update Mozilla VPN
I see update available in the Mozilla VPN window but when I click on it I have to install a new version of Mozilla VPN. After I do, I still see "update available" so am not sure I have updated at all. I am not going to "update" twice until I know that reinstalling Mozilla VPN is what I am supposed to be doing.

Unfortunately we had a problem regarding this after our last update, we apologise for the inconvenience!
Try logging out of the Mozilla VPN (you can do this by clicking on the gear icon at the top right of the app. Then scroll down to "Logout"), uninstall the app, download the VPN again and follow the steps to install it. Logging off is an important part of the process as it will delete some files that would otherwise not be removed.
If that doesn't fix your problem, please contact us directly via Mozilla VPN, we might need some additional information from you.
