This first happened a few days ago and I successfully recovered my book marks from backup. It has now happened twice more. I can't be sure, but it seems possible that this happened each time after installing recent updates. Note that my recent history has also vanished.

firefox on windows 11, keeps blocking my camera and Microphone despite express permissions to allow, i look in permissions and the site is clearly marked to allow camera, but when i goto sitye, no camera or mic is allowed until i delete the permission that is supposed to allow it.

I allow my camera and mic.

I return to the site and it tells me camera and microphone blocked.

I goto0 settings>Permissions>Camera

It clearly states that the website is allowed to use the devices, but when on the website the devbices are blocked. Whats messed up is, if i delete your settings>Permissions>Camera, it allows me to use my camera and mic, until i refresh the webpage and its blocked again.

This makes zero sense and is every reason for me not to use Mozille Firefox as a browser at all.

after the new version of firefox update my home page which i have always had Newsmax.com does not load says problem loading page i have tried several times and it will not load. it works in Google chrome so why not in Firefox

Not 100% sure if the topic is the right one, but here we go - I use a Macbook with Firefox 153.0.3, UK Keyboard (QWERTY) It's about the command + ` (the key in the left upper corner below the esc key, I made the ` bold so it's easier to see)

Sometimes, but only sometimes, the keyboard shortcut command + ` to cycle through open windows in Firefox does not work.

For example, I have two windows open (W1 and W2). If I'm in W1 I can use the command and it will cycle to W2. But using the same shortcut, I can't navigate back to W1. But if I use command+ SHIFT+ ` it works. This changes from day to day, sometimes it's command +` and sometimes it's command+ shift+`

This only affects Firefox, in all other programmes, the shortcut works as it should Can't find rhyme or reason- does anyone have an idea?

The popup appears and when cancelled will reappear after some time then repeat.

This popup appears to have a mind of it's own and should only appear "on click" into a password request box.

This is very annoying and whenever it appears the page being used will not function until the popup is cancelled.

Version 154 (64 bit) creates a start menu shortcut in %appdata%/Microsoft/Windows/StartMenu/Programs/ with each and every launch. I have Firefox installed to "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\

Installing a shortcut at launch is undesirable to say the least.

After the most recent Firefox update all my bookmarks were scrambled. For example, when I open one marked Bank of America, I get Go Daddy. How do I restore my bookmarks to what they were before the update?

Title says it all, "auto resize pictures using CTRL - + does not work". Generally speaking, the size of pictures simply WILL NOT reduce in size to view its entirety. Even when the scroll-bars are used the picture is still to wide. I have searched and asked for any setting in about_config, NOTHING! I truly expected something. I have webpage (Home Assistant instance) on my local network on which I would like to use microphone (for Assistant functionality). Page is completely local, i.e. not visible from Internet. My issue is I can't force Firefox to allow microphone access on this page. I've tried messing with media.devices.insecure.enabled config, but it didn't help. Is there any way to add such page to some whitelist to allow microphone access? From what I gathered Chromium-based browser provides "--unsafely-treat-insecure-origin-as-secure=..." option but I didn't find anything similar for Firefox. I know I could expose my server to outside network and get SSL certificate (from Lets Encrypt) to make it work, but exposing server to Internet just to get local microphone access somehow doesn't feel like a more secure solution. I could probably also issue self-singed certificate but dealing with that also seems at least annoying.

For the past few weeks, I have been having problems playing certain Facebook videos. It seems to only happen when I try to play a video that was recorded live. I have tried clearing the cache, I've tried a private window, and I've tried safe mode. I still can't get the video to play. However, when I copy and paste the url to Safari, it works fine. I have been able to play "live" videos while they are actually "live"; it's just that they will not load when I try to play them later. I don't have any problems playing videos which have been uploaded to Facebook; only those which were recorded live. The videos just show a circle in the middle as if they are trying to load but nothing else happens. The length of the video does not matter; it happens with short videos as well as long ones. The screenshot image (of a random "live" video I found) I am uploading shows a partial black circle in the center, which is a spinning circle in realtime. I have circled it in red.

Summary When typing a multi-word search query in Bulgarian into the center search field on the Firefox New Tab page (about:newtab), the first word disappears immediately after pressing the Space key. This is not a huge issue but it is irksome. Why do the all the bookmarks in the toolbar justify left? Also, there are no UI options in the settings to change the justification. Most browsers center all the bookmarks in the toolbars. Surely this wouldn't be too hard to change, would it?

Hi, I'm having this problem on 2 PCs and I'm not sure what in the world is going on. It's not only this browser but I'm trying to get Firefox sorted.

When on sites like Walmart or Costco I'll be scrolling down, click on something, hit 'back'...and then it won't return me to where I left off.

I'm really at wits end. I don't know if I have viruses on both causing aberrant behavior.

If the internet were in it's infancy last century, this would be understandable...or again maybe I have two compromised machines. I'm on the Malwarebytes forum doing all kinds of things to no avail. Defender and Malwarebytes don't find anything.

Thanks if anyone can provide some help. I'm starting to consider a dastardly ipad at this point...
