Comcast has sent our accounts to yahoo. Email name remains the same. I wish to continue with Thunderbird. I haven't been able to and don't want to lose all my Thunderbird settings and files. They have been transferred to yahoo mail.

First I have went through and followed all listed steps to remove an account. Second I am not an idiot. Third I am trying to remove the pop up for a password of an email account no longer monitored. I have removed it properly and cleared calendar settings. The is no user for this email account in my profiles It is a gmail account. I am unable to decipher the JSON file.

Al I want to do is remove this from happening.

I've had a POP3 account for years, with no problem. On a second computer I had a second TB installation that used to get its emails from a folder on the main computer. This suited our purposes very well. The second user could access all my e-mails, and her sent messages also appeared on my computer.

Alas I updated TB, and have lost this capability. Ideally I'd go back to it, but the only way forward seems to be to set up an IMAP account. I have tried this, following the instructions on the Mozilla web site. It's all very easy, but I end up with a message: "Thunderbird failed to find the settings for your email server".

I have of course checked that the settings are correct, but I can't get past this point. I have tried disabling my Internet Security (Bitdefender) but to no avail.

What should I do next, please? I'd go back to an earlier version of TB if that would enable my older method of working.

Hello, Thunderbird has already imported my Hotmail account. How do I import my Outlook.com account? It was offered to me the first time, to add another one but for some reason, I could not. Thanks

Thunderbird forces me to use the new amount hub. And I get authentication error when trying to setup outlook.com email

I'm using Thunderbird from a little time anmd I have a problem with "Unified Folders" After installing it, I added my 10 accounts one by one and found out a problem. Simply Thunderbird doesn't want more than 1 "yahoo" account. I can enter even 15 accounts and Thunderbird can manage all the accounts with "Unified Folders" without problems and I see all the accounts. But if I were to add another "yahoo" account, Thunderbird no longer handles it with "Unified Folders". In fact it disappears and I only see it again if I activate "All Folders". I can't understand why. Maybe I need to setup something on yahoo? Can I solve this problem? Thanks PS: I speak italian.

This might sound like a daft question but my excuse is that I didn't set up TB on my PC!

How can I find out from which of my two email providers that I use is feeding my messages to TB as the client? Presumably, incoming and outgoing servers would have to be added at set-up? Is this true for Gmail as well?

Hi, i'm wondering if there is a way to get rid of this "account". If I understand correctly, it is used for outbox (before mails go to the sent folder of the proper account), and also used for default Archive destination. I understand why this would be required for pop3 accounts but i'm using only IMAP or Exchange. I'd rather have my archived mails go to the Archive folder under the proper account too.

I have closed my Rogers account and have opened a Wightman account. Before I closed the Rogers account I downloaded Thunderbird and transferred my e mails and contacts to Thunderbird. To do that I had to put in my Rogers address. Now, when I open Thunderbird or try to send a message from Thunderbird, a pop up asks me to sign in to the old Rogers account. As this account is no longer active I cannot use Thunderbird. I have tried to change the information from Thunderbird E mail but cannot get it to change. My new e mail address is martinwea@wightman.ca Please help me to make Thunderbird work properly! Martin

I have been using T-bird for years successfully until lately. We have multiple email addresses in Comcast and Gmail, but lately our passwords that we have been using and know are correct because they are written on paper and Keypass, are being changed somehow so that they will no longer work. When we look at the saved passwords in Thunderbird we see some have been changed on a certain date that we did not do, and the password listed now must be about 200 characters long. Then when we go to change the password, it may be listed as changed. Then when we try to send a message with that email address, we get an error message saying, for example, smtp.googlemail.com and a wrong username/address completely. I can find no way to correct the username email in any settings in Thunderbird. I have searched the Thunderbird HELP files many times, but am unable to find any of this addressed anywhere. After trying to fix these problems for most of 3 days now, I have get rid of Thunderbird for an email client that works correctly!!!

Clearly, this is a very basic question which has undoubtedly been answered before, but I haven't been able to find it. If Thunderbird had an old-style Help feature with an index, I could probably look it right up. But coming to the forum is the only option the program gives me.

I have created a new gmail address for my wife. Would like to add this address to my existing Thunderbird Mail account so that her emails also come to my Thunderbird email account. Not sure how to add her address to do this.. Thanks

I have been working with a new service provider to move my domain and Email service for the past week. The domain move wasn’t an issue, but migrating Email has been a major pain. The new service technical staff had numerous issues just accessing the Outlook account, so copying the inbox and folders turned into a nightmare. Then I installed Office 365, just to access Outlook, and create PST files, which I provided to the new service tech staff, to synchronize all folders, but most of the PST files didn’t end up in the new server.

So, in Thunderbird I created an account for the Outlook service, and that synchronized everything, and was ecstatic! I then attempted to change the correctly synchronized Outlook account on Thunderbird, to the new IMAP server, but I can’t figure out how to change from the Microsoft Exchange Mail Server, to the new IMAP server. Since the Email Addresses on both servers will be the same, and only change with the DNS update to point to the new server, I am unable to create an IMAP account on Thunderbird, along side the Outlook account.

I am at a loss as to what I can do at this point. Can anyone help?

I just download the latest version of Thunderbird, and try to add my pop mail account. But after i enter the info of outgoing server settings, the Continue button is gray and can't be clicked. once I try the test, it says that Thunderbird failed to find the settings for your email account. Can't find a server. Also i find that there is no place enter the password of my mail account.

I have a new gmail account and I can't figure out how to get Thunderbird to show me messages that come in to that address. I changed some things trying to set up a second account but emails still don't arrive. I am using a desktop computer with the most recently updated Windows 11 and updated Thunderbird too. What am I missing?

Thunderbird administers my 7 "aol" email addresses (accounts) on my Dell laptop (running Windows 7). 5 of the accounts are behaving normally, but the other two accounts appear to be linked. So, when I send an email from one of them, it appears in both "sent" folders. When I receive an email in one of them, it appears in both "in box" folders. When I visit "mail.aol.com", these 2 accounts behave normally. So it appears that they are linked within Thunderbird. Can you suggest a possible solution? Thanks, Tim

I am a long time Thunderbird user and set up a monthly donation. I no longer have access to that Email account and I need to stop the donation. The Donor portal won't work because it requires me to access my original email account.
