Hello All, I am having issues with my firefox on one of my PC'S going to my office365 online portal for one of my emails. On this PC I am no longer able to authenticate my office 365 account in Firefox. Each time it asks me to login, it tries but then gets stuck going to the and ultimately says

"Microsoft Pick an account "We couldn't sign you in. Please try again."

support virtualbestteam.com support@virtualbestteam.com Signed in

Use another account Terms of use Privacy & cookies ..."

It seems to be the url https://portal.microsoftonline.com/landing when it gets hung up.

I have tried different security settings and clearing cookies, refreshing Firefox, etc. and no success. By on other PC's I can use the way it works on this PC in edge FYI. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance. Chris Ford softwarereality@gmail.com

How do I stop Firefox from out of control data clearing? There is a window under Privacy & Security / History / Clear History that opens a window that allows a user, in theory, to choose which components to clear (cookies, cache, etc.) In that window is a pull down menu to specify the time range to clear. A screen shot of that is attached. I do NOT want my cookies cleared unless I say so. I do not want cookies or some of the other components cleared from the last hour, I don't want them cleared from the last two hours or the last four hours or today. (And the "Everything" reference does not make sense syntactically in this setting.) A screen shot of that menu is attached.

It does not matter if I uncheck one or all of those boxes by cookies, cache, etc. When I open the browser the next time, they are checked again -- AND THE MOFO COOKIES HAVE TO BE MANAGED AGAIN, ETC., ETC., ETC.

What have a setting if Firefox is going to arbitrarily clear everything immediately or once and hour or by some criterion it has not revealed to the user -- nor has informed the user exists?

Anyone have any thoughts on a work-around?

Thanks.

More than four years ago I created a mozzilla account on my work laptop, in hope of easier migration, syncing between devices, and similar promises. I signed into the account, and have been happily using Firefox ever since, with that 1 time login, thanks for that.

Recently I got a new work laptop and I wanted to use syncing, but I unfortunately had to realise that I do not remember the password I gave 4 years ago (since I was never once prompted to provide it again). So I tried to reset my password. Up until this point I was never warned, that one e-mail account provided would not be enough for password resets.

I tried providing a secondary e-mail address, but that doesn't give me a password reset option. I also tried activating 2fa according to the tutorial, with two different apps (authy and google authenticator) but the browser always says invalid key, so I failed activating 2fa. I tried password reset, but it says I will lose all the data, I would like to sync, so that is not a reasonable option... I tried to manually migrate my profile over to the new laptop, by replacing "Profiles" folder contents on the new laptop, but that just makes Firefox unable to start even.

So I am at my wits end, and begging for help. Looked at reddit posts on how to get browse data to new pc and official support faq-s but I do not see a solution.

I am still signed in, on the old work laptop, that is where I'm writing this plea for help from.

I would really love to recover my account and sync it to the new device.

After typing it out I realize how "social engineeringy/hacky" this message sounds. But I'm willing to prove my identity, by any means necessary, and the account mail address is my name (that is also on my national id card).

Please help me, or advise me how to proceed and reset my password without losing all my data.

yours truly Ferenc Patai

I forgot my primary password, and then remembered it (I think correctly). But now when I enter it it isn't accepted. The primary password screen is now appearing everywhere, not just on sites needing passwords, and now I'm getting notification of my firefox account being blocked (although when I entered the password I seemed to get in ok). I'm in the process of moving house (probably the stress caused my password amnesia!), and can't cope with not being able to get stored passwords. I understand all will be deleted if I cancel the primary password. Is there no way round this? I know it's my fault but please can you help? Diane Jones

Hi. For some reason, I can no longer open Gmail through Firefox. I can open it on my phone, but not on my laptop. I can access other websites, just not Gmail. Looking online, it was suggested that I look in the privacy and security settings. But I don't see anything there about unblocking specific sites. Perhaps coincidentally, I recently reloaded a newer version of McAfee onto my laptop, so wonder if there could be some interaction going on with that.

I would appreciate any suggestions you can provide. Thanks!

Please tell me what privacy preference this message refers to, and what I can do to get rid of it. Can I enter "Wired magazine" into some list somewhere of people that send me email who I believe are not sending me poisoned links, or should I simply use Chrome, or Bing, or whatever to read my email? Alternatively, could you please change your message or otherwise tell me what privacy setting I need to change?

Hello. This is a very similar question to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1408631

I have a significant number of Linux workstations (mix of Fedora 37, Redhat 6.10 extended support, Redhat 7) each with Firefox installed. Most of the Firefox versions are 78.5 with a few 60.3, 68.12, 78.4.

I need to distribute a custom root CA cert to the Firefox cert store. I can't find a good answer to how to do this. A pointer to the steps would be really appreciated.

This will need to be automated (puppet, ansible, salt or similar). Do I just copy the cert to some central location on each workstation and that effectively makes it consulted by every user account's Firefox on that machine? Or do I need to copy to a file specific to each user? Or both?

Many thanks

Will.
