Since upgrading to an M1 2021 iMac running Monterey 12.3, clicking on links in Mac Mail opens 2 Firefox windows if Firefox is not open, even though "Open links in tabs instead of new windows" is selected in Firefox.

FIREFOX SAYS: 1. Launch a Firefox browsing session. 2. Click the orange Firefox tab at the top-left corner of the window. 3. Click Options at the left side of the menu, then click the Menu Bar option.

I SAY: There is no orange Firefox tab at the top left corner I see "Options" nowhere on Firefox.

I have Windows 11, if that means anything.

Please tell me how to get to "options" so I can make desired changes.

I have logged on and opened only five tabs. I now have 13 Firefox instances. Firefox has gotten unusable. I've tried everything that Mozilla and others recommend. Don't bother to tell me to uncheck "Use recommended performance settings." Who hasn't don't that already. I also don't need to read that this is normal. I HATE Chrome but will have to switch to it if I cannot improve my very slow functionality. People need real solutions, not the same answer pasted into every complaint about this. Perhaps the answer is that you have no solution.

I even tried to set the autostart option to "false" as some suggest to disable multi-processes. I think that's made it worse.

I have fought this for several years but now, the situation is very much worse. I've been exiting Firefox and getting back in to stop so many processes (sure, sure, instances) but now I see 13 instances with only 5 tabs opened. Within 10 minutes, I have 13 processes running. Call them instances if you like, but they are 13 separate .exe files that are slowing me almost to a stop.

I need help with Canvas and ConferZoom interface with Firefox. I can not open up neither a Scheduled meeting nor a Quick Meeting when using Firefox without getting an "Error" message.

Hey gang! For some reason firefox will not do anything at all unless I run it in windows 8 compatibility mode. I'm on windows 10. If I open the app it won't search anything, show any webpages, etc - but the search bar still works, it'll show me suggested sites and what have you. I can also access the settings page. Aside from that, zilch. I've done a full fresh install and it didn't fix anything. Has anybody had this before? Thanks!

First website opens I put in my user name then click the little green "enter" box and it does nothing. will not move on to password. The second website I put in my user name and password and it replies "Oops! Something went wrong!" I also can't get the sale ads from this website. They don't seem to be able to get into my email box.

I'm really frustrated with this. This is the second time this has happened but I don't know the repair guy did to fix it the first time and at that time it only affected one of the accounts which was my credit union.

I tried taking screen shots but It won't paste into this box and I can't get a shot of accessibility properties which is where I find the errors that I don't know how to fix.

Occasionally all my tabs go away. I always find them, but today,"history>recently closed tabs" is greyed out. NEW I did not even close Firefox Please help steve z

Hello, Just recently the pull down menus on all sites including this page here, do not work. If I click the arrow the menu pops up & immediately disappears. I cannot choose any of the things listed in the menu. I have to try a 1st letter or number to see if that matches any of the items on the menu. Also, every time I use the CTRL button, the screen resizes! Every copy & paste makes the screen get larger, and I have to manually size back down to normal. I have tried the Firefox refresh, and it made no difference. Is there an update I can take off, or a new one that will fix these issues? Thank you Christine

I used to do this (after very antique many years ago Firefox) with the about:config line browser.tabs.closeButtons, setting the numeric value to 0. In 98.0.2, that's not working. It totally discombobulates me to have a close button on each separate tab.

Could someone who's better than I am with these later versions of Firefox please tell me how to regain the functionality I'm familare with, please and thanks!

My wife & I have used Firefox for some considerable time now and like it a lot.

However, we have been having trouble with Firefox recently and wonder if you are aware of this. It manifests itself in a very subtle way with only some FEATURES of a particular website not operating, (but no ‘warning’ messages whatsoever).

To begin with, I was at a loss to understand why something didn’t work but, now that this has happened to me on THREE different websites (with features that work perfectly well under MS Edge!), I have come to the conclusion that Firefox is the only “common denominator”.

The first problem was with https://www.parcel2go.com. They have a “Live Help” (Chat) feature. It no longer works with Firefox!

The second was with https://account.patientaccess.com. Try to order “repeat prescriptions” and all is well – until you hit “send”. It no longer works with Firefox!

Today, I have discovered that with https://www.bt.com I am now longer able to access my BT email accounts. Furthermore, they also have a “chat” facility – except that is now also ‘invisible’ to Firefox!

