Have Ubuntu 16.04 with gnome. When I try to 'open' pdf files in thunderbird 45.5.1 it opens the save file dialogue and will not open the file. When I had Ubuntu 16.04 regular (not gnome) it opened the pdf files automatically with doc viewer, (the default pdf viewer).
