Update removes extensions
Updates remove the Dashlane password manager extension thus requiring a new extension download and install. How can this be prevented?

Updates depends on if that was a old Plugin that doesn't work with current Browser version. If so it will disable or uninstall it. And what you have to do is go back to Addon site and find the latest updates if they support the current Browser. That your only choice here and if they don't support the latest Browser it will not work.
