Hi,

If a website is dual-stacked, Firefox will first try to connect over IPv6 and fallback to IPv4 if it fails. However, Firefox never tries again to use IPv6 if it as fails once. Sometimes this leads to connection error if the connection is intermittent (so IPv6 will fails at the time of the request, but it’s not specific to IPv6, and Firefox will try over IPv4) and if IPv4 is broken at all (e.g. because IPv6 works so nobody notices it). So when the connection comes back, Firefox will be stuck to IPv4 and the site won’t display even if works with IPv6. Even Ctrl-Shift-R doesn’t clear the connection cache.

I'm the sort of person who deletes his cache and history after EVERY session, running spyware and virus scanners every night.

Halfway through using the browser yesterday when several (not all) pages began appearing as they do in the attached photos. As shown with the two LinkedIn examples, reloading would sometimes get the page itself back up, but images (avatars) and embedded media won't show up.

I hadn't changed any settings before this started happening. I thought it might be an add-on/extension problem, but I have all the same ones in Opera and everything is showing up fine there.

Since the last couple of FF updates, all of a sudden when I'm looking at a video on a page and I scroll down the page, a smaller version of the video pops up and scrolls down the page with me. It didn't do this before. I want to completely disable this feature, since I NEVER want to see a video following me as I am scrolling down the page (though I want it to keep playing so I can hear the audio). I couldn't figure out how to block this in about:config. Please tell me there's a way to do it - preferably without an add-on!

After the last update several days ago, I am not able to download yahoo BASIC (that I prefer) attachments. The newer yahoo works fine, yet I do not like it!. Therefore I use basic more then 30 years. I cleared history, cashe, did a MFF safe restart, and all issues I could find online. If I try downloading my mail attachements with IExplorer - it works nice and easy, yet, not with MFF.

What did the MFF update (automatic) change in the settings?!

I'm in Firefox 76.0.1 64 bit for Ubuntu 18.04. From a script javascript I open a new tab with mywindow= window.open(). Later when user click a button this page should be closed with mywindow.close() but it doesn't work because the mywindow page results already closed (mywindow.closed results true and though if I run mywindow.close() the page remains open. The page is created with window.open() from the script thereby should be legal to close that page. Here is the code: jsfiddle code I observed that later I allow the popup and I run again the code it works with the jsfiddle. Furthermore others users seem don't have my same problem thus I think could be a setting problem. Flipping dom.allow_scripts_to_close_windows in about:config to true don't change the situation. I have the same problem with the same version of Firefox in Window 10. With the browser Google Chrome the code works properly. Here is the early version of my question on stackoverflow: early question

Kindly someone could point me if this could be a bug or a setting problem or other, and anyway how to fix it?

Hi

I would like to know how to remove this from Firefox please.

It began showing up about 10 days ago. I have not installed any new programs, or any new games (I am a gamer) because I have been playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Anytime I click a link in an email, I use gmail, or try to move from a link in one tab to another, it pops up and I have to click trust or allow to get the page to load.

It's just oh so slightly annoying.

Thanks to anyone who can offer any help. I will be eternally grateful and will if you like add you to my great person list.

That, a mask, and some obscene amount of whatever currency you use will get you a latte or whatever it is they serve at Starbucks. Can't speak their language, as I've never been to one.

help PLEASE

Aside from being really pissed off right now for it was a matter of getting a chat window that i can not presently access, would someone be so kind as to tell me how to reverse the damages of clicking on the wrong selection? Where are these selections stored so that i might reverse it?

I used to see a feature in a question/answer editor here at FireFox help that allowed images to be displayed inline instead of only as thumbnails at the end of an answer or as links in the text of an answer. This has happened now on two different machines, with two different accounts that have had no carryover between them.

Every few months, for no reason at all, firefox will just "forget" every login. It will forget all page history. It will remember what add-ons are present and will keep the bookmarks, but everything else? Gone.

It is incredibly frustrating and this current account (my father's) is only a month or two old, having set it up on his new computer.

Yes, it does happen in safe mode, and no, factory resetting Firefox is the exact opposite of what we want to happen.

Imagine the following scenario: 1. I go to a search engine and look for "dogs". 2. From the result page I click on a link to a dog page. 3. I close the browser. 4. I open the browser again later. 5. The tab that is supposed to be the restored dog page is the dog result page of the search engine instead.

It seems like firefox sometimes isn't saving the actually last page but instead some of the previous ones.

I am using Firefox 76.0.1 with addons uMatrix, uBlock, OneTab

Thanks for the help, cheers

I made a fresh, clean install of the most current Firefox 76.0.1. When launching it, it force closes after a few seconds.

There is no Crash Helper popup afterwards.

This issue does not occur with Firefox 74 and previous versions. The issue "does" occur when using the most current Firefox as a PortableApp.

I am running Windows 10 Enterprise (1809), build number 17763.

I'd appreciate any help you can give me, because as it stands, I can't update Firefox.