I have seen mention that DuckDuckGo (which I also use) might be involved here?

What’s happened?!!

I was trying to do a speedtest in FireFox and on speedtest.net, the font is wrong, when I do the download it stutters and lags before it gets to the final result. For example I have 350-400 down usually. speedtest.net for the download test will skyrocket and stutter to 330+, then stutter and skyrocket down to 120+ then to 200+ and then it will just end.

Other speedtest sites such as Speakeasy.net and Fast.com are hit or miss if they will show an upload speed. Sometimes they show the upload 0, sometimes it works like it seems its supposed to.

In Chrome and on my phone the tests all work just fine. Firefox seems to be having issues and I was curious if anyone else is experiencing these things or could shed some light. I have had problems with Speedtest.net on Firefox in the past but back then it was straight up crashes, not what is happening now.

I am on the latest Firefox version and I am unsure as to how long this problem may have been occurring because I haven't tried doing a speed test in quite some time.

This glitch randomly started happening this evening, and I'm not sure what's causing it?

What basically would happen is I would click the PIP button, and once I do that, fonts disappear (either certain letters would disappear, or they'd all turn into this weird blocky one), the toolbar flickers and changes color, and buttons also flicker. These graphical errors are confined to the window the video the PIP was playing, and stop once the window is closed.

I haven't seen graphical errors anywhere else on my system, so I don't think that's the problem. I haven't installed any new extensions in a while. So... yeah, a bit confused.

task manager has 9 operations running, trying to eliminate possiblities before last alternative turn to microsoftopoly, set to firefox recommendations everytime i need the speed or 100% of wide band frequency something is running in background, hard drive wont shutdown. I used to be able to gain some by restart. Doesn't seem to have same effect as used to, then I wud have to disconnect internet just to shutdown or it wud take a very long time, so that was my go to; disconnect internet, I feel that i shud not have to go to such extremes to use MY computer, now even that doesn't solve problem for very long, way back when , hard drive wud shut down after i stopped type idle minute or so, now i'm not sure it ever stops unless i disconnect internet then it will, this tells me something in background is running , wont shut off, when i start typing, so i just want to eliminate microjunk telling me its firefox' operation and i shud uninstall it and use EDGE. wud a VPN possibly eliminate if a program was using internet to communicate to whoever? if possible, does firefox have like 30 day trial period for access to VPN? Wud that even stop activity it's a microsoft product running? sending screenshots of task managers operations running at this point 3 sceens open, SmartNews; *Settings; Get Support / Mozilla Support...acting up just now, moment i stop clicking for few seconds, response is delayed couple seconds, I use onscreen keyboard to converse, clicking single letter at a time, also use HDMI into large screen monitor, thanx for all firefox' help you do make a difference . i greatly appreciate speed and knowledge you & firefox has done for accessibility to internet . taking to long to upload second page , i will cancel second pg, and other nine. i'm unable to stop or cancel upload image, started upload at 12:25pm , i do NOT want to reclick this whole message again, this is part of frustration i feel when tech ppl get something wrong, since i have no education in writing code, i'm basically helpless, how long to wait now.. .... .......... .....................try to send/submit, hope that works.

I have some serious doubts about Firefox that said here are three issue that are creating these doubts. 1 I have continued to see Japanese character in the DuckDuckGo Search Text Box. I gave up and and have now tried to use Google as the search engine seems to fix the issue. Very SAD Fix Not sure who is responsible Firefox or DuckDuckGo

2 When I open Firefox I would like the cursor to be placed in the Search Text Box.

   I see a lot of answers none of which work This makes the support help for Firefox close to   useless Sorry I am kind of tired of out of date answers

3 I find the pocket less than useful and would like to hide it. Once again out of date answers.

So If I can get an answer to number 2 and 3 I might continue to use Firefox but as of now I am spending too much time looking for answers to what should be easy fixes To BE CLEAR I am NOT talking abut the Search Bar at the top of the Page.

Firefox 98.0.2 will not load the digital version of The Chicago Tribune. Works fine using Chrome.

I am trying to connect to Iomega hmnhd-TIC2R3 -Home Page https://192.168.1.201/index.html with Windows 7 machine. My Linux Mint Desktop is now connected. My Gentoo laptop is now connected. My Windows 7 machine has connected before but now Error code: SSL_ERROR_UNSUPPORTED_VERSION.
