i installed updated version of mozilla and after login i lost all the previous data and i also tried it to recover from my last backup but it's not working please help me with that i need my data back

I wanted to make a lengthy post on a website today, but I accidentally hit CTRL + R twice which bypassed the "This page is asking you to confirm that you want to leave — information you’ve entered may not be saved." safety net. Is there a way to deliberately disable any and all refresh shortcuts and buttons when a safety net shows up, so my buttery fingers don't ruin my day to it's absolute maximum?

I want safety nets to be deliberately annoying.

I am using the latest version of Firefox on Linux Mint. I've had some flash on opening issues that I've been unable to permanently prevent. Suddenly my adblock software is not working. I tried uninstalling, reinstalling, different adblocks-no improvement. No extension software is showing on my toolbar and selecting the extensions software just brings up a suggested extensions.

The new selection "Copy without site tracking" may eliminate certain codes, but does not remove all invasive data (my term). Consider this common URL occurrence:

The new filter does absolutely nothing to this and when I pass this kind of URL on to others, I do not want to include all that crapola. Currently I have to manually edit the link, which can really get tiresome when passing on a lot of links.

Is there a way to modify anything in Firefox to accommodate this?

I have run into an annoyance where I am trying to click on a link in my email to open a new page. Clicking on the link makes a bar show up telling me that Firefox has prevented a popup from being opened (see attached image). I am given the option of managing my preferences / Firefox settings, where I can either go through multiple steps to permanently allow all pop-ups from that website until I restore my original settings, or uncheck a box to permanently allow all pop-ups from all sites until I check that box again. This is annoying because I have no interest in either allowing or disallowing all pop-ups from all websites, or all pop-ups from this specific website, every time I want to open a single pop-up from a specific site. I would rather that the warning bar which tells me that Firefox has blocked a pop-up also display a button allowing me to allow ONLY THIS SPECIFIC POP-UP IN THIS SPECIFIC CASE.

Is this a setting that exists in Firefox? Alternatively, is there a version of Firefox which does have a setting which would allow this? Or is this simply not a functionality that exists for this browser?

For Securing my Apache server i have created a CA and from that CA i have created a self-signed certificate. When i add the certificate to the certificate manager and try to access my domain with https i am getting this warning 'Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead'. My certificate has enough validation. How can i get rid of this warning.

Hello, I've got a reproduction issue on France TV live programs which I watch through nordvpn. The picture keeps "jumping" fast up and down in a very bothering way. This doesn't happen when the video is NOT live. I run the latest version of LINUX MINT. What can I do to fix it? The only way I found to stop the issue is to take down the resolution of the live video to its minimum which gives me a disastrous picture but stops the "jumping". I guess you might say there is something wrong with my GPU. The point is that my PC is brand new with an AMD 5600G, new MB, 16Gb of RAM and 500w of PSU. BUT more than anything I have to say that everything WORKS FINE with CHROME. I like FIREFOX I have been using it literally for decades now. (I'm 75). Is there a solution? I am having trouble to open firefox browser for ubuntu 20.04(focal). I have also delete mozilla folder from cache and then reinstalled again. I have tried to rename profileini file. Finally I have uninstall and install using terminal by "sudo apt install firefox" but still I am getting this error "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible".

How to resolve this.

I installed Firefox-ESR on my Raspberry PI and noticed that I cannot play Udemy videos. After some research I found that the Widevine plugin is missing and the OpenH264 Video Codec is also not installed. Following the instructions from similar issues didn't solve the problem. I ticked off and on the "Play DRM-controlled content" button but this only brings the widevine plugin for a moment and after that it disappears. In the network tab I see no activity when click on this button, i.e. Firefox does not send requests.

Additionally the OpenH264 Video Codec is not installed and never installs.

Any ideas how to solve this?

I have a 'site' that is just files on my hard drive.

I need to click an anchor link such as: <a href="file:///dir1/dir2/dir3/dir4">Store Your Files Here</a> and have Firefox open the folder dir4 with the systems file manager. ( In my case the file manager is Nautilus ) ( Ubuntu 20.04 )

I have seen this: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Links_to_local_pages_do_not_work but it does not describe a scenario that uses the file:/// interface.

It also does not provide any information about how the files will be handled.

I can get the folder link to work currently , but it appears with the: 'Index of file///...' in a browser tab.

Obviously you can not use that for anything useful.

The main goal is to open the folder and be able to use the system file manager to include more content for the site without having to navigate to the folder manually. The folders I want to display are buried many levels down without the possibility of having descriptive names. I have ~121 pages/folders in this arrangement , and each one has content for each page. I would like to add a button on each of the 121 pages that will open each of the pages content folder.

There is no "Check for Updates in Settings > Updates, nor is there "Allow Firefox to"

So I cannot change any Update settings. ATM Firefox (now version 116) updates automatically and some tabs (youtube) stop working without any indication why. I would like to disable automatic updates but I can't. (AFAIK)

With a recent update of Firefox Developer Edition to version 117.0b9 i keep getting extremely annoying popups on all sites, asking me if I want to translate stuff.

I don't want to store unnecessary settings in my browser, related to exceptions to websites/languages that I want vs. does not want to translate.

I want to completely disable translations, globally. Forever. Two questions:

- Why there is no "disable translations globally" checkbox in the newly added popup? - Is there an about:config hack to do disable translations globally, for all languages, for all websites, and forever?

Firefox for linux ubuntu is what I'm using on my laptop. I installed browsec VPN and it does not launch. I've used this before linux mint and I did not have any problems.

I updated Firefox on July 1, 2023 and the dark mode stopped working. I used to be able to have all website and pages dark, I've been looking for a solution or work around with no luck. Any forum questions that I've read has all sounded like a "canned" answer with no results. The questions asked were never answered, and it's been very frustrating. I have glaucoma and have great problems looking at a white screen. Even this page is bright white and hard to read and I'm unable to change it to dark. I've been hoping to see an update solving this problem but there hasn't been one. Please send me a real resolution for this problem. Thank you

when I try to click drop down menus on rpg mo, like settings/game options or anything in the gear drop down menu it wont let me click. I can't play rpg mo is there a reason for this like is it not html they are using but it works on windows? I am using suse linux leap.

after porting my SSD Arch installation from my old Laptop to a desktop PC, i have a really long startup time (about 30s-45s) for the first time after booting my PC. This problem doesn't occur with any other programs. The subsequent openings of firefox happen instant.

Have tried using "refresh" functionality to clean up firefox so my about:config is as clean as it gets, didn't help. Have tried starting it with "firefox --no-remote", didn't help. Have tried starting it with "firefox --safe-mode", didn't help. Have tried starting it with a completely fresh profile, didn't help. Tried purging it from the system and reinstalling it, didn't help. Same problem when I start it normally via dmenu/rofi.

I don't get any stdout log on any of these methods of starting.

I also don't know where to look for helpful log files.

Any help or hints on where to trace this fault are much appreciated.

Until recently, this extension had worked well on YouTube, where downloading videos has usually worked for years without an issue.

However over the past month or so, when using the Linux system, it's become impossible to download any video from YouTube, without an error popping up after a couple of seconds.This occurs whatever choice of aspect for a video is available, be it in mp4 or mkv format. I should emphasize that this issue only seems to occur on YouTube. Other unrelated sites that host video-sharing still work with Linux.

In Windows 10, Video DownloadHelper with YouTube still seems to be working as normal. So any ideas why I can no longer use this extension with Linux and YouTube?
