Opening PDFs automatically with Firefox and, without any changes I might make, saving them with the download function in Firefox, actually ruins the functionality and data entry function of that file. Specifically this happens with PDF files downloaded from the (not all that amusing) PDFs from the FINCEN, (US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network). I do not see why and how Firefox thinks it is allowed to change files that are simply downloaded and saved on Firefox.

In other words, it seems that Firefox strips away certain "permissions" and/or "functions" (like built-in lookup, menu or choice boxes). This means that the file so downloaded via Firefox can no longer be used to properly fill in data, or to look up and choose data items within the file. (I see many times that ANYTHING having to do with "permissions" tends to be an intractable and unsolvable problem for software makers & experts, so, if you do not know right away how to solve the problem, it will probably take you several years to figure this out.)

The PDF in question is created by a government agency. If you have ever dealt with a government agency, then you know that they act sort of like Adobe or Microsoft: "They don't respond, or they do respond & say they do not understand, and if they understand, they are either unwilling or unable to fix the problem."

If there is a switch or option within Firefox, which lets me tell Firefox "Save this file exactly like it is received, nothing added or removed!", that would be nice. I just have not found such an option yet, and it would be nice if it might get provided someday.

I will share my browser data, but I am sort of convinced that a detailed question like mine will not be addressed within that shared data.

I am getting messages that I am blocking ads for many of my internet requests. I had never received these before but all of a sudden I started to get them. I have tried a number of things but nothing works.

I am running Windows 11 and do not have any Ad blockers.

After update tahoe 26.1 update on mac firefox keeps stalling are they fixing this before i switch? I have a lot of tabs and things here but if you keep freezing I am going to switch. Are they fixing this? I already did all the things you suggest online. It freezes, and I can't keep this up?

How do I disable the link association function of the new tab page? Sometimes,when searching a certain link ,after I finish typing and I press the Enter key,it will redirect the link but not the search link. I need search,search,search the link,not redirect!!! I try so many way but it never work!!!

For a few weeks now, I've noticed that Firefox will not open properly and gets hung with a rotating circle. I have tried all of the conventional fixes including installing a new version but it doesn't seem to work. In the meantime, I will use Safari and occasionally, up to an hour later, it will open and operate normally...until I restart my Mac at which point the whole process starts all over again. But usually, I just get the finder message "Firefox not responding"

Je suis administrateur d'un Google Workspace, et depuis la dernière mise à jour de Firefox, lorsque j'essaye de me connecter à la page des paramètres avancés d'un groupe Google, Google me renvoie Erreur 403. Avant la mise à jour, cela fonctionnait parfaitement. Si je passe par un autre navigateur, par exemple Edge, je n'ai pas de message d'erreur et j'arrive à me connecter.

J'ai bien la dernière version à jour de Firefox (146.0.1)

My home desktop computer is asking for a network login to access the internet today, after FireFox crashed. I do not see anywhere to login. Please help. I have a Mini Mac. I am at a library as my internet is not working.

In regular conditions the Restore Previous Session works as intended. But if I open a private tab and then close my regular tabs (so only private tab is left open) firefox won't restore the closed tabs the next time I open it. It never happened with other browsers that I used in the past. Is there any way to fix this by tweaking config or smth? I think this might be caused by the fact that you can reopen closed tabs in private session with ctrl + shift + t, but I don't know the setting name to test it.

I'm using Fedora 43 and Xfce4 on my desktop, with four workspaces active. Thunderbird is on one and Firefox on another. What's supposed to happen is that my desktop should change to the one with Firefox and the link should open up on a new tab. What actually happens is that Firefox moves to the workspace Thunderbird's on, covering it up and the link opens on a new tab. I'm presuming that there's some sort of setting issue, but have no idea how to find it

Environment:

  Windows 11 Pro, Version 25H2, Updated windows (include KB5074109) on Jan 16, 2026.
  Firefox version 107.0  

Issue:

  Firefox freeze shortly (e.g. after play YouTube video for less than a couple minutes, just browser YouTube videos for a while, or just open about:preferences page).
  
  I installed  Firefox 147.0.1. Same issue. 

  Hover cursor to Firefox, it becomes busy (blue spinner)

  Note: Firefox works fine before the windows update. Chrome exits suddenly after the update too.

Task Manager: shows 15 FireFox processors with 0% CPU usage.

I want the whole screen when I press F11. But the address bar and tabs bar are no longer hidden. How can I hide them, or better make F11 hide them as it did before.

I can't get my original profile 1 to show the original background color. This suggests I don't really have my original profile, I do prefer a white background rather than the iky red/maroon color.

Is there a way to remove specific stories from appearing? I'm Canadian and do not wish to see what the US President has done in these stories. Google News has a hide feature for specific keywords. Does Mozilla?

The browser is very slow when opening a new tab... When I've opened Youtube it says that the Page is slowing down the browser and it takes a very long time to respond... I'm using MacOs Monterey 12.7.6 and I believe my Firefox is up to date
