the username and password to be accessed.

Firefox is blocking access with the authorisation window coming up empty again and again and again when I enter the credentials.

So - I have to use a different browser just to access this one site.

I have cleared the cookies and cache, removed the site from the browsing history - Firefox is still blocking the access.

how can I unblock it?

I use Windows 64 bits on my PC.

I am trying to update the primary email associated with my Firefox account. My primary email is listed as <primary@domain.name>, for example. My secondary email is not assigned. When I try to add <preferred.email@domain.name> to my secondary email, I get the message: "Secondary email must be different than your account email"

I do not see this "account email" listed anywhere. Where do I find it, and how can I change it?

Occasionally, across all websites (as far as I can tell), the screenshot toolbar item is greyed out for me and I can't click on it. Meaning I can't take screenshots. I use windows and so snip and sketch is an alternative I can and do use but I prefer using Firefox's own screenshotting tool. What to do??

Hi. I'm experiencing issue when FF pops up new window (I need it this way), it pops up right behind taskbar, which I have on top of the screen (used to it since Amiga), so that I can't reach top of the popup to slide it or minimize etc. and have to stretch it a bit to get it bellow the taskbar. Annoying. I thought it is a Windows issue, but Chrome works well, no hiding popups, just alligning them bellow the taskbar. I don't wanna use Chrome, so please, let me know about workaround. I really hope there's a way to sort the tabs/windows listed in the Windows drop-down menu. It would be pretty cumbersome, time-wasting, and absurd that Firefox, in 2021, makes us look up & down for a certain tab, due to their being shown in completely random order. Is there a way to put them in either alphabetical or chronological order?

Hello, I'm trying to use the Multi-Account containers extension to enable me to login to my personal and work gmail accounts in separate containers. I'm clearly doing something very stupid as I just can't get it to work for me.

I have set up two distinct containers, one for each account and tried to log in to each and told the extension to always open each account in their respective containers. Firefox seems unable to remember these choices for the two accounts, however, and tries to open both in the same container, or at least questions the choice I have previously asked it to remember.

Can someone please explain what I'm doing wrong here, and how to make my choices 'stick'?

I'm using firefox 88.0.1, Windows 10. I also use "Adblock plus" and "YouTube enhancer". When I watch a YouTube video, it almost always forces the highest resolution. I don't mean "default", I mean "force". When I change the resolution to 480p (or anything else) it immediately reverts to the highest setting. Then it buffers (preloads) the video, using much more bandwidth than just the "per minute" toll for 1080p, because it is using bandwidth for the preloading as well. Is anyone else experiencing this (I think it started just this month, May 2021, or not long before that)?

The Firefox process seems to freeze after "mouse button up" from "Save Image As". Sometimes the context menu stays frozen on the screen, sometimes it does not. There is no ability to switch tabs or cancel the context menu. The image itself never saves to disk. I have reformatted and installed Firefox several times fresh out of the box and it still has this behavior. Running Firefox from the console and having Firefox freeze gives no indication or error or message about what is going on. I would say this happens 1 out of 20 images saved. I can easily reproduce this behavior, even though it is inconsistent.

Hello. I had discovered that Firefox itself creates a so called "fork bomb" by creating a big amount of sub-processes under the main one (with I can prove thru the attached screenshoots).

Could anyone have a idea how to limit Firefox from opening so many sub-processess, with (wanting or not) are mostly causing that my system runs out of memory and stop beeing responsible to any of my inputs, with forces me to restart the system (similar thing is done by an DOS attack)

I download Endnote .ris reference files every day, and have done for decades. Endnote supplies a parsing tool that imports the data into the database. But it has just stopped working. In the import dialog box, the message that comes up on downloading a ris file is: "what should Firefox do with this file?

  Open with Notebook (default)"

Well down the dropdown option list I can choose to open with Endnote, so I clicked on "Do this automatically for files .." then chose the Endnote option. Which works, but it doesn't stick. If I go to the Options page>Applications>ris, nothing comes up. If I choose >Endnote, the suggested option is to open every Text file with Endnote - not a good idea.

Has something gone wrong with Firefox or with Endnote settings? Thank you

I was about to add a couple extensions, a translator, dictionary, etc, yet was taken aback at giving any of them permission to "access all my data for all websites"! This means they can scoop up all my passwords, & personal information, and do whatever they please with them. We're just supposed to trust them, and all their employees, to be good, and resist the temptation to profit from this trove of information?

So out of a sudden my cursor is like really small in firefox https://i.imgur.com/hHls0Hf.png thats the google page with the cursor in firefox https://i.imgur.com/RuFlp8W.png thats the same but in edge

I already tried safe mode and a fresh reinstall of firefox

yet the problem is there there, and makes Firefox not really good to use, since you just lose the cursor on white sites

Anyone knows how to fix this?

How can I put bookmarks in the toolbar at the top where it used to be? When I bookmark to the toolbar I can omly find them by clicking Bookmarks and clicking on toolbar in the drop down.

On some websites (e.g. the Guardian newspaper) Firefox displays graphics overlaying the text, making the page unreadable. Same page works fine in Chrome. Thoughts?
