Good afternoon. Can I disable this default option “Keep messages for this account on this computer”? I installed thunderbird on a terminal server. I configured autoconfig. I want the user to enter only email and password, and mailbox is configured but only email headers are downloaded. I found on github policy-templates, but it doesn't have this option.

I successfully subscribed to an online .ics file but I found the resulting calendar entries inadequate and I want to unsubscribe but I can't figure out how to do that. I've tried searching for instructions but haven't found any.

When I receive an pdf attachment in an email and select print, I get an empty page. This is happen, I think, since the last update.

Hey, I'll try to keep this brief. Microsoft is forcing me to buy a new PC so as to "upgrade" from Windows 10 to Windows 11. My Windows 10 PC has Thunderbird (128.9.1--it says it's up to date) and it works just fine. I've spent over two hours attempting to set up Thunderbird on my new Windows 11 PC and...no dice. I'm at the end of my tether; I can't afford to waste more time on this. So...

--Thunderbird 137.0.1 (fresh download this afternoon--unclear as to the discrepancy vs. Windows 10 ver.) --Email = ATT --The setup program says it knows who ATT is and has the configuration --When I press "Done" for the setup to get everything going, it spins forever, then says, unhelpfully, "Unable to login at server. Probably wrong configuration, username, or password." --Needless to say, I've checked everything 48 ways from Sunday; let's assume that my email is correct --So if it's not my email address, that leaves password or configuration, right? --Password: According to Mr. Google's AI (*ahem*) I shouldn't use my regular password, I should use a "secure mail key"...well, that's okay, my regular password wasn't working anyway --Believe it or not, I've got notes on my original secure mail key so I enter that. Doesn't work. I enter the random character string that the secure mail key is supposed to stand for. Doesn't work. --I generate a fresh secure mail key in case the silly things have a shelf life. The new one doesn't work, nor does its random character string. --I then direct my attention to the configuration. Thunderbird said it knew what to do, but...what if? Inbound looks okay, compared to the settings on my old PC and also as recommended by Mr. Google. --Outbound...uh, oh...

Folks, I've tried every permutation that I can think of for passwords and outgoing servers and, lacking any intelligent guidance as to exactly what the problem is, I have no idea what else to try.

I'd appreciate advice as to what to try next, but am no longer hopeful. I may have to move on to another program in an effort to get something that works. I'm falling behind on my day.

Spoiler alert: Don't tell me to curse at the screen or give it the middle finger...I've already tried those approaches and they don't work.

Every time Thunderbird is launched, a new tab opens with a donation offer. This kind of persistence discourages not only donations, but also the use of Thunderbird. How can I disable this?

When I receive a Meeting Invite over email, I used to have an option of Accept / Reject / Tentative in the email heading itself. The Invitation Bar has disappeared. I have checked that all my calendars are associated with my system email ID. Also, the Config Editor has all correct settings.

How do I bring back the Invitation Bar?

In WORD I can set any piece of text to whatever font type, size (points) and presentation (bold, italic; subscript, etc) I wish.

In Thunderbird none of this works. This is by far the biggest turn-off for using Thunderbird. No donations till that is fixed.

I have had my notification popup customized for a while now. With the recent TB updates, there is some new white(ish) border around the popup box. Can't for the life of me figure out how to eliminate or customize it to my liking. Does anybody have any insight as to which UserChrome CSS elements to apply to this? Thanks.

I'm recovering from a computer disaster and thus have a fresh install of Thunderbird without any of my old emails or message filters. Previously, when creating filter rules for junk emails, I used the option to create an action rule to delete the message from the server. The sequence was "Set Junk Status to: Junk" > "Delete Message From Server" > "Delete Message." This way I didn't have to manage the emails on the server. I want to continue this, but I don't find the Delete Message from Server option any longer. After reading other articles saying IMAP was a prerequisite for this action rule, I tried to set up a second account using IMAP but TBird told me the existing account was already set to IMAP for incoming mail. Confusing. But the bottom line is I need to know how to access this action rule going forward.

I don’t want any spam filters from Thunderbird. “Uncheck Enable adaptive junk mail controls for this account” never worked. https://blog.thunderbird.net/2024/09/thunderbird-and-spam/ The message "Thunderbird thinks this message is Junk mail" still appears. I’ve deleted Bogofilter.sfd, DSPAM.sfd, POPFile.sfd, SpamAssassin.sfd, SpamPal.sfd from Thunderbird.app/Contents/Resources/isp. What else do I need to delete from Thunderbird to get rid of the message "Thunderbird thinks this message is Junk mail"? I’m using Thunderbird 128.9 ESR on macOS 15.4.
