Hello dear community,

I have a program that continuously monitors the download folder under Windows 11 for a specific file and retrieves it. I download this file in Firefox, but the said program gives an error.

I have noticed that when files are downloaded in FireFox, they already appear in the Downloads folder with the corresponding file extension with 0 bytes and these are then apparently swapped or merged with the .parts file.

The problem is that the mentioned program now tries to retrieve the unfinished file, which then leads to an error.

Does anyone know if it is possible to customize Firefox so that the file only appears in the download folder when the download is fully complete?

I was able to open reddit.com without any problems earlier, but recentrly I'm not able to load it up anymore. The loading screen is eternal and it doesnt show any kind of error (unless it tries to connect for too long like a couple of minutes, then the error does shows up). The site still sends me notificarions through the browser though. Any other site loads up without a problem. I tried to use methods mentioned in the help article (turned off proxy, turned on network.dns.disableIPv6, deleted cookies and cache). In other browsers (Edge, for example) reddit.com loads just fine. Please help me if you can.

When photos, videos, or websites are linked on a FB comment, it used to display a thumbnail preview below the comment. Now it just shows the link. On mobile, the preview appears. So I'm thinking a setting got changed on the desktop version.

Does anyone know what the issue is and how to correct?

For some time now, I've been experiencing the following issues with PiP:

• The floating window opens in a random (and annoying) place and does not place itself automatically on the lower right corner as it used to (where I always move it, so it has no memory as it used to)
• It's impossible to keep the "always on top" mode on by default, and I have to do it every single time
• When I toggle windows, the PiP window is always the next one, even when it was not the one I switched from, and I have to always toggle twice for switching between two windows when I have a 3rd PiP window
• When I change language using the keyboard shortcut, it changes the language on the PiP window, and I have to use the language icon bar. Then, the PiP window becomes activated, and I have to toggle back to the window I was working on before (on which I wanted to change language). I have the "separate languages for separate windows" option activated.

It's been some months now, and all those things were working before an update but never came back...

Does anyone know if there's a way of fixing these issues? I've tried things I found online but nothing seems to work.

On my iMac 2017, up-to-date OS, Firefox won't load YouTube. It only shows the spaces for videos. Attached is a screen shot with the console info, but I don't know what it's telling me. However, on my MacBook YouTube works fine, so maybe I have a setting wrong on the iMac? Meanwhile, I just switch to Safari. Thanks for any help

Do Firefox menus appear differently in Windows 10 than they do in Windows 7?

In Windows 7, I see the normal system menus - square corners, light blue menu item highlights, 3D column line on the left, dark drop shadow below and to the right of the menu.

In Windows 10 I notice differences - gray-highlighted menu items, rounded corners, no drop shadow, etc.

I'm not using any code to style the menus.

Any idea why the menu code I'm using below to reduce padding in menu items is only affecting Firefox in Windows 10, but not in Windows 7?

It's a very strange anomaly. This is true for both FF 125 and FF 115 ESR.

Hey folks, I've been noticing something peculiar with Firefox that's been bothering me lately. Whenever I try to watch videos on YouTube in resolutions above 1080p, they tend to randomly buffer. It's quite frustrating, especially when I know my internet connection is stable and other browsers don't seem to have this issue. Has anyone else experienced this problem with Firefox? And if so, do you have any tips or solutions to share? Thanks in advance for any insights!

Needed to look through my April history (pages looked at) in the Library. I had APRIL history up, ready to look through it. I tried to delete one page and it DELETED the whole MONTH. How do i get the APRIL history back? APRIL is gone from the list. jumps to March after the last 7 days

I went to RESTORE but this talks about BOOKMARKS It shows for today may 7, 149 items for example then it shows April 29, april 9, april 4 april 1, each with about 150 items but if I were to click on these it says will replace all BOOKMARKS,

So this problem keeps happening to me - I click "upload" on a website and nothing happens. For example, trying to upload photos to my website or upload files to a platform. Frustrating. To work around it I've been using a separate tab of Google chrome but it's such a pain to keep swapping back and forth. Please help!!

