FF recently updated itself to 100.0.1 and since this time I have been unable to install any addons. Every time I try to install an addon, I receive the message 'Installation aborted because the add-on appears to be corrupt.' I have uploaded a screenshot which demonstrates this behaviour. This is just an example - all addon installations are affected. My existing addons are unaffected, but if I remove one and attempt to reinstall it, the same result occurs.

So I switched from Chrome, and there is one thing that keeps annoying me: the homepage and new window behavior.

In Chrome, you could define your pages that load when first launching the browser, but when you open a new window, it would default back to an empty page. This is the behavor that I want.

In Firefox, I only found the solution with setting the browser.startup.page option to 0, so new windows open with a blank page while you could still edit your homepages. But here, I would have to click the homepage button each time I initially start the browser. This is quite annoying, since it would always be an extra step when launching the browser.

Could anyone help me get the behavior like in Chrome? I want Firefox to open my homepages on startup, but use empty pages when it's already open.

Unable to send a newspaper article to others by email. At the top of the pop up is the statement " Choose an application to open the mailto link." Two choices, neither allows me to send the article to other. Choice 1. Firefox; choice 2. Choose other applications. Previously I had to show my email address and the recipients email address. I'm very frustrated and need help in simple terms and not in the jargon of an IT specialist.

I deleted cookies, and now when I open firefox, it doesn't reload my default email tabs at the top of the screen. I use 3 email accounts. And now when I open firefox, I'm having to log into them every time.

Hi guys. So, I have Avira free antivirus. Can I still install for example Norton web security addon for Firefox? Will there be any problems between my installed antivirus and the Norton addon? Hello. As the title says, Firefox fetches my Windows sounds for its UI. I want to know if there's a way I can disable them for Firefox because they are really loud here and, even if they weren't, I wouldn't want them in the browser.

Issues with Chrome had me switch to editing my sites with Firefox but I need to be able to paste tons of data as plain text. I installed the extension and it shows but does nothing. I don't know why this is not a standard feature as it is in Chrome.

It appears after another update, the apps I have set to open file types have all reverted back to download. I would just change them back, but most of the file types are missing as well so i have to resave them using the cumbersome download and then open all similar steps each time I want to open something until all the file types are saved again. Then an update happens and JPEGS and Excel files are no longer on the list. Why is this happening? Do I have something set wrong or does someone at Firefox think this is a good idea for some reason? Each time I start the Firefox browser the window pops up asking for the master password.

Is there a way to change this so that the master password is only asked for when you go to logon to a website?

I often look at websites without logging in.

Any help or a solution would be appreciated.

Hello, I regularly open pdf files and other documents with local readers/writers by selecting the option "open with". My big issue is that the files are yes opened with the local reader, but they are also automatically downloaded in the "Download" folder.

Before files were stored in a temporary folder, and I would like to continue like that because my "Download" folder is exploding and it's a mess!

Or, at least, there should be an option to select where to download automatically the files when I select the "open with" option. So I can chose a folder that I now is to be trashed.

I strongly dislike the color theme of my browser. The irredescent pink, orange, blue, etc of icons literally nauseates me and I can't get back to my original color theme. I also have a black screen, instead of the white one I prefer and images appear solarized, rather than natural, even in skyping with family.

Weird issue. Trying to screenshot an Amazon page but image does not download. Try copy image and I can paste it into MSPaint.

Screenshot image download works for other Amazon pages and other sites like noaa.gov, and places image in downloads folder as expected. Only Amazon for a specific product: https://www.amazon.com/Phonomenal-Authentic-Vegetarian-Vietnamese-Noodles/dp/B08Z5MK39L

I use Mendeley Web Extension to pull articles and other things from Firefox directly into my Mendeley library. I will usually rapidly read through the PDF file online before deciding to add it or not. For some unknown reason, Firefox blocks the use of Mendeley on PDF file, for security reasons, and I can no longer add them to my library. Most references are only available as PDF files making the add-on completely useless. Is there a security feature that I can disable to be able to use the extension again?

I'm getting older, they should be set as on as Default, and switched to off if required

This is a massive issue to a great part of the community I don't use Firefox as I used to, as so many of my clients are also moving away, ( Gone to different platforms to Edge and Chrome) I'm sure this can be easily fixed.

My use case is the following. I use Firefox Developer Edition for developing websites. Usually the development happens on a certain part of the page. Most of the times it is not on the top of the page, so you have to scroll down to it.

Sometimes when the page is refreshed a jump to the top happens. So then I need to scroll down again. It takes a lot of time and concentration away if it happens dozens of times a day.

It often happens after I did some changes to the files on the page. It usually does not happen when I refresh the page a couple of times (when I purpously want to reproduce this problem).

I did try running Firefox in Safe mode, but it didn't help.

What can be done to fix this problem on my side? Is this a bug in Firefox itself?

OS: Debian 11 Firefox version: 108.0.1 64-bit

All updates must be approved manually by me. It was long time since I last updated my addons, so I don't know for how long this hypothetical hidden addon was on my browser. To be sure, I removed literally all addons that I have installed, yet in its GUI Firefox still displays that there update available. Firefox itself is already updated to the latest version, I checked it.

I write these words from different computer, using brand-new Firefox profile. I also haven't noticed any strange behaviors on my original computer.

Currently the fonts at the top of the page (tab headers, address bar, search bar, booksmarks) are all set to a larger font. I don't know how they got changed but they are too big now. If I try change font size and style in settings nothing happens. It is not how it looked on first install and using another browser has font sizes of a more practical size. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling Firebox and also doing a refresh and it doesn't change anything.

Its almost like a bug that has made Firefox set these fonts larger than they should and not able to modifying them again.

I cannot for the life of me work out how to fix this and its very off putting to the point, short of a full OS reinstall I'll have to start using another browser.

I started up my computer today; I tried to open up a youtube video in picture-in-picture add-on, but it wasn't there. I restarted my computer, completely closed firefox, looked into settings for the picture-in-picture settings that are supposed to be under 'Browsing' in General but I can't find the settings for it there either. I have tried using other video sites, but nothing works.
