Opening PDFs automatically with Firefox and, without any changes I might make, saving them with the download function in Firefox, actually ruins the functionality and data entry function of that file. Specifically this happens with PDF files downloaded from the (not all that amusing) PDFs from the FINCEN, (US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network). I do not see why and how Firefox thinks it is allowed to change files that are simply downloaded and saved on Firefox.

In other words, it seems that Firefox strips away certain "permissions" and/or "functions" (like built-in lookup, menu or choice boxes). This means that the file so downloaded via Firefox can no longer be used to properly fill in data, or to look up and choose data items within the file. (I see many times that ANYTHING having to do with "permissions" tends to be an intractable and unsolvable problem for software makers & experts, so, if you do not know right away how to solve the problem, it will probably take you several years to figure this out.)

The PDF in question is created by a government agency. If you have ever dealt with a government agency, then you know that they act sort of like Adobe or Microsoft: "They don't respond, or they do respond & say they do not understand, and if they understand, they are either unwilling or unable to fix the problem."

If there is a switch or option within Firefox, which lets me tell Firefox "Save this file exactly like it is received, nothing added or removed!", that would be nice. I just have not found such an option yet, and it would be nice if it might get provided someday.

I will share my browser data, but I am sort of convinced that a detailed question like mine will not be addressed within that shared data.

Hello I seem to have lost the ability to choose whether my bookmarks toolbar displays icons and text or icons only. At present I have icons plus 4 letters of text fading out. I want to return to icons only. How do I do this? Regards

What have you done to the Settings feature? It's a mess with those weird little icons on the side. I am just trying to figure out why my tabs keep closing on me. I can have about six tabs open with intention of going back to them, and then..poof.. they disappear. I went into Settings to see what I might have changed but I can't figure this out.

Since my last 'Firefox' update, I am unable to connect (get logged in) with my bank online. It says...'routing...', but never connects. If I use Chrome or Edge to log in it works perfectly. Firefox is my preferred browser but that may have to change. I have Windows 11 as my OS. Yes, this has happened before when Firefox updates, but eventually it gets corrected, then, when a new update hits, the problem is back. Mozilla...please fix this, it happens with almost every update!

I'm using Firefox 153.0 on Fedora 44 with GNOME 50. Everything is up to date at this date. I know that Firefox is supposed to support fractional scaling on Wayland since version 146.0. However, it does not work on my device.

As you can see, the first screenshot is when Firefox is in fullscreen mode. Fractional scaling seems to work and the text and picture are very sharp. However, when I resize the window, it looks like Firefox does not support fractional scaling (see my second attached screenshot). The text is blurry and not as sharp as when the window is in fullscreen mode.

When I login to Google, I'm usually asked to do more than 1 catcha. Sometimes, they continue until I can't do any more and use Google Chrome. I have poor eyesight, and this is getting very annoying.

On some sites the popup to change cookie settings is not opening properly I have tried disabling all extensions or browser guards like malwarebytes but stiil not working. Everything works using a different browser.

when i first logged into my firefox account from my new pc it worked but it didnt have any data like cookies bookmarks passwords i thought i might have logged into a account i dont use but when logged into a alt email i have those didnt have any data either so i deleted the alt account i accidentally opened i logged back into my normal account and shut down my computer since i wanted to leave it for another day

i remembered that i had my firefox account opened on my laptop so i decided to give it another shot turns out i was right the first time with the first email it just didnt sync well when i opened my new computer i saw that i was logged out of my account i tried to sign back in but it kept popping up with the same error every time "unexpected error" since then ive tried countless ways to log back in but it just doesnt seem to work any help would be appreciated

When I try to watch videos on YouTube using Firefox the sounds never comes out, only the video runs, I tried changing so many setting but it is not working, and the issue is only with the videos from Firefox.

Using version 152.0.1 on windows 11. Have added an extra 'search' box as described in 'Add the Search bar to your Firefox toolbar ". Is it possible to have a default search engine i.e. Google (and the option to choose other engines) on the big search / address bar, but have a DIFFERENT and ONLY option to search with one i.e Wikipedia engine on the smaller search box? i.e. one general search/ address box, and one if you know you want to search with a different default search engine. Tried everything google AI suggested and nothing worked; it said both boxes are 'linked'. Thanks.

I'm fed up with firefox. It seems almost every update deletes old passwords or creates new profile (which effectively deletes the passwords!)

I've tried looking at about.profiles which seems pointless - the active profile does not have my passwords and the inactive profile does not have them either.

If you can't secure passwords what's the point of your browser??

I'm moving to another browser which can guarantee the security of my passwords.

Meanwhile, I must visit every site I use to reset my passwords - what a chore!!!

Everyday Shopify asks me to verify my account but when I try to do so using my passkey it fails with the following error message: “We’ve encountered an error accessing your passkey. Try again or use a different method.”

When I hit the “Verify” button I can see a POST request being made to https://accounts.shopify.com/user-verification/passkey?native_app=false&os_name=other&token=XXXXXXXXXX and it gets a 200 response with the following JSON:

The passkey popup from Bitwarden never opens.

I then use 2FA with my authenticator app and am able to login.

I’m using Firefox 153.0.1 and the Bitwarden extension 2026.7.0.

This used to work fine for me some time ago and I can still use passkeys using Chrome + Bitwarden on the same computer.

I've contacted Bitwarden's support and they tell me the problem resides either with Firefox or with Shopify. I've also posted this issue in Shopify's community forums and people tell me it looks like it's Firefox who's cancelling Shopify's POST request given the "user_submission_canceled_passkey" error code.

In Windows 10, FIREFOX is preventing the proper operation of the Windows 10 feature called MOUSE KEYS when FIREFOX is operating. MOUSE KEYS is a very important capability to individuals with certain disabilities.

MOUSE KEYS enables the use of the numbered keys on the NUMERIC KEYPAD to be used to move the cursor around when the NUM LOCK key is turned ON, as a substitute for using a mouse. Does Mozilla have a way to prevent FIREFOX from defeating this MOUSE KEYS feature?

Google AI indicated that there is a solution specifically for FIREFOX. That capability is built into FIREFOX and begins by using "about:config" to reset a parameter named "permissions.default.shortcuts" from either "0" or "1" to "2". I successfully implemented the steps in this solution by changing that value from its default value of "0" in my computer system, to "2", but no change resulted. MOUSE KEYS continued to malfunction in the same way.

After exhaustive testing looking for a pattern, I finally found one. The malfunction appears to be the following: With the MOUSE KEYS feature activated in the WINDOWS 10 set up, and with NUM LOCK turned ON to assure that this function is ON, each of the numeric keys, 0 through 9 on the keypad, cycles through the different MOUSE KEYS functions of all ten of these keys, in ascending order by their number. For example, if you press key 7 for ten times in a row, it will cycle through each of the ten MOUSE KEYS functions associated with the keys 0-9 to occur, returning on the tenth press to the function that was executed the first time that key 7 was pressed, and so one endlessly through multiple cycles. And similarly for each of the other ten numbered keys.

A similar type of malfunction of MOUSE KEYS occurs with any BROWSER program that I have tried, including GOOGLE CHROME and BRAVE. I gather from GOOGLE AI that browser programs INTERCEPT the codes generated by the numeric keys on the numeric key pad and change those codes before sending the codes to the WINDOWS 10 operating system, and thus to MOUSE KEYS, for execution, causing this problem.

Is there a solution for FIREFOX what will restore the proper function of the MOUSE KEYS feature of Windows 10, when FIREFOX is being used? Thank you for any help that you can provide.