Thru Firefox, I use Tineye to find related photos - I use it all the time, it's been great - I always use a VPN and have never had problems until now (as of yesterday). Now it won't search, a verify you're human window comes up, and I have to keep clicking squares, which I do - but then it says to allow cookies and start over. Well I don't want to allow cookies (I assume it's one of the options I have thru Firefox to block cookies), and I can't find where to allow cookies even if I did (I went to Firefox preferences etc) and I don't want to disable my VPN. Maybe I should mention that I just added or started a Mozilla account, as I have had immense trouble with my aol emails, and am trying to move everything over to a gmail account. My sign in to Firefox was the aol email, and I had to (try, I thought I did it) add another account, which I think I did successfully. So it was right after that, that all this started. Help please! Hi, first the last update tried a few times over some days to install. Never got confirmation that it has been installed successfully. When I go to "About Firefox" I'm getting the information that I'm using the latest version.

Now I have problems, mainly when using facebook (especially when I try to play games through facebook) that Firefox uses enormous amounts of CPU and Memory. This does not happen all the time but at least in 70% of tries. I attached 2 screenshots

If this happens I'm not able to close Firefox the normal way but have to kill the process in the task manager.

Any quick help would be appreciated. I would also like to know if I'm the only one experiencing this or if it's a common problem.

When I'm sending attachments in Thunderbird some of my clients are recieving the email but not the attachments, though when they look on the phone they can see the attachment ?

What can I change in my outsettings for attachments to solve this issue

I was looking for an item that would be a couple of years back in my history, only to discover that my history now only goes back a year and 3 months… Exactly, as of today, I don't know if that's meaningful. Does anyone have any idea what might've happened, and how I can restore the rest of my history? Thank you!

I'm on a Mac using Mojave, with Firefox version 115.8.

I'm having trouble using my bank's website. Sometimes I can't log on (error messages) or I can log on and can't use certain features. The bank is Regions. The site works with other browsers. Is there some setting on the latest Firefox that needs to be adjusted? The articles I've read don't help. Thanks.

I've been using Firefox for about six months. I'm a MacBook user with the most recent version of Sonoma installed. After a month or so of using Firefox it starts crashing and freezing. Sometimes I can't restart it for several minutes. Whenever this happens, I refresh it. I've refreshed it about twice. I've re-installed it twice too, but it keeps happening. Most settings are default, but I wanted to include the settings in case this could be the problem: - I've turned off Firefox home content - I've turned off all passwords and autofill features - Never Remember History - Do Not Track and Tell Websites not to share/sell my data are turned on - I left the standard-level security settings as is

I have one extension installed.

The only other browser I have installed is Safari and I am not having these issues. I should add that I don't receive any error messages when this happens, it just freezes. The most recent issue is that I was clicking on buttons on a website and it wasn't working, but when I started using the Safari browser (which also set to private mode) it worked fine.

When it works I love Firefox and would like to keep using it. I am wondering if there is anything I can do to fix this.

I made a private homepage years ago made up entirely of links to web-based AND local folders and files that are grouped into columns of categories like banking, medical, insurance, budget, etc. I keep it off-line on my desktop. I wrote the code so I could place an external link to a bank for example, next to a local link to the folder on my computer where I download statement pdfs from that bank and other bank files. The web page links displays: MY BANK Chkng/Debit Statements Credit Card Statements Bank Information The top link goes to the bank web page on line while the three lower links open folders on my computer where I save pdfs, txt, images, etc from the bank. Firefox opens the folders as "Index of file:///C:(folder path).

My personal home page is laid out with groupings like this for all sorts of information and associated web links: broker, vendor invoices, medical test, taxes, social security, health insurance, subscriptions etc. Today we get .pdf files with all sorts of information and no help organizing it for easy access. The Firefox browser has become the perfect tool for me. But I learned HTML coding years ago! Not so easy to do for others.

Today, many entities have on-line access that provides downloads like invoices, test results, payments, subscriptions, and much more that replace paper. Creating folders to hold these documents with their own local links on your web/local homepage makes sense to me.

While you can use "File" on Firefox to open a local folder or individual file, you cannot save it as a link. However, you can copy the path and transfer that to an a href=" line of link code in your homepage and build on that method. It's amazing how many types of files can be displayed in a browser that are locally stored. Even a link to a spreadsheet file will open that spreadsheets application. Having a varied list of links with quick access is worth the code-writing time. I wish there was an app to help anyone make their own custom folders and links to the contents in a "my homepage.html" . Is there a product idea in there for you folks?
