I have a locked file that shows up as Invalid Symlinks error. I am not sure but I think it may be Profile.ini Here is what I am getting that tells me its a Non-Existent Destination file. My question is why is it Invalid symlink and what can I do to fix it? Hello, I was trying to fix this issue on my browser but I was not able to do it. The OS is Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS 64-bit. Currently, I'm using Firefox version 99.0a1 but I had the same issue on version 97. Also, I have this issue on only one of my PCs. As I said in the subject: - The browser freezes the whole PC and I have to force reboot it. (I already disabled the hardware acceleration) - the recent download item open button does not trigger the opening of the folder. - If I try to download a file, the browser ask me where to save it. But if I try to download another one the browser shows me the directory with path /run/usr/1000/... I tried to delete places.sqlite but I received the same result. ... I am encountering an issue where I am unable to update from within my browser (Help->About). I have confirmed that the policies.json ("C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\distribution\policies.json") has "DisableAppUpdate": false, to ensure I am not blocking myself. As of now if I try to update it gives me a prompt saying: "Updates avaliable at https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new" Is I give myself administrator access then I get normal behavior and the browser begins updating automatically.

The odd thing is if I modify the permissions on C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox directory to allow normal users the ability to write/modify its contents then the Normal User Account is then able to update the browser as desired. The obviously solution is to just modify the permission and allow Normal Users to update. But I am hoping you have a better solution that more precise because I am concerned of the security impact of opening the directory to all users.

Is there a specific file/sub directory I can give them access to that accomplishes the same thing or is there a setting I need to change on the installer that would fix this.

I'm using firefox 97 on mac. Whenever I copy and paste an image from firefox, the image comes out desaturated as if it is using the wrong color profile. I tried changing the gfx.color_management settings without it improving. The images look fine and are the right colors in the browser, however, the issue only happens when I copy and paste images. Firefox behaves like the color management is disabled (set to 0 in config) but ONLY when copying and pasting images.

I do not have this issue with other browsers such as chrome.

the downloads icon in toolbar (the one that says, "Display the progress of ongoing downloads" when hovering cursor over it) keeps randomly opening and showing me the files that have downloaded as if i clicked on it. my cursor is nowhere near the icon, so no accidental clicking on it. and it seems to happen when I'm not touching the keyboard, mouse or trackpad. it just pops open. and there are not current downloads--just a list of files that have already been downloaded. odd...

This just started happening and I'm not sure why.

I access my email via a browser. When i compose an email If I have a .ZIP file that contains a bunch of files. If I want to attach say file # 6 and File # 7 to the email I am composing I would open windows explorer, traverse to the ZIP file location and click on it so it opens in windows Explorer. Then I'd highlight the one or two files I wanted and I'd drag them to the email.

This would typically attach the the files but it no long works - I have a feeling it may be due to windows 98 I hear you guys changed (fixed) how files are processed.

This is awful I now must extract those files to hard disk (of if there's another contained ZIP file within its even more extracting) - I'll this makes so much work and if I forget to delete all the files I execrated I'll run out of space.

Is there I setting that I can set to make it work the way it used to - I don't want to learn another browser but this change has killed my poductivity

I have loved being a Mozilla-stuff user intermittently since teaching on Netscape 1.1, and now am making Firefox 98.02 my default browser. I like both Safari and Firefox, and sometimes use them simultaneously for two accounts on the same service (not right now). My physically pristine 2015 Mac cannot install OS's past the 10.12 I have, so Safari is failing. But I am exasperated at runarounds when trying to set up this Firefox account. I used the emailed verification code and seemed to get in, but got the red-box message "This account... administrator... error." I cannot tell whether the site is letting me use it normally, but I think not. I just spent an hour in help forums. Geesh, tech complexity has mushroomed since my LAN work in the 90s, and you volunteers get to cope with inarticulate queries like mine! Upload is failing of jpg screen shot that has been made anonymous. Help?

I was tracking a package on the UPS website. I decided to sign up for their My Choice program. After I did that I could no longer track packages I just get the error "We are unable to complete your tracking request at this time. Please try again later.". I contacted them, UPS, and they had me try several things and the only one that would work is to use Chrome. Fire Fox will work if I use a private window. Whew do I go to fix this?

I don't like the new printer dialog box Firefox came up with. It is too basic. 9 times out of 10 I have to click over to the System Dialog Box. Is there any way I can permanently switch to System Dialog Box? I am running Windows 11/64

Thought I should bring it to your attention. My default browser is Firefox and I use Earthlink as my email. Earthlink just informed me that Firefox no longer supports Earthlink.
